Sorry but you have it all wrong.
Some of those costume pieces aren't in the game. Yet.
See? It's a hint.

..course playing a superhero mmorpg while there is fantasy style demons outside, might look kinna strange.. I can see it now
" NO.. im not gonna go outside and kill that dragon.. my water blaster is three bars till level!!"
The world was previously destroyed 3 times at the beginning of the 14th b'ak'tun. December 21st, 2012 will be the beginning of the 14th b'ak'tun for this world, so people have used that to assume the Mayans predicted our world would end there as well... although we've not actually discovered any evidence of that. In none of the stuff we've found, has there been any reference to this world meeting the same fate as the prior ones... we've actually found multiple things referring to dates past December 21st... by several thousand years.

Yeah this joke hasn't been made several times the last two weeks either.
My new Youtube Channel with CoH info
You might know me as FlintEastwood now on Freedom
The Mayans did have a cyclical view of time... so in a way you might be able to say it's appropriate that the same joke is repeated repeatedly...

Assuming you have no familiarity with the Mayan 2012 thing...
|
That and there's no evidence that the Mayans are any more accurate than the Jehovah's Witnesses who predicted the end at least three times before giving up and going for a nebulous condition instead of a set date. i've certainly seen no evidence of the universe or earth being destroyed the last several times the Maya claimed it was.
And the joke is more than a little threadbare at this point.
Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
The world is always "ending" and always has since the third cave person met the other two and pulled out a sign that said "The End is Near" In 2013 some bloke will come up with a new supposed ending date and so on.
The poor Mayan probably just quit at that date. He was counting from around 2000 BC to 2012. Or probably originally got to year 6500 before realizing he messed up a date on the end of 2012 that threw the rest of the dates off and just said, "F-it, let the next civilization figure it out."

The Mayan calendar actually continues way beyond 2012. Actually, it doesn't end in any way, shape, or form (like how our calendar doesn't end). They even have several units much larger than the b'ak'tun, including one where each unit is around sixty million years.
There's quite a bit of interesting stuff, but at the same time, popular culture will be shown to be pretty much just full of it when it comes to the Mayans.

Haha... I certainly hope that you didn't take my contribution seriously! Good grief.
I am well aware of the ridiculousness of it. I was just being silly... We all know it's B.S., but I was thinking that it would be hilarious if CoH is saved and the universe actually did end like the nutters were saying...
Humor... Ar Ar.
And yes, Tartyr's initial joke was played already... that's why I offered a little somefink different... Sheesh, Schism...

We'll know to worry if Paragon does succeed, and announces the servers will come back up on the 21st of December.

That would be the end of the world, or at least my free time. :-)

Characters
They knew the world of City of Heroes was gonna end at the end of 2012.. and they all warned us of it..
look at this proof..
..they even made primitive tankers using the mace and shield power sets..
..though I think he shoulda used the backpack instead of the cape option..
and im assuming that towel in his belt is the Mayan vet reward packet..sigh..
they had all the cool stuff back then..
