I cheated NCSoft into giving me City of Heroes for free.

In 2005 I purchased City of Villains and maintained a subscription for it. I didn't own City of Heroes, however, which was a standalone title you had to purchase at the time. So I only had access to redside, and in order to ever make a hero I needed to shell out 30 or so dollars.

A few months go by and it's early 2006. I decided to download the free trial for CoH, just to see what blueside was like. I roll up a hero, fiddle around, and expect it to only be a temporary experience. 14 days come and go, though, and the free trial never ran out. I still had access to my existing heroes and could even make new ones. It stayed this way for the full year and a half before Cryptic left and the two games merged. I'm assuming NCSoft couldn't tell CoH was only a trial since I had a subscription to and owned CoV.

So I glitched NCSoft out of one of their games.

Back when Force Field used to make you cast shields individually, if someone was being particularly annoying, I would occasionally intentionally place the "elemental" shield on them twice and skip the "s/l" one. Works best if you only skip them occasionally, right when they are charging into a big pack of enemies.

I used Dominate and Mesmerize to attack the yellow Mitos during Hami raids because neither attack is flagged as ranged.

And I would do it again.

A few years ago, I used to log on as "Insane Rikti Monkey", go to AP on Virtue, and superspeed around the statue of Atlas for hours at a time while listening to "I'm Insane" by Ratt and "You're Crazy" by GnR (over and over again). Did this sometimes for two hours straight, sometimes for three. One night I ran for four hours without stopping but then I had to pee.

On the same character, during the Winter Event, I'd race around the ski chalet and whip snowballs at folks all night. I even made a special build for it. His ranged def was 75%, to hit bonus was +25%, and accuracy bonus was +139%. Deadliest character in the game with a snowball I bet.

I would make make a free account and play till the character was at level 20 for the extra costume slot... them make one slot female and one slot the massive male..

then tailor the female toon into a sexy half naked women, and ask for ERP from someone at pocket D..

then halfway though ERP, I would change the toon into the massive male form and start singing barry manilow songs..
