So what your saying is they are caught in one of those endless wars because it is all they know?

Fighting: We have

Hope: Nothing left to believe in

Cycle: Endless.

Enemy:You are.

Desperation: Left to motivate us.

Invasions are fun..but...can we at least have something different happen perhaps? How about a reverse Mothership Raid..where hordes of rikti come OFF the ship, and attack the Vanguard base? Or something.

Anything those of us who will be experiencing our first invasion should know?

Sure - it works like this. (And looks like THIS.)

When the invasion starts, the sky goes green, the War Walls come down, and the sirens start blaring. All the mobs on the street disappear.

About a minute or two later, a series of Rikti dropships begin flying through the zone, bombing everything in their path. Some bombs explode on impact, others sit delayed. You get a badge for blowing up the delayed ones.

That lasts about 5 minutes. Then waves of Rikti (based on the # of heroes in the zone) begin teleporting in AROUND you. For crowd control, this is why heroes/villains tend to gather in one spot. AoE is your friend. The more in one zone, the better the chance that the invaders will bust out the Heavy Armored Assault Suits (you get a badge for those as well).

Eventually the Walls come back up and they teleport away.

When you attack, they are automatically ranged to your level, so EVERYONE is on an equal playing field. This is a great chance for healing badges, debt badges, inf, prestige, etc.

If you're in a high populated server that's REALLY feeling motivated, you can put together a dropship team and go to town.

you forgot to mention how stealth powers ruin everything because the rikti can't see your numbers with their inferior tech so they never teleport down

Please buff Ice Control.

i *might* have seen a rikti invasion happen there too but i stopped paying attention to them a long while ago lol
Zombocalypses happen wherever players are and thus, could happen in any zone.

Rikti Invasions also have Rikti showing up wherever players are (if they are grounded and not sheltered and not traveling fast). However, Rikti invasions also have drop ship routines which have pre-planned flight paths. That pathing wasn't easy to do. In Beta (and at times when it's bugged), you could have drop ships stacking up on each other ten times over, or flying through buildings, or not show up, or going around in circles. The pathing needs to be created (and fixed) by hand.

Thus, no Rikti invasion for new Dark Astoria... the new zone never got a path... not worth coding it (since probably the devs who originally did that aren't around any more).

Now this may not be a bad thing, it is nice to have some zones that are not susceptible to invasion for those that are either done with the event or don't want to be involved. Sure there is always Pocket D and Ouro but in DA one could run incarnate missions or trials without invasions getting in the way.

Boy, nobody likes Praetoria these days!
Clearly Rikti Logistics is incapable of handling opening up two fronts at once - either that or their portals can only target one dimension at a time.

Mind of Gaia lvl 50 Defiant's first Mind/Storm 'troller.
Deadly Doc 50 Dark/Dark Corr

Well, fine. You can go cradle the Arbiter bots like baby blankets and forget that they will be blowing up your stuff too. By the way, if you manage to die while holding out that you don't want to fight because it might help others out too, my Night Widow is looting your house, just so you know.
