Quote:Snipers will snipe you no matter how stealthed you are.2) If you're using the tp stealth proc, your stealth gets broken every time you tp. Consequently, every time I'm tping across FF I get sniped, even tho I'm theoretically "stealthed." The irony is that if you want to benefit from the tp stealth proc, you have to stop tping.

Quote:No, the argument about Fly being fastest never was made. Teleport is quite simply worth the extra cost because:The same argument was made about Fly back when it cost hideous amounts of endurance to run, and yet that was rectified at some point. It still costs a lot, but not nearly as much as it used to. I wonder if I can't find Big Pippy's planner to see how much it used to cost...
1) Faster than capped Super Speed, even before slotting/Auto-Boost Range from Energy Manipulation.
2) Get outta Immob/Slow free card.

Quote:You've never programmed. Unexpected bugs show up in code from multi-billion dollar companies, even bugfixes breaking other things, in sometimes very, very important systems, and you think a minor bug showing up in a game is evidence of sloppy programming?Yeah I do appreciate the honesty. But is it just me or does it seem like every patch and issue comes with new bugs these days? Would really be nice if they lit a fire under these programmers ***** and nip that sloppy code in the bud once and for all.
Also, this wouldn't have made it to live if people had actually summoned the Rikti Monkey pet on Test. -
It's very likely no one saw the bug on test. How often do you think people *really* summon non-combat pets on test server?
Also, this is why closed beta testing isn't what everyone makes it out to be. You have to try *everything* to crash the game. You have to, for example, summon the Clockwork Power Oscillator pet, after midnight server time, while it's daytime in game time, under a specific tree in Croatoa.
Because that could end up being the circumstances that cause a zone crash.
(Note, circumstances and bug they cause pulled out of my backside. If this is an actual bug, I will laugh said backside off. -
Given that the devs made new pets for Rain of Fire, Ice Storm, and Blizzard for Corruptors, to add scourge to them, but left them the same damage, I'm inclined to think "intentional design decision".

$server, for those of us who use global channels to meet with friends who're alting on other servers.

I was brainstorming the other day, after seeing the many complaints about the Regen nerfs (that ended a good 8 or 9 issues ago, dead horse is dead, people), and thought "what do the other armor sets have that regen doesn't?
Debuff resistance.
Invuln currently has 50% -def, 25% -rech, -rec resistance. Elec and Dark cap out -rec resistance, Dark also gets -perception resistance in set. Ice caps out -rech resistance. SR caps out -def resistance. WP gets some handy -regen resistance. Fiery Aura has -rech resistance. Stone gets -def and -perception resistance. Shields has -def resistance, though not as much as SR. Energy Aura has -def resistance. And Ninjitsu has -def resistance as well.
Regeneration is the only set without a thematic debuff resistance, and as the "I block it with my face" set, every incoming debuff hits.
With that in mind, I propose the following.
Add 25% -regen resistance to Fast Healing.
Add 25% -rec/-end resistance to Quick Recovery.
Add 25% -recharge resistance to Resilience.
This follows the pattern of Invuln's debuff resistances lying in the auto powers, and of them being 25%, which is a noticeable edge off the incoming debuffs (from personal experience of picking up Resist Elements in the middle of a Citadel TF post-buffs). This is a tweak that will help Regen players out quite a bit, while not being overly broken. (At least in my opinion. For all I know, Castle thinks that any debuff resistance in Regen would be too much given how potent it can get). -
STF completely failed due to one particularly nasty mapserve. The TF got partitioned (specifically, the tanker ended up on her own team no matter how often she re-logged), and we had a German on the team who needed her sleep, so couldn't wait very long for a GM.
-
No, the tauntless, no AoE, Willpower tanker was not controlling the agro anyway. Try reading the OP before sounding like a n00b spouting out your ***.

To be perfectly frank, I wouldn't mind all you crazy European types coming over to our humble servers. But not as a server merge, but a client merge. Basically, adding the 4 Euro servers to the same list us US players can pick, and adding the 11 US servers to the same list you Europeans can pick from.

Quote:This would be because the devs don't have the tech to have costumes recognize which build you're on. You need to have zero crab powers in either build, and I somehow doubt it's "fixable" any time soon.Just started up with CoH after being gone for a bit. One of the things that pushed me over the 'try something now' bump was the fact that there was no way to remove the Crab Spider BackPack on your costume at the tailors. You know the one.. the one with the big waving arms.
Now, I know you need that if you are a Crab Spider, but on an Alt build I went with the Mace guy line. However, there was a broken piece of code regarding the backpack, so you couldn't remove it even if you didn't have any Crab Spider powers. It was a 'known issue' and the Devs said they were working on it.
That was last winter. I came back, not only is it still broken, it doesn't even show up on the 'known issue' list anymore. Did the Dev's just write that off? Was there an announcement that they had given up fixing it? -
Quote:Not to mention that, even if they did, it'd only work out to a few cents. I wonder if the OP would settle for me mailing him a few shiny pennies. They'll even be the new design with Abe Lincoln sitting on some logs on the reverse!Hmmmm, I don't think they "owe" anyone anything. It would be nice, but anyone who expects an apology does not deserve to get one.
Also, though it certainly sucks to miss out on all that lovely DblXP time in AE (/sarcasm) it clearly states in the EULA that outages and other things will occur, and that they are not responsible for loss of play time as a result. -
Quote:You're talking to someone who has a link to a very sarcastic set of apostrophe guidelines in his sig, remember?Yet everyone does it. Language is all about communicating your point. So as long as everyone knows what you're talking about, it shouldn't matter if it's "redundant" or not.
And if people would start using the language right, people wouldn't have an excuse to abuse it "because everyone else does". -
-
Quote:You mean NICs. Adding card to the end of that acronym is just as redundant as all of the following:So you were one of the lunch ladies at my old high-school? (Oh, the jokes we made at having to install NIC cards in their computers. Because really, why WOULD they need internet? )
PIN number (Personal Identification Number)
ATM machine (Automated Teller Machine)
LCD display (Liquid Crystal Display)
NIC card (Network Interface Card)

I love how some people post ideas, then as soon as their ideas are criticized and reasons they might not be good ideas are brought to light, they act as though they were personally attacked. -

Really does belong in the Suggestions forum.
With the requests for a blue-side equivalent to MMs, sure, why not? Make a new AT that is somewhere between a controller and a MM. Make it a Melee AT with a control secondary containing the Sidekick.
[/ QUOTE ]Going Rogue will have blue-side MMs. -

Mind Link and Vengeance are 20 times better with HOs (ToHit/Def/Rech) than IOs. Also the various toggle debuffs (-ToHit/-Def/-End). And Invincibility (ToHit/Def/End). And Singularity (Dam/Mez, with Acc to taste). -

It wouldn't even be so much adding an effect to PB as merely allowing it to be used while mezzed. (Active Defense too while we're at it.)
[/ QUOTE ]And Kuji-in Rin.

Though I also like the short duration buff idea for thematic reasons. Like the new Moment of Glory.
[/ QUOTE ]/SR doesn't need that buff, it already has a Tier 9. -
[ QUOTE ]
I gotta go with the OP. I dislike grouping with MMs. (especially Thugs MMs). That said, having a top quality player at the helm makes a huge difference.
Here's a few things you can do that will make you less reviled.
- in a full group, don't bother summoning your tier one pets - they are probably just going to get in the way. When the inevitable SHTF (stuff hits the fan) moment occurs, pull them out. They will arrive in defensive mode and save your hiney.
[/ QUOTE ]Doesn't work for Ninja MMs. The Genin are the real beasts there.
[ QUOTE ]
- Keep your pets on Ignore. That way, when the Corrupter who can't sit still snipes some guy and he responds with an AOE attack, your pets don't go tearing off across the room and screw up the pull.
[/ QUOTE ]I'm not getting eaten alive just to not "screw up the pull". The pets are on defensive, end of story. It's called "corner pulling" for a reason, and if you just haul off and snipe before letting people get around the corner, you botched the pull, not the others.
[ QUOTE ]
- During the fight, keep your guys on Ignore. This allows YOU to control who they are damging.
[/ QUOTE ]Hell no, that's the quickest way for an MM to eat dirt.
[ QUOTE ]
- You know those attack powers you have in your primary. Save those powers for soloing. They do next to no damage. Using them will only result in some enraged mob punching you in the face.
[/ QUOTE ]Okay, this makes sense....
[ QUOTE ]
Since your guys are not in Defensive mode, you can't afford to be punched in the face.
[/ QUOTE ]Why don't you just tell the stalker and brute to turn off their armors? That's what your advice is so far.
[ QUOTE ]
- Do not assist the Brute. He does not want (or need) your help.
[/ QUOTE ]Do not assist the MM. He does not want, or need, your help.
[ QUOTE ]
- Focus on the mobs that are standing off and using ranged attacks. See that guy off to the side healing mobs. Kill him. Let the Brute deal with the scrum.
[/ QUOTE ]Can I have your global so I can avoid teaming with someone who wants MMs to do pretty much jack [censored]?
[ QUOTE ]
- When the Brute bites off more than he can chew and goes down in a hail of gunfire. That is your moment to shine. Forget everything I just said and save the day. Then heap scorn on the brute. Mock him as he begs you for a 'green or an orange' so he can make a wakie. Then give him the green, and rez him before he can combine them. Then mock him some more.
[/ QUOTE ].... Or actually play well, contribute, and keep people from dying in the first place. You know, being a good team player instead of following the worst MM advice I've ever seen.
