Really? I rarely, if ever, saw it. Mostly it was just in mezzes, which kind of makes sense. You're frozen in a block of ice, you can no longer fly.

If you played redside Arachnos had TONNES of -fly, as did many groups - like the fire immobilize spam from the Fire thorn casters.

I constantly play redside, most of my characters are villains, and quite a few fly.

Still don't see it much.

Hogwash. More than half of what I listed wasn't even in the game when I started playing. Two-thirds of the rest are minor bits of the game. Which leaves Exemplaring - a good idea that I've always hated because of the implementation. And none of that touches on the bulk of the game and some of its major selling points.

Bane Spider Commandos (minion), Bane Spider Scout (LT), Wolf Spider Tac Ops (LT), Wolf Spider Huntsmen (boss), Crab Spider Webmasters (boss) and Bane Spider Executioners (boss) all have Web Grenade, and the boss versions actually have an AoE version.

Arachnos Tarantulas, just the mundane minion guys, have enough -fly in their basic spit attack (Venom Bolt) to overcome the fly provided by Hover, which is quite significant. Toxic Tarantulas have a variation on Web Grenade.

Neither Fortunatas/Widows, various non-Tarantula drones, nor any of the Mu have any -fly effects that I recall. Overall, though, the presence of basic minion types and several boss types with -fly (Tarantulas and Bane Spider Commandos) does make it pretty noticeable.

It should not have been subjective at all in the context I gave for how Warburg Scientists behave. Combat AI were "well-behaved" in the sense that they exhibited basically none of those behaviors.

Can you name the last time a swarm of, say, 5th Column had a hard time running up a ramp to chase you? The last time they fell off a ledge trying to get you you? Compared to Warburg Scientists, how often did they get stuck on railings or curbs? On rough terrain?

I am actually going to miss the layer cake cave. My "Blow Up the Layer Cake Cave" AE mish earned me a slow but steady stream of tickets, which meant whenever I made a new toon, I always had a stash available for a few bronze rolls to snag a -kb IO recipe.

Will not miss CoT spectrals, sappers, security chief/PvP liason talk-to mishes, and timed missions that pop up without warning just as you were about to log...

May as well make a list of what you'll actually miss. I'm surprised you even played CoH at all.

Um.

What?

Oh, and more than anything, I won't miss:

People who think this game is hard enough that performance matters.

Probably the ONLY thing I won't miss from this game is masterminds and their pets. From day one, the AI on pets has been wonky at best...downright ANGERING at worst. Add that to the fact that 99% of MM's don't know how to control their pets (or at least gameplay dictates that observational statement)....and it led to me wishing that AT had never been made in the first place.

Now...the PEOPLE that play the game....tons of them I won't miss. Griefers. Spammers. The bungholes that ran circles around the Pocket D dance floor for HOURS...umm.....pretty much anyone that held conversations in broadcast, regardless of zone.

My shameful addiction was to sit in Pocket D and watch broadcast, labeling everyone's player notes that spoke in that channel as "Pocket D broadcast idiots." and one-starring them. After two years.....well, let's just say there were a lot of people running around in the game(NOT just in Pocket D) that had one star above their heads. And from some of the conversations I "overheard" in /b....yeah. I was insulting idiots by labeling those having said conversations as idiots.

His list just shows his lack of knowledge and experience with the game, that's for sure. I agree though, glad to see these people go - the ones with 'gotta be x/x or else you are useless' types of attitudes who complain about tiny buttons even though there is a dedicated slider in the game that can increase button size.

What won't I miss?

The 'new' Atlas Park.

The 'new' Hollows.

Having to do the same itrials ad nauseum.

The Rogue Isles: There should never have been a facility to play a villain redside. It simply split the player base.

The same shape and tile set of indoor missions - and outdoor for that matter: A random generator for missions would have been great.

I especially like how he arbitrarily declares non-standard builds/ATs as leeches then goes and says the invention system is bad. Does he want a conformist steamroll or not?

I've always found redside to be in every way better than blue. Better content, better zones, better ATs before they got merged.
