This will probably be a really unpopular opinion, -but-
OMGs! This is the most horrible threat humanity has ever, ever faced! It will affect every man, woman, and child!!
Oh, sorry level 12 character. You're obviously not good enough to help out. Go PL until you're 50+. What's that? You're free to play/premium? Well, sorry, only VIPs can break the 50 mark. Both of you go sit at the kiddie table while this massive and world shattering event happens. Here, hold my cape so you can pretend to have something you can do that makes a difference.
Don't get me wrong, I love my incarnate. But shouldn't people less than Incarnates get to help save the world from the biggest threat humanity has ever faced? Because a level regular level 50 would be smeared across the pavement with one hit. -
Quote:Add "Who doesn't remember that my former Warden was the person who helped her out in Imperial City."las is a confused but mostly friendly character who's often overwhelmed by the weight of drama, but usually handles this in a positive manner. In First Ward, Katie Douglas is intentionally described as unhined, paranoid, weird and having a problem with other people.
Although that does highlight the nice development of conversation trees. Like Dominatrix 'remembering' you if your character went on the right missions in Praetoria. -
Call 'Hitter' as your role. You will only need to click 4 glowies for your first part then click to talk to the crazy old guy until he runs to the tables on the second.

For my main: The joys of being a magic based character!
(in-game)Tacitala. demon possessed 12 year old and Orangeban experiment: "Hey! *mentally pokes demon* "I want to go help this person. Could you restrain some of my power so that I can play assistant? Please and thank you!"
The demon possessing her and fueling the majority of her powers: "What the [PANCAKE]?! We just got you up to om-nom-noming power from The Well and now you want me to suppress your abilities?!"
Taci: "Please?"
the demon: "[PANCAKE]. Fine." *zot* -

OK, who's going to make the New Age woman who insists she was an Atlantean dolphin in her past life (Sonic/Water Defender?). I would, but I knew one in real life and I don't want flashbacks.

[killjoy] Yes, but your teammates might not appreciate suddenly having their whole screen turn dark red. [/killjoy]

Thank you for the ideas. ^_^
I've scribbled down them and will begin working on them... as soon as I have the brain power to do so. -
I'm one of the players that start with a concept then work out what their power set should be. After that I decide on which side or faction they should start as (save for my poor now-blue Widow, who had to start red). Sometimes that concept is difficult to play on the chosen side (i.e. a gold-side blaster) but luckily I have someone who I can reliably team with and we seem to be good at finding combos that work well together.
I'm sorry you got shoehorned in to starting on blue. On the bright side, there's the alignment system and some of the content on red around level 20 is better than the lower levels (at least in my opinion).
[Side comment: No, no. The Enriche blast character needs to be the healthy and fit woman from the ads all over the place. Actually, I think B.Viking is seriously pondering making that character.] -
Forgive me if this is a repeat of a question. I didn't find the topic already posted, but I may have over looked it.
After going through the biographies/histories of the different characters in my SG, I realized that there was a significant portion of us that are living in the base on a full time basis. I'm in the process of making the base look more homey (with the different functional rooms looking like the various rooms of a house) and I'm wanting to make the decorative room we have be a combination bedroom(s), bathroom and kitchen (with some squares looking like a 'back yard'). I can probably work around getting most of that to look fairly passable except for one thing.
I can't figure out how I would make decent looking beds. There are the cots and the straw sleeping pallet, but those look really ratty (and you'd probably would get flees or bedbugs in the straw). So until we get the game mechanic of "raiding Manticore's guest house", can someone give me ideas? They wouldn't have to be big or extravagant- modest single beds would work- just something clean and comfy for our homeless heroes to sleep on.
Thanks for any advice you can give. -
I was thinking she was the host on the Praeterian equivalent of the Home Shopping Network. I like your answer better.

And Chimera? The man teleports off after every other time you fight him, saying he did that one last time would certainly be in the realm of possibilities. Then, hey, the Dream Doctor was willing to have someone as vile as Protean work for him, Chimera isn't that much further of a leap. Plus, with Protean bailing on the Doctor, he is missing a master spy/infiltrator. Just make sure Chimera is given leeway to control every single aspect of his job. If you do (apparently) you can win his steadfast loyalty.

Quote:Have you ever pondered making Golden Girl's evil Praetorian twin? Same body model, only the bad one is in a black version of the clothes with a daring neckline? Then when evil-Golden Girl (Iron Lady? Tarnished Lady?) comes to Primal and goes villain, she can be GG's evil arch-nemesis? Just think, every time evil-GG did something horrible to gain power it would highlight all of the things GG resisted. He was one of the early clues about which was the right side to support

*OK, so a couple of them are. The others are 'insane from being experimented on by her father and the recovery that happened after ("Oh, I'm sorry it hurts sweetie, but it's for the best of the Empire. Here, lets have a nurse bring you an Enriche popsicle.") and the other is trapped in the system ("Dammit. I manifested powers. Well, I guess I have to work at the PDD. I wouldn't want anyone to take out issues of my disloyalty on the orphanage I was raised in- I can't put them in danger.")
** Just kidding... mostly. -
Don't worry, it's just a movie. The dog playing Lee was fine after the scene. He probably got paid more than you did.

Quote:Each alignment faces just slightly different mobs more frequently, at least from what it strikes me. Everyone will fight all of the groups (including your own faction) at some point or other. My personal observations over the full arcs, especially the Imperial City arcs (thought don't take me as an expert):And were, say, planning to do it on four different characters to do all the storylines, what would you suggest as being best suited for Praetorian mob damage that aren't all the same?
Responsibility seem to fight more broken Clockwork. That should make getting something with energy resistance a priority.
Power seem to go through a lot of Destroyers. Look at getting some knockback protection.
Wardens seem to fight more Syndicate. Try to fit in some psionic defense to get around their bosses.
Crusader seem to fight more PDD (no surprise). Getting some ranged defense, while great as a whole in Prae, is going to be a touch higher.
Keep in mind: everyone in Praetoria has some form of ranged damage and is usually pretty good at it. Even the random protestors can be deadly with those rocks.
My problem in giving advice on what to play is that I've spent about half of the time playing characters in 2 person teams (go having your signifigant other playing too). My Responsibility fire/fire blaster would not have survived anywhere in Praetoria is she wasn't hiding behind a Ice/Titan weapon tank, but she would have had trouble solo in the main game as well. My bots/traps mastermind on the Powers line did fine (except for one or two missions), but she would have been fine even if she started Primal. My rule of thumb when you are solo: if the character could do the main game on a x2 enemy multiplier, they should do well.
Quote:I've been semi-through the arcs so far, but always end up doing someone else's missions or levelling by too fast, so I'm looking forward to just sitting down and trying,
Quote:I remember liking the Power arc where I got to show Reese exactly what I thought of him, plus my posse. Loved my posse.

Quote:Or Sister Psyche shoved Aurora out of her head to cover her tracks as she hopped in someone's body. Manticore is a likely target since she's hopped in his head at least once in the comics. It would make Penny's actions in the first episode of SSA 2 be less of a bratty little girl moment and more trying to find out what happened for sure.Aurora-psyche claims that Tilman pushed her out of her mind moments before getting skewered by Manticore. We all take it as a last heroic gesture on her part, but it might have been part of a plan - maybe she planted a mind-seed inside Tyrka's body or that Paragon Protector Aurora was possessing.

Don't worry too much about having to fit in 100% with the game world. The background police aren't going to show up to rewrite your history if it doesn't mesh fully. -
It's worse
(And we're supposed to hate Reese...) -
But I like having a small server population on Pinnacle. It allows me to remember who people are without having to use the star/character note system. Sure, things can get kinda quiet from time to time, but I have have characters that don't need a group to do well (like all but 2 of my red sides, and I've been trying to butch up them so they can solo better, too).
Unless I say the words 'Incarnate Trial' or 'Badge'. Then suddenly there comes from nowhere a swarm of characters descending upon Dark Astoria like a plague of super-powered locusts.
*crickets* *crickets* "So does anyone want to do an i-trial badge run?" *woosh- mob appears* -
The following is all opinion, your mileage may vary, etc.
1- Pick something that is good at handling large crowds of enemies.
Praeteria is highly solo-able, provided you have the right power sets. Which ones qualify for that are up to you. Just be aware that, no matter which side(s) you play, you will have missions that take you to large empty rooms with lots of enemies. Lots of enemies.
2- Beware of the "Praetorian Greeting" ambushes.
Seriously, there are some missions that give you 3 and 4 waves of them. And, sorry Stalkers, they are targeted on you- not your general location. Thus stealth will not avoid them.
3- Manage your experience gain if you want to see all of the story.
Due to there only being 3 level ranges, and the waves of enemies, you can out level a story arc easily. Which is too bad, the stories are good (I'm so-so on the Resistance Crusader storyline) and each of them has an interesting morality choice at the end. Make that even more so if you want to do multiple storylines at once (which can involve going undercover for the opposite faction). -
I can only think of 3 of mine that have "favorites"
My main and namesake is, essentially, a Circle of Thorns breeding project gone awry in the form of a 12 year old girl. Her favored is (duh) CoT. She's not sure which ones are her genetic material donors, so she's just going to have to punch all of them to make sure her parents get hit too.
One of my alts, Alditha, is a barbarian titan weapon user who got told to go touch that 'glowing snake symbol'. She hates both the Fifth Column and the Council. Honestly she can't keep them straight and doesn't really care about their whole history. She just wants to flatten them because that's not how you be Germanic.
Finally, there's Yvette, one of my just started characters over in Praetoria. She's the result of (Primal) Vanessa DeVore trolling (Praeterian) Vanessa DeVore via the masks given to new Carnival of Light members, some paint, some slight of hand, and a parcel of wards to cover her tracks. She's going to love smacking around the other Carnies (Light, War, and Vengeance) mainly just for the lulz (of course that's her main reason for doing anything). -
Quote:Pft. Get a second computer/laptop and convince her to play as well. Trust me, it makes a two person team go much smoother when you can just look across the room and ask "Who do we go for first?" rather than taking the time to type it in.I'll try to make it this week, but as of now, the wife is on the computer and not letting go.
You were wanting more people in your personal SG, right? -
Quote:And the writers would be able to declare that they meant to do that all along. I mean, no. No, I never come up with a reason later to fill the plot holes left from me just winging it after about the third session when I GM table top games. I have my stories plotted carefully every time I sit down, honest.Chronologically, he'd be killed in Who Will Die, but later during Maria Jenkins' arc we'd find out he'd actually been kidnapped by Emperor Cole months ago and replaced by a clone, which would explain why Darrin Wade's powers faded at the end of the fight (Darrin drained the clone's powers, and the clone's connection to the well was artificial, far from stable).
I agree with the idea of leaving references to States scattered thru out the game. Who's death are we supposed to have an emotional reaction to in the SSAs if there's no trace left of that person in the game?

Actually the background used for the ad/announcement in the NC Launcher showed text over a tiled image of icons for the different consumables. So, no, not really, the image made it clear that the gifts were going to be a consumable.
I'm happy with that.
