and
3) they would not reverse that position now or loose face. and to Koreans I *belive* (but am not postive) that face is every bit as Important as it is to the Japanese and Chinese

We've heard that there are a few people like the Devs and TonyV trying to talk to them about it(and maybe even another company for all we know!). Couldn't you play demorecords from just a basic install of the original discs? That is, provided you don't use any resources in the demo from a later issue.
It's not like you need to connect to a server to update. Wouldn't you be able to install the game using a disc, then copy over the resources (piggs and such) from a later issue?

Update: I'm working on some messaging regarding the cessation of player services right now. There's some details that are still being worked out by NCsoft, but I would expect something in the next few days.
