This is good news, methinks. Hell, even getting the Sentinel+ extractor in a week is a HUGE step...and you're telling me the multimillion dollar company can't even put together a proper press release in the same time frame?

Very, very shady. Put me on the list of people who won't be satisfied with my subscription time (prepaid until February 1) being rolled into another NCSoft game. I want my money back, damnit.

I also want my money back. I just don't expect that to be their answer, since they already have the money.

Already down one the day the news hit...

There's been a lot of awful things happening in my life, this one has sent me over the edge.

None of this makes sense. None.

Oh my god you're sleeping in an alley on a bed of Paragon Studios' flat screens? Do you need me to send you some packing peanuts or something?

Good advice as always Zwill.

Because 1) they thought we'd just roll over and take it

2) they feel we dont have the right to know

and

3) they would not reverse that position now or loose face. and to Koreans I *belive* (but am not postive) that face is every bit as Important as it is to the Japanese and Chinese

I probably will not like what they have to say

Since it seems that NCSoft isn't doing anything to see the game off, I'm getting close to uninstalling. Hate looking at their logo now.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

Before you uninstall, consider that the reason for NCsoft's silence is due to the fact that even they don't know what the next few months has in store for CoX. We've heard that there are a few people like the Devs and TonyV trying to talk to them about it(and maybe even another company for all we know!). Give it a few more weeks before you throw in the towel.

Uninstall the launcher if you want, but I'm keeping City of Heroes on my computer forever and ever and ever.

Its the only way to replay demorecords. Plus I have 9 terabytes of disk.

I guess I could move it to one my secondary disks. My main HD is a SSD, and the thought of having 9TB of SSD sounds like a Star Trek fantasy. So I'm sure we'll have it by the end of the decade!

IDK about '9'Tb, but I could sure use some suggestions as the reviews for the >2.2+Tb drives are scary.

Hopefully they're labelled MA++, or you'll get stuck after each one waiting for instructions.

Actually... quick question on that.

Couldn't you play demorecords from just a basic install of the original discs? That is, provided you don't use any resources in the demo from a later issue.

It's not like you need to connect to a server to update. Wouldn't you be able to install the game using a disc, then copy over the resources (piggs and such) from a later issue?

I dont think so. I'm sure there are checksums and the like encoded in to keep us from haxing ourselves illegal stuff; that would mean the game would checksum the new piggs and say "you are HAX! NO DEMO FOR YOU!"

Update: I'm working on some messaging regarding the cessation of player services right now. There's some details that are still being worked out by NCsoft, but I would expect something in the next few days.
