Just realized that everyone has there own heros that they will have forever, whether the game ends or not.
None of my toons are gonna go away just because the game is gone, Timberpixie was around long before City of Heros and long after.. and all the characters ive made are still going to be around long after the game shuts down.
This isnt the end, just a minor roadblock.
I still have fan art, comic books and flash game to make.. and now that im not playing any more online games ( Champions Online = money grubby snoozefest ) ..ive got plenty of time to start once the game is ended.
Most of the Art and Story community should be in Deviantart or a few other places.. much nicer to make what you want when the game it may or maynot have been based off, no longer exists.
The game is dead, long live its heros... err.. and villians..
*evil grin* ..im gonna have fun with this.
P.S ...MY NAME IS TARTARSAUSE!!! ..I dont know why the "Y" was added and for the last few years, I haven't really cared... but just to let you know "Tartarsause" .. thank you.

hmm... my idea was to get a screenshot type group shoot.. or something similar.. sadly the game doesn't seem to have that ability to get a good screenshot.

STEP ONE: get a list of all the people in the Coh art community that have helped out and added to the enjoyment of everyone here, either by making art or simply by posting about it.
STEP TWO: get info on one of their characters and what they look like.
STEP THREE: have all the artists in the Coh art community make a group shoot of all of them together for a final farewell.
STEP FOUR: have them post that info to this or another thread. -
my graphics cards not that high and im still a little rusty on using cameras for shoots and maxing out lighting.. NO BLACK LINES!!
Timberpixie and her pet Raptors/Robots/Teddy Bears and err... floating healing things..
happy they have an antler set for the head AND something that kinna looks like its should or should not be an animal, that I can plunk on her head..
STILL working on trying to get the lighting right though.. thats like 50 percent of the battle.. -

There are negotiations ongoing to cut CoH loose from NCsoft although it's not clear whether it would be as an independent studio or selling it to another publisher. Only those involved know for sure. It's still quite possible nothing will come of it, but still it's not quite dead yet. Pining a little, perhaps.
even a British or Canadian company would be good.. though Maple-Leaf man or Tea-Time man might replace Statesman... and they would force us to use the Metric system *shudder* -

They knew the world of City of Heroes was gonna end at the end of 2012.. and they all warned us of it..
look at this proof..
..they even made primitive tankers using the mace and shield power sets..
..though I think he shoulda used the backpack instead of the cape option..
and im assuming that towel in his belt is the Mayan vet reward packet..sigh..
they had all the cool stuff back then.. -
I would assume South Korea and their " If Americans dont like it.. too dam bad." attitude.
They seem to have no problems with firing everyone in America and only working on games made in Korea that mostly do well in Asian markets. -

..ugh.. my screenshot skills suck... have to wonder if anyone in City of Heros EVEN has a small chibi character that they made, that ACTUALLY
looks kinna like one of the Blade and Soul race chibis.. -
ahh well.. its not the same as Coh, where you can run around in nothing other then a small barbwire bra, whose only main purpose was to ensure that you dont get two black eyes while running or jumping fast...
..as for blade and soul..im more scared of the small boy race then the small girl race, running around.. -

I'm not sure about places (that can really depend on a number of factors), but two tips I can give are...
Demo Record and change the camera to better frame your character in the shot.
And/or
Use a second account/computer/user to take the pictures of your character.
Otherwise, you have to zoom so far out in order to get your character's full body.
Other than that, if simply doing them by yourself in the game, inching your character to the very edge of a ledge and moving the camera down just enough to get the whole body can do alright.
And flying characters can help you position the camera better.
As can jumping. However, this is only if you want the character in either a flying or jumping position.
I highly recommend using a separate camera (either through a separate character or through demo editing).
If you need help demo editing... I'm sure we can point you in the right direction.
It's quite simple really. For such a thing as screenshots, you'll just change a few numbers in a text file that sets the 3D coordinates of the camera. Play it back and snap the screenshots as it plays. -
I would like to make a folder with all my characters in them before they die.
anyone have any tips on good places for screenshots or tips on how to get good ones? -
I would make make a free account and play till the character was at level 20 for the extra costume slot... them make one slot female and one slot the massive male..
then tailor the female toon into a sexy half naked women, and ask for ERP from someone at pocket D..
then halfway though ERP, I would change the toon into the massive male form and start singing barry manilow songs..

Dee-Dee, thank you for hosting this year. I know you worked your hiney off to get attention, prizes and submissions, and what was delivered to you was less than fair. But you still worked your hiney off, and I appreciate that.
To those that started but dropped out, I was sorry to see you go, as competition lacks without your presence. The more the merrier, as we all feed off each other in drive and spirit. For whatever reason you had to go, I know it happens. Who knows if we would have had another year of this, I guess we'll never know. But if you were there for some of it I thank you.
In regard to this month:
Tartyr: great job composing panels for your piece and capturing a comic book spirit. I especially like how you drew your lady's face in panel 2, and that you included a Wailer in there. Wailers! Who pays attention to those guys (besides Johnny Sonata)?
Leaf-nin: The gown design on your Fall lady is especially fantastic, and I would have loved to see that in game. Ive always found your artwork to be high quality and very professional looking, it was a joy to fart battle with you.
Leaf-nin, I every much like your anime drawing style ( a style ive never been able to get to work the right way for myself. ) and your use of colored pencils is amazing, the amount of work you have put into each and every picture shows your dedication to the images you create.
DarthDelicious, thank you very much for making the last fart battle end on a high note, you where great and worked hard to make sure everyone and everything came together just right at the end.
and finally, thanks to EVERYONE who voted for the artists works each month, even if you didnt vote for me.. the fact that you voted is what was always important.
