I'm rather glad that I don't really have any characters I wanna use double-experience for... but, I feel for the Virtue (and Freedom) folks in these times of need. 
Good to play on more than Freedom and Virtue. Virtue down, off to Victory. :P
Random idea but..
..everyone suffered massive mapservering...then all of a sudden it cleared up. Around the time it started, a zombie invasion attacked a zone and it cleared up the instant the zombie invasion stopped.
Blame the Undead perhaps?

Yeah I was online when that happened. I was tryingto market. I'd post something for sale... lose connection... come back... market would note money paid to it... lose connection... come back... price would finally appear. It was 30-40 seconds per item listed for sale. 
On the other hand, I haven't seen Virtue or Freedom in the red, I was able to log onto both, but for some reason Champion and Protector are greyed out at the moment...

I was in a mish and we kept getting mapserver error. It cleared up after a few minutes, and we were fine. Champion and Protector are both down.
Champion: Feride Edain, Level 50 Vigilante Blaster; Quicksilver Cure, Level 33 Controller; Silent Gemini, Level 44 Tanker; Aisa Moirai, Level 19 Villain Dominator
Virtue: Aurora's Blaze, Level 50 Peacebringer; Atrytone, Level 50 Tanker
Well it is fine now, but some people in broadcast are saying they are still getting slammed with mapserves every couple of minutes.
But thank goodness it cleared up for us 
He hasnt actually play with me since like... the last dbl exp event.
Yeah, it hit at the worst possible time. Wife and I leveled our new Crab Spiders to 24 to get them kitted out with their backpacks and wanted to really give em a test. We hopped in a mayhem, and after beating down the Hero, we ran off to do the side missions.
To really give it a test, we went into a smash and grab and hit all the alarms. A small army of 'bow and PPD show up, and we're mowing them down 5-6 at a time, with more coming in constantly. We're raking in the XP, popping insps left and right, and are just cresting the wave of bodies to the point we're thinking we might just win this... and MAPSERVER... MAPSERVER... MAPSERVER...
Had to relog. Was totally bummed. Crowing moment of the entire day cut short.

I must have gotten lucky. Logged on expecting Virtue to be full up or at least red like it normally is on double xp weekends. It was merely yellow, and had not a single hiccup the entire time I was on.

Try being on most of any server and it always only having 1 of anything.
Besides, most RPers that I've spoken with are excited about Champions Online and going there.

I am sick of your HYPERBOLE, that game was thrown together in 1 year because they needed a PRODUCT to sell after Marvel Left them HIGH and DRY. So they bought the CHEAPEST IP they could get in a SHORT amount of time, and just smashed all the crap they had for the marvel game into this new champions game... The entire game is rushed, it wasnt well thought out. So give me a Damn break when you talk about how awesome that game is. RPers will be BORED in 20 days with that game, so just shut the Heck up.

I'm laughing at all the whiners that have been complaining about the price of booster packs and threatening to go to CO, and now their furious that CO is going to have more microtransactioons than we have here.
Oh and whats so great about a game that only lets you start with 8 character slots? We start with 132.
