If NCsoft refuses to comply, and the game shuts down, What is our revenge scheme?

Yup, me too.

I know I was usually busier actually playing the game than reading the forums until this fiasco hit, but I think some of you pick on Golden Girl too much. She is dedicated and level-headed, sticking to reality (aka not starting false rumors or giving up before the last gun has really gone off), and she does it all in a positive way.

Go go Golden Girl! Haters gotta hate-- you just ignore them, baby!

(Falls over laughing)

I don't know if I've ever seen so much WRONG and so much WIN all in one neat line.

You win.

Yeah. God bless America and God bless Golden Girl! The most dedicated, stubborn, inplacateable player CoH has ever seen!

No, its a sociological truth. Go look it up sometime. Its called the Middle kingdom syndrome, and its been seen in behaviors of both the Japaneese, Chineese, and Korean peoples.

Edit: And for the record, I wasn't kidding about the computer science/hacking thing, But yeah, I'm probably not going to hack NCsoft. Too much sh*t to worry about.
Okay, for me (and possibly some others) the internet tough guy bravado and odd way of presenting it made it seem like you were talking out of something other than your mouth.

To me it was sort of like this. (Warning, video has a naughty word in the context it was used.)

The best "revenge" is to treat them like what they are now: a competitor. Whether I do the game building myself (doubtful) or someone else does, NCSoft is competing with projects I would rather support.

And that is the reality of cold, hard economics. I can't speak for NCSoft, but I certainly wouldn't want a group of highly motivated, tech savvy, largely adult people with lots of time on their hands needling at my company.

Did you think about OTHER people's homes? No. As long as it's not CoX, your game, it doesn't matter to you, does it?

Know what? I'm sick of that notion here. I now have another reason for wanting the game to stay: so people can shut up about the ****s they will no longer give toward NCSoft. I'm not a fan of them either, but this is ridiculous.
I think my screen name alone lets you know that I'm no hero. .
There is also City of Villains too, so more than likely we have at least a few villains among us.

Yet in the end, I doubt anything will happen to NCSoft, and given that only a small fraction revenue that they probably won’t miss comes from the US and various other parts outside Asia, they probably will still be a multi-billion dollar company afterwards. And if "fish does hit the shan" then they'll probably just fire more people until there is nothing left to fire and the same ones that vengeful people try to hurt will not feel a thing. Their worst case scenario is the excs abandoning ship with much of those billions tucked into their pockets as severance packages while the employees they let go can’t buy a can of beans and or spending up their life savings while hoping it last while they are in between jobs. While they are losing about at most 100,000 players here, they have millions of players in their Asian market. So even if COH was raking in a 2 million dollar profit a month or 24 million a year it's only about 0.048% of said income of 2011 of about 544 million dollars that they raked in total. In perspective that is about fretting over losing a nickel out of a dollar, which of course not many people would complain about the extra nickel but at the same time probably won’t miss it much.

Because a single article in the Taipei Times is enough to write off an entire race.

I didn't watch the video, But i think it's worth noting that i was -very- angry and annoyed at the time i wrote the OP, So i understand the "This guy is a troll" attitude, But people get angry, That doesn't make me a total ***, Just a pissed off villain/vigilante who hates pink horses and likes to bathe in the blood of magical creatures.

...Ignore that last part.

I thought the "who cares what others think" thing was an internet people thing.

Parochialism is universal. How many people, even business owners, in <country> think of <country on other side of planet> or even <neighboring country>, and the people who live and work and play there, in anything but the rarest and/or most abstract sense?
