Yes you can respec your toon, there are many way to get a respec.
By completing a power respecification trial
By crafting one from a Respec Recipe
By having one given to him or her by the developers during a special event or after a significant change in power mechanics
By subscribing for a specific number of months and receiving one via the Veteran Rewards Program
For villains only, by completing the first Patron arc and unlocking a Patron Power Pool
For villains only again, by having a Soldier of Arachnos reaching level 24
Purchasing one from the in-game store for $9.99 USD
Here for more info

Windowed mode: It's in the dropdown list for screen resolution in the graphics options menu

Respec: Yes, there are several ways to obtain a respec, but it is impossible to change your primary or secondary powerset.

Hey there and welcome to the game

1) Yes you can. There are a few different ways to earn a respec. Check out this link to find out about it. Bookmark that site. It's got a ton of terrific information.

2) To run the game in windowed mode go to the menu and select Options. Click on the Graphics and Audio tab. You'll find a drop down menu for screen size that'll have an option to set windowed mode.

btw, another no-cost, little-effort way to "respec" your toon is simple to go to any trainer and take advantage of the alternate build you're allowed.

I dunno about windowed mode, but yes you can respec your character. You need to obtain a respec to do that, however, and there are several ways to go about it:

1: Wait for a major game update, like an Issue- any update with power changes means every single character gets a 'freespec', which can be used at any time by typing /respec (note that all other respecs require visiting a certain NPC)

2: Complete a Respec Trial- you can choose to earn either a respec, or Reward Merits, when you complete one of these trials. Other people can tell you more about these.

3: Gain a Respec Recipe, through either the market or from a random drop. These are rare and valuable though, I'm just including them for completion's sake.

4: Not a true respec, but you can visit a trainer to switch to your second build- essentially, you get to re-choose all your powers and slots from the ground up, even more so than a respec. However, your second build is slotted seperately from your first one, and any enhancements in the first build stay there and can't be transferred. You can switch builds at any time (though there's a 15 minute cooldown).

To use 2 and 3, you need to visit a NPC-heroes visit Jack Wolfe in Galaxy City (inside the Freedom Corps building), villains see Arbiter Lupin in Nerva (next to the trainer).

Ed: Dammit, beaten like a Dual Blades custom AV.

The real crime is that it took a whole six minutes for someone to mention this tidbit.

Yes, you can Respec your toon in one of three ways. Run the Respec Trial and choose the Character Respecification reward at the end of it. Obtain a Respec Recipe (through the auction house or a Drop) and craft it. Earn one through the Veteran's Reward System (about once a year of play). Get a Free Respec (usually given by the Devs after a new Issue drops.

The Respec is ONLY of Powers... NOT Powersets, Archetypes, Gender, etc.

Windowed Mode is available in the Menu Options in the Resolution drop down list under Graphics and Audio tab.

I finished with Dr. creed. but he didn't give me a new contact.

If Drea was assigned to you as your Broker for Port Oakes, they should have given you the "Newspaper" contact under your Contacts. Do a few missions from the Newspaper, Drea will want to talk to you and offer you a special "Mayhem" mission (robbing a bank in Paragon). Once you do that, you'll have a choice of contacts and can alternately do it all again if you like.

You should now have what looks like the headline of a newspaper in your contact list. Click on it and it will give you a choice of 3 missions. Run 3 of those (which ones don't matter) and you'll be told to go see Drea again, who will give you a mission. Complete that mission and you'll get a temporary travel power and when you return to Drea you will get another contact. I like Bocor personally.

The Mayhems are lots of fun, but can be a little complicated the first few times through. It's not necessary, but you might see if anyone is around that would like to come with you to explain things for your Mayhem.

Successfully completing your first lv5-9 Mayhem will get you a Temp Travel Power good for 2 hrs of Flight time (Once it's gone though, it can't be reaquired). Successfully completing your first lv10-14 Mayhem will get you a Temp Travel Power good for 2 hrs of Super Jump time (again, not reaquirable). Those two Temps should tide you over until the Travel Powers open up at lv14.

Villainside, this isn't QUITE true. There's someone in Grandville right in front of Lord Recluse's statue selling flightpacks for 10K apiece.

Yeah, you have to get to Grandville, which is a little tricky, but you should be pretty safe on the way from the boat to the vendor.

Pretty much any combination in the game can be a good build, it more comes down to AT. A Defender might not be able to solo an AV regularly...but your Brute probably could.

If you're under level 10, then instead of a respec, I'd look at using the alternate build to re-choose your powers.

Your enhancements are not shared between builds, but at the level of working with Drea the Hook, it doesn't matter much.

Although, I don't think there's any bad choices under level 10 for a fire/stone brute.

Next point: You're a smart guy for coming here with questions. We like answering questions of new players, and helping them achieve the true heroism/villainy they are capable of.

Keep asking!

It's pretty solid. Not the best build and not the worst. You trade damage for survivability later, but that won't be until after level 38 and Granite Armor.

No such thing, really. Or, the somewhat cliche' but still true "The one you enjoy playing most." F'rinstance, my first villainside 50 was an Energy/Energy brute. Played mostly looking at single targets, like a "heavy Stalker" (it has some invisibility) it plays nicely. If you try to play it more tank-like (round up a bunch of enemies, stand in the middle,) you'll get beat on pretty badly.

Brutes run a whole range of playstyles. Try out what you have now, poke around in the Brute forums (and realize almost everyone thinks their build is godlike,) try out a few alts.

Not every language has an equivalent punctuation system, but in English a question mark (?) is used to indicate when a sentence is a question and not an exclamation or statement. This may not seem important now, but in the future you may find that most occupations that are higher paying and more prestigious than mopping restaurant floors or washing dishes are difficult to get without basic punctuation skills.

As for builds... i would suggest reading and asking in the Brutes section of the forums. There are already many threads with detailed builds posted there, and you can create a new thread if you can't find one that already answers your "question".

Best built brute is what you like best.

There is no reason a Fire/Stone armor brute cannot be successful.

You have a lot of extra character slots where you can experiment. No build cannot explicitly make it to 50 none are doomed at level 6, but at the same time if you aren't enjoying it, try another!
