    Engine Question

To do these things, yes, the City engine would need to be overhauled.

If the City engine were overhauled, it would MUCH MORE LIKELY be for City 2, not City.

I know a few people for whom CoV is a fabulous standalone game. They do not play heroes. They never have.

(Yes, I understand the conversation has gone past this, but it bugged the hell out of me.)

That is an awful color for linking, especially on the villain theme. It's nigh-invisible.

NCsoft requires you to prove that you can continue to pay for the account when you're trying to upgrade to a retail account. This includes credit card, paypal, and time cards/game cards (two different things).

With credit cards and paypal, you can cancel immediately after upgrading your account to enjoy your free month and never get charged a single penny. If you don't cancel, at the END of your free month, you will begin being charged for your subscription (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually, whichever one you end up choosing).

With time cards and game cards, you must 'pay' for your month (the card), so you end up with a free month and a paid month. Time cards and game cards are not automatically-renewing subscriptions. They are something you must do every X days (X being how many days are included in your time/game card).

    Another MMO?

Have you tried WoW in the last year? In the last year, there have been so many changes that are primarily aimed toward the more casual player: mounts at 20 and 40, flying at 60, XP smoothing, power alterations... the game's a totally different beast from when I started playing the game (three years ago, I took a two year break because of the grindy-grindy). I honestly recommend trying it again if you haven't in the last year.

Regarding the 'kids' comment, you want to get into a guild or build a friends list of people you enjoy playing with. (I would be willing to suggest my guild on Velen.) Also, I took trade and general out of my main visible chat window, just like I take most of City's generic chat channels (broadcast, help, etc) out of my main visible chat window. Too much garbage in there, in both games.

Yes. I am a City lover, and I am actually recommending WoW. Bring on the hate.

I've never had a problem with them. All my grey-con mob farming has been with "enemy alive <name>".

  7. Anglerfish by @Liz, the lady who won the CoX t-shirt contest. (Syrusb on the forums.)

By far the best anglerfish I have EVER seen in game. I've seen a few attempts. They pale in comparison.
  8. /bind sysrq "screenshotui 0$$screenshot"
    /bind shift+sysrq "screenshotui 1$$screenshot"

Hitting print-screen will give you a UI-less screenshot, every time.
Hitting shift+print-screen will give you a UI-full screenshot, every time.

No goofy workarounds to deal with.

    Bind them in sequence.

The search for wiki is based off exact words/phrases that are already typed into the wiki. Either in articles themselves, or as redirects. Google 'thinks' and supplies what it thinks is appropriate; wikis supply everything they find.

What were your search terms? We can add them as redirects to the section ZM linked above.

  15. Correct, there will be rewards for heroes who don't fall and villains who don't redeem themselves.

    No word on what.

Let's pretend for a minute that we're talking about the least-used powerset combo in the game. I have no idea what this combo is, so let's just call it X melee/Y armor. Or if you prefer, X support/Y blast. Or whatever.

    Same difference.
  18. I'd be OK with "...and 3 hidden" at the end of a whoall total, but nothing more than that.

I would prefer it not to be changed at all. It does what it says it does: shows people who are not on /hide. Therefore it is WAD, WAI, LMNOP, ROFLCOPTER.

Zombie Apocalypse, or Deadly Apocalypse? If the standard Zombie Apoc, I believe this at least is WAI...zombies' "internal level" is 30. (same with the Rikti Invasions)

I have not participated enough in the Deadly Apoc to know if their spawns have level 30 "internal levels".

(all critters that obey the "giant monster coding" have an "internal level" that dictates what level their drops are based off of, and also at what level you start doing more damage against them (at a lower level than the internal level, you do less damage))

** everything else in your two posts, I have no idea/no comment.

    Literally?

    Africa, if you believe science.

God's imagination, if you believe Christianity.

Various other places of the origin of the human species, according to various other beliefs.

(yes, yes, I am deliberately ignoring the 'in a forefather kind of way')

There's also heists (or stop heists), in banks, shops, police stations, etc. So instead of making them all the same each time (removing the possibility of heists, which I prefer over anything else), just make it so that it checks each time

roll for slot one -- kidnapping!
roll for slot two -- check roll one! reroll until you don't get kidnapping! heist!
roll for slot three -- check roll one, check roll two! roll and reroll until you don't get kidnapping or heist! boss fight!

That way you always get different ones, but you're not blocking a type by having only three static options.

I believe perwira is directing the OP - not the lowbie - to kill some dudes, as a level 50 gets TONS of influence per kill, and can make 50k in about 2 mins of lazy work, 10 seconds of quick work.

Nope, I added it to the wiki the day I got it at PAX, September 6th.

It's not a temp power. It doesn't have a matching Halloween Event drop (just like Praetorian Clockwork costume does not). It's a permanent power, listed under Inherent Powers, thus it is on the Inherent Powers list.
  24. You're talking about a bug with an unsupported video card (chip). They don't have to waste time fixing things that generally only break on unsupported hardware/software.

If it gets fixed, it's usually only due to needing to fix it for supported hardware/software.

Complaining about a bug with unsupported hardware/software makes no real sense.

Would I use them? Maybe. If I had evidence that everyone was.
More likely than not, I'd just solo a lot more than I already do.
More than likely, I'd just quit playing the game after a while.

Sure, there'd be a wicked little novelty, like when the new mission TP could get you into level-locked zones. But after a bit, it gets old.
    You fail at fun.
