Huh. I didn't think Moffat was going back to the old Dalek designs. Wonder what the in-story reasoning is... more leftovers from Davros' group in Series 4? Time travel to an earlier point in their history?

Five episodes?

...

Hasn't it been like a year or better since the last batch? Are they Olympic torch running the episodes around?

The only show that I can think of that's taking more time is the next batch of Venture Brothers. After all, it's only been since November of 2010 when Operation PROM aired, and the new ones still won't be airing till spring of 2013.

From what I've read on numerous sites, it's every Dalek design.......ever!

It's running from 2012-2013. 5 Episodes, Xmas special, rest of series in the new year.

There are a couple of reasons why episodes are spread out. One is cost. The BBC isn't generous with FX budgets. The other is so the cast can do different things, thereby avoiding typecasting. Both Gillian and Smith have appeared in a couple of high profile dramas. And the Moff has Sherlock to do as well of course.

I really should do something about this signature.

Actually it's been stated that it was staggered this way explicitly to lead up to the 50th year anniversary special next year, which is supposed to be A Big Deal.

Also don't forget that there's gonna be a new companion after the 5 w/Amy & Rory. So this could be an interesting season for sure.

Thank you for the time...

Yup, new companion comes in the Xmas Special. The first 5 eps are about the Ponds and how they go (not really a spoiler, it's been announced for ages now)

The xmas special introduces the new girl....this one

With the rest of the season being in the new year.

This leaves enough of a gap to lead in to the big anniversary next year.

And what's the bets that it's not really the last we'll see of the Ponds?

What people state is not always the truth (AKA, The Doctor lies).

Once they had given Tennant all that time off to do other actory things, they could hardly deny it to the current stars.

Mrs PRAF thought Matt Smith was great in Bert and Dickie the other night.

Daleks are like MRSA and VRE crossed with cockroaches. Only larger, louder and more immediately fatal.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

That's how I felt watching the trailer. It's just... too much.

Ya yet at the end of last season they said something to the effect that he was getting to loud and he needed to fade back into the shadows.

Don't forget it's been nearly 8months without the show, of course they are going to release a massive promotional trailer before the show starts again. I wouldn't read too much into the scale of the trailer for how the doctor will act It's all for the hype after all!
