Anybody else think there is a massive Typo here?

Thank you for that link. Just edited my letter to NCSoft.

I'll post it later when perfected.

Let's just hope they live up to their Spirit.

hmm yeah, with whats going on with this doesnt seem to match up with ANY of those vision goals lol

the only way they can somewhat redeem themselves is if they release all coh related stuff to the current developers or the folks at titan

Not thinking much of their Core Values either.

Too many 50's to list here's a few you may know.
Slazenger, Area51, Area53, Area54, Erruption, Mind Plague, Thresher, Sheath, Broadside, Debt

Though, to be fair, I think this is more directed at their internal employees, rather than their clients.

You missed the fine print for that mission statement: "As long as I can afford my yacht, 3 million dollar condo, and my ego"

NCSOFT may take away our servers and beloved dev team, but they can't break our spirit and community. with all your power, NCSOFT, your victory will be bitter-sweet. I, personally will be there to laugh at you when you face-plant into the ground.

It seems like WE'RE living up to everything on that page more than they are. Let's continue to show them what it means to live the words they've written - they could obviously do with a lesson.

City of Heroes taught me that when the world is burning, you don't just stand by and watch, you grab a fire extinguisher and do whatever you can to stop it-even if it's not much at all. Sign the petition to keep City of Heroes alive HERE.

Here is my letter. I have arthritis, but I did handwrite it out after typing it on the computer. I have to wait a couple hours before writing the second one...

"Most Honorable Sir,

I am one of a thousand voices who lives and loves the game City of Heroes, and mixed in with the cacophonic chorus is my story.

City of Heroes is more than a game to me. It is a home. It is family. Most important to me, this game gave me something I never had…

When I discovered I could design and build my own base, I suddenly felt a connection to my grandfather. A man I never got to know. He was an architect and was killed in a plane crash two weeks before my mother’s 14th birthday.

Please do not take this from me. Please, do not let this game die. Listen to your fans, your public, your playerbase.

This game makes us all happy. World-wide and across language barriers we live, love, learn, and laugh together. Compared to other games we are small, but it is a big part of our lives. I have found life-long friends here.

Heroes never die. Heroes don’t give up. We are heroes. This is what we do.

Do the right thing. Be brave. Be a hero.

Save CoH."

No, they clearly said they want to make EVERYONE happy.

They might also wish to adjust their job adverts, which seem a little bit cynical...

"It's not the Lost's fault, but they're gonna soothe your savage beast with their faces." Sometimes you wonder what the game designers were thinking...

Especially in Mission section???????????
As we all know, sometimes you just fail a mission. Maybe it was timed, or they had to protect Lady Grey or something.

Agreed. Using someone else's words in a counter-argument, especially words so publicly placed, is excellent leverage.

But still be polite about it - just ask them how their refusal to sell CoH fits in with their goal of making everybody happy.

Its not so much a typo as it is a website from an alternate universe. That website must be from the Prime universe where NC Soft is good and just. Unfortunately, we must be living in the bad alternate universe.

Agreed.

Along with an invitation to an Ethics seminar.

Of course. I simply meant that it is very hard for anyone to come up with a counter-argument for something they themselves said, especially something as weighty as a mission statement.

I don't know, the "Constant Change" item certainly seems to sum up their "out with the old" mentality.

That page is just so much fluff. It's meaningless.

They might be trying to convince themselves that they're living up to those "goals", but in the real world, their actions speak the loudest of all.

Most companies don't put "To make oodles of money at all costs" at the top of their mission goals when sending said goals out to the public, but it's there, and it supersedes everything else on the goals.

Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!

Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.

No kidding. After all, it would be more in the spirit of their stated goals to provide all their products for free. Or better yet, packaged with hundred dollar bills.

Taking those statements literally is assinine.

Even taken half-literally, they still have no relation to their actual actions.

They don't have the power to make the whole world happy, but they do have the power to make the thousands of CoH fans happy.

Yet still funny.

Seriously, they could have said something like "to provide good service for as long as possible". But no, they made it their mission to not stop until everyone in the world was happier because of them. they were, seriously, asking for it.
