It was very one sided because the Praetors and Cole are terrible tacticians, and they were literally facing an entire ARMY of Incarnates. Not surprising it was one sided.

We'll have to agree to disagree that the work OR story was rushed.

If anything a majority of the people on the forums had been saying that the Praetorian story line had gone on waaaaaaay too long, while ignoring MAJOR other plot development. I concur.

The Rikti 2nd war was an annoying gnat compared to what was went through involving the Praetorian war. Especially if you play through the entire story from GR through the tfs and Incarnate Trials in sequential order.

Yeah I completely disagree.

EDIT: If on the other hand you want to say MAJOR parts of it had plot holes you could run a truck through or that parts of it were poorly written, that's another thing.

but yeah I can totally see why people think it was rushed. For a climax it feels very rushed and sudden. it may not be an -accurate- perception, but it is a prevailing perception among the playerbase (among others).
Two plus years even if we had been digging it is too long. Major other parts of the game lore were patently ignored at that time.

I'm glad they quickly capped it in I23. Honestly no matter what the "Cole Trial" looked like he was getting a quick beatdown.

He literally had no one else to back him up after we beat all his other allies into paste.

The prevailing perception is also that the entire thing was dragged on waaaaay too long in terms of number of trials and content.

I'm glad DA took a slight side attempt at focusing on something else for a bit.

With that said the Praetorian storyline is actually NOT technically over.

The quick defeat of Cole is NOT the end of that storyline.

It's ONLY the end of the tyranny and Praetor rule over there. However the survivors over there (and possibly soon Primal Earth) have one more thing to worry about.

Two words: Praetorian Hamidon.

Cole's defeat was the climax. Now we're left with the falling action and the implications of his fall. It's true that it isn't 'finished' in that Praetoria is pretty much a part of the setting from here on and it's likely that we'll see bits and pieces of it continue on into the setting's future for quite a while.

I would not expect Praetorian Hamidon to be a major threat for a while though. At least from what's in I24, it seems like we're going to see more Devouring Earth forces and deal with the Avatar (or multiple Avatars) in the new Incarnate Story arc, possibly the Brickstown/St. Martial arcs. But we're not going to see a new Trial or Raid involving the big monster himself and he would most certainly get his own trial/raid. It's probably being left open explicitly so it can be revisited later.

I dunno, we'll see! I'm just saying, I can understand the perception that the climax felt rushed.

Oh I didn't mean I24 would bring the trial.

What I mean is the arcs involving the DE and Avatar are setting up for a FUTURE issue with the Prae Hamidon.



I expect we'll be knee deep in fighting a new intergalactic threat when the first tentacle from that other dimension comes a calling. Perfect time to hear from him/it/she when we're busy fighting something that makes Cole's group look like kindergarteners, amiright?



EDIT: As an aside I get why folks say the climax felt rushed. My counter is I'm glad it was rushed. It was getting to the point of "enough already".

Yeah I can see Praetorian Hamidon being a Dark Astoria like event during the Battalion arc.

I'm still holding out hope for a 40-50 Prae zone sometime XD

I wonder if we might get to meet Tyrant in the Zig, unless the Vanguard are holding him someplace else, like they did with Battle Maiden?

Proof that, contrary to popular belief, the devs DO read the S&I section. Sounds like it's getting the -res proc I suggested as well.

And if the set bonuses end up how I suggested them, I have to say: D'oh!

I could use the S/L defense bonus on my scrapper.......but his TAoE is Shockwave and I need the KB->KD proc as well.

New Powers in our Power Pools

Blaster Secondaries changes

A New Dom secondary

and MORE!?!

I...I just have to wait until Beta hits...this is probably the biggest game changer (literally) issue wise for me since I'm a Ranged Toon Player.

All of my builds in mids will have to be redone! Which isn't a bad thing!

I can't even make any true I24 builds because the changes are so great that most of my current builds will be moot.

This is issue is made of pure win.

They aren't purple, as far as we've seen. Well, the def/res/heal ones might conceivably be, but the TAoE one almost definitely isn't, since we already have a purple TAoE set.

Also, yes, that IS a crazy thought.

So after sleepin on it, evnethough I still thought the story wasn't long enough it needed to end. But if its confirmed that tyrant is still alive and locked up. You know what that means for the story line !!?

That means when prae hami comes knocking we can potentially have statesman back but a more kick *** version.

I just hope the build up to it takes a while I mean at least 5-10 issues. To make it that much jucy. Like the can have lil spores comming over from the vills raiding prae for tech. And meeting up with our hammi to make an interdimentional monster alliance. Idk lol but I like prae lore. Only thing can top that lore is councle/nictus kheldian stuff..

Praetorian Hamidon has yet to be addressed, but with SSA 1 concluded can we count the Shadow Shard out of the fight? I'm sure a race of extra dimensional creatures would like a shot at Praetoria and another swing at Primal Earth.

It actually did. She never managed to escape on her own, nor did anyone even know she was being held there. The only reason she got out was because Malta were actually written to be Malta for once; an organization that has infiltrated military organizations, works from the shadows, and are more focused on subtle espionage than throwing a million robots and goons at a problem.

I can comment on your first question. The blasts that received a range increase were the 40 foot blasts. Below is a list of powers that are affected in the current build and have had their range increased to the standard 80 feet.

-Beam Rifle/Lancer Shot
-Dual Pistols/Executioner's Shot
-Energy Blast/Power Burst
-Fire Blast/Blaze
-Ice Blast/Bitter Ice Blast
-Radiation Blast/Cosmic Burst
-Sonic Blast/Shout

Also, it looks like any such powers in Dominator Assault sets had their range increased as well.
