This week's WSTs are Ms. Liberty and Lord Recluse, and my alt for the Water Blast project is still 49. Sounds like it's time to complete that final project. I'll plan on leading a team on Friday during our session. Hopefully, we can get the 8 to start. Give a shout if you're particularly interested in joining.
-
Quote:I do. I expect that either they simply won't change on Nov 6 and it will remain Ms Lib and Lord Recluse until Nov 30 or there really is a tentative schedule for the remaining 4 weeks that just wasn't published. I have no basis for this expectation other than a bit of optimism and my best guess at how the feature was implemented on the back end.The WST list only goes up to Nov 5th. I don't expect any more after that.
Barring red name response which I'm not holding my breath for, I guess we'll find out next Tuesday. Remember the WST is highlighted on the LFG tab for any character high enough to run it. Ms Lib/LR for the last month would be somewhat appropriate I think... -
Quote:As I understand it, Double XP WAS on several weeks ago for the weekend. It was subsequently turned back off until Oct 18.As I understand it, Double XP has been switched on for the past several weeks.
Does this mean we will get x4 XP when the Double XP Event occurs on Oct 18-22??
I have been burning patrol xp for the last few weeks, an indicator that DXP was not on. Now I am not burning it (it stays the same value except for when I die). Therefore, my conclusion is that it has not been on for several weeks, but is now. -
I'm attending the baseball game this afternoon so may be late or absent; but I hope to see you all later.
-
I continue to be impressed by each new issue, and this one looks like it has a good variety of new stuff. I think I'm most excited for the Blaster changes (never been one of my favorite ATs, but I have many to level), new power sets, and new content in KR, Bricks, and St. Martial.
I thought the game was great when I started in Issue 4, and it's gotten better with each issue. Great job, Paragon Studios. -
More wet and wild fun tonight, starting at 8pm.
If you came out last week, hopefully you had fun and will return (I think we had 3 teams going at certain points). If you missed us last week, roll up a new Water Blast alt and join us by speaking up the "Justice Superteamers" channel or send me a message @Big King and I'll be sure you get on a team. Heck, if enough new folks show, I'll just run a new alt through lower level Praetoria again. 20 levels may seem like a lot but you will "catch up" to the core group quickly and as long as you show up semi-regularly, will never be unable to participate.
Other possible activities include making the transition to Paragon and starting vig tips or reaking havoc through First Ward. I would like to take down the floating bohemoth there again. As more and more of us get SO powered enhancements, things will get even more interesting. -
The vendor in Talos or Sharkhead is likely to be your best bet so you can just do it all at once. If cost were of utmost concern (as opposed to your performance or time), then putting bids in for SOs would likely net you them for cheaper, but people just don't put these up for sale too often (I assume, I honestly never look) so it would take a painfully long time and a large amount of effort.
The total cost of a damage SO buying a 25 and refreshing every 5 levels until 50 would be 270k, which is probably close to the "buy it now" price of a mid level damage IO. Certainly, you could pay less if you were patient, but it's rarely worth my time and effort until I can get better performance.
Speaking of performance, the wiki page on Enhancements is quite good and even has a graph and table showing where SOs outperform IOs (the aqua shaded section). For reference, here are the percentage increases for various schedule A enhs:
Code:For Frankenslotting purposes, it is interesting that a +3 SO, 40 IO, 20 Triple Set IO, and 24 Dual Set IO are all roughly the same total increase so it's definitely the way to go for maxing increase per slot.-1 SO: 30 25 IO: 32 +0 SO: 33.33 30 IO: 34.8 +1 SO: 35 +2 SO: 36.66 35 IO: 36.7 +3 SO: 38.33
My typical progression is similar to Aett's. I buy SOs at 22, refresh them at 28 (so I can combine them), and then start IOs and sets at 32. Buying from the vendor can be done in 5 minutes if you have your build plan handy and you walk out fully loaded. -
Quote:Wrong dates. From the linked post:Mako-week starts with a Double-XP weekend from August 8th through August 10th.
Quote:Captain Mako Week kicks off a Double XP weekend from 8:00 AM CDT on Friday August 10 through 8:00 AM CDT on Monday, August 13 and continues throughout the week with in-game invasions and more! Join us in Paragon City and show Captain Mako who tops the food chain! -
I agree that SOs are perfectly valid, especially as you are getting back into the game and primarily soloing. I recommend all newer players work through the game on DO/SOs only the first time through just to eliminate one more bit of complexity. So, to answer your original question in detail:Quote:Yes, you need to refresh them periodically. Here is my DO/SO schedule:My question is this, when im leveling up when i get my SO's at lvl 22 and level rest way up to level 50 with SO's , how often do i keep upgrading my SO's i have check some stores in the level 20-29 zones and i would see the level 22 SO's then i would see level 27 SO's ect... how often do i keep upgrading my SO's ????
Is there like a rule, upgrade your slots every 5 levels or ect..??
12 - Go to the origin specific store in Skyway, Steel Canyon, or Cap au Diable and buy level 15 DOs.
18 - Go back to that same store and refresh your DOs with level 20s. Note that I wait until 18 so that I can "combine" them with the 15s and have a 75% chance to get an extra level (denoted by "20+").
22 - Go to the origin specific store in Talos, Independence Port, or Sharkhead and buy level 25 SOs. You can't combine DOs and SOs, so just replace them at 22.
28 - Go back to that same store and refresh your SOs with level 30s. See the combine note above. Same applies here. I also go ahead and buy all the 30s I will need for leveling until 31 so I don't have to return each level.
33 - Go to the origin specific store in Brickstown*, Founders Falls*, St. Martial; or the vendor in Cimerora, Midnight Club, or Rikti War Zone. Refresh with 35s; buy future needs through 36.
*The hero side enhancement contacts in these zones require you to complete a mission for them before you can buy from them.
38 - Go to the origin specific store in Brickstown*, Founders Falls*, St. Martial; or the vendor in Cimerora, Midnight Club, or Rikti War Zone. Refresh with 40s; buy future needs through 41.
43 - Go to Ghost Falcon store in Peregrine Island*, Elite Quartermaster in Grandville, or the vendor in Cimerora, Midnight Club, or Rikti War Zone. Refresh with 45s; buy future needs through 46.
48 - Go to Ghost Falcon store in Peregrine Island*, Elite Quartermaster in Grandville, or the vendor in Cimerora, Midnight Club, or Rikti War Zone. Refresh with 50s; buy enhs you'll need for 49 and 50 too.
Also, feel free to combine any dropped enhancements that match slotted ones as you go.
Quote:I do have another question, say when i hit level 50 i take my SO Build to MIDS, is there a button that i can choose or click that will change all my SO slots out to IO"s ect... or do i need to figure out on my own what should go in my slots that is higher than SO's? -
Quote:Yes, that is confusing.Ok cool, i understand EXCEPT for one thing, i see you have taunt slots all the same, i thought the rule from ED no more than 3 of same type OR does this not count towards IO's or IO Sets
The PICTURE shown on the screen is all the same, but the effect is not. In other words, enhancements from the same set all look the same, but they are really different, and only hovering over them will show that. In that example, it looks like he has 5 Perfect Zingers Taunt Set Enhancements. Below that, he shows the Recharge/Accuracy enhancment, but in that window you can see all the others too: Taunt, Taunt/Rech, etc.
In summary, for Common IOs, the picture denotes the enhancement type (yellow reticle for Accuracy, Red Flame for Damage); but for Set IOs, the background color typically indicates type (black for Taunt), but the picture denotes what set it belongs to (open mouth for Perfect Zinger). -
THIS IS TOMORROW!
Everyone is welcome so roll up a Water Blast alt and meet us on the big star in Nova Praetoria. I'll definitely be there. Still playing with a couple character concepts. I took them out for a spin and they are 4-5; hope that's ok. I went Loyalist, but doubt it will matter.
To anyone checking out the thread who has not teamed up with us before, the core group of the Justice Superteamers are a fun group of mature gamers who are very casual friendly. We go out of our way to make sure everyone is able to participate and having fun. Team and channel chat always makes me laugh. New players are welcome. Come out on Friday and have some fun!
If you can't make it Friday at 8pm EDT, latecomers are always welcome. We'll make sure you get caught up, even if you don't make the first few sessions. -
Another fun and profitable night on Sunday. The league did a great job being patient with my detailed instructions and following them. Big thanks to all who made it out, and my sincere appologies for anyone that I couldn't get on the 16 man league. We were not even close to failing any phase of any of the trials, so let's see how we did on badges:
Quote:So, only 1 miss and 3 bonus badges. That brings our total badges for the weekend to 12/16 that we tried for plus 6 that we didn't!Sunday 7/15/2012- 8:00pm - Lambda Sector Trial
Synchronized - Destroy a Weapons Cache and a Containment Chamber within 2 seconds of each other during the Lambda Sector Incarnate Trial. Success. Each team gathered before the objects, and the other lead let me know when they were ready. I called go and we all focused fire on the object. It took us 4? tries, but we got it.
Lambda Looter - Complete the Lambda Sector Trial having acquired 10 Pacification Grenades and 10 Molecular Acids during the second phase, but using none of them. Success. The league passed me all temps with 10 seconds of us exiting the facility and the grind on non-pacified Marauder went off without a hitch. Special thanks to those that swapped to alts with psionic attacks. - 8:40pm - Minds of Mayhem Trial
Daylight Saver - Defeat Mother Mayhem without allowing Aurora Borealis' health to drop below 75%, and then complete the trial. Success. Through the use of a dedicated Aurora team of 4 with a mix of Barrier, heals, and AoE for the attackers, I don't think she went below 95% and we didn't lose the first portal before the team took down MM.
BONUS: We got a Perfect Storm by only needing 2 Voids (and we killed another with AoE on accident) for Penny and Lost Connection to Server by not allowing Shalice to get to the network in the middle of the room. Great work by taunters bringing the Nightmares to her. - 9:20pm - Dilemma Diabolique Trial
The first two badges are relatively easy and the last 2 difficult so we'll just shoot for Master. We may change depending on league make up or how the final battle goes. Success. We got the Master in relatively easy fashion. Great coordination of 4 folks hunting Essences, 1 taunting the heroes away, and the rest of the team going hog wild on Diabolique.
Spinebreaker - Destroy all four Repulsive Spines within one minute of each other during phase 1
Sentinel Smasher - After rescuing Positron (or Valkyrie), Manticore (or Aurora Borealis), Synapse (or Ms. Liberty), and Back Alley Brawler (or Mynx) during phase 2, defeat the Sentinel of Mot
Sacrificial Lamb - Defeat Diabolique without defeating the two heroes under her control during the final battle
Life and Death - Defeat Diabolique without allowing her to heal from a single Lifegiving Essence during the final battle - 10:00pm (maybe a tad later to recruit another 8 folks) - Magisterium Trial
Triple Threat - Defeat all three Archvillains during the Battle Royale stage of the Magisterium Trial within 5 seconds of the first one's defeat.
Nega-Pendragon's shield popped at around 5% and the league could not back off fast enough on Shadowhunter. They were next to each other so I'm guessing AoEs and pets were the main culprit.
Shadow Master - Never allow Black Swan to open all six Shadow Rifts simultaneously in the Magisterium Trial. Success. Rifts only lasted ~10 seconds.
BONUS: The Hard Way. Tyrant went down after only 2 rounds of lights from pure firepower.
Overall, I consider the event a huge success. Hopefully, folks had fun and got a few badges they needed. We probably won't be iTrialing as a group for a while as we kick off our Water Blast Superteam on Friday (everyone welcome).
PS - A few of us hung around after the event and joined Assault Wound's "Loves a Challenge" Keyes run. Only 13 folks, but we got the badge that we missed on Friday. Yay! - 8:00pm - Lambda Sector Trial
-
Great fun last night, Justice. I appreciate everyone coming out, following instructions, and providing witty banter through all 5 24-man trials. All trials were a smashing success. We obtained roughly half the badges we were trying for plus several we weren't. Let's see how we did:
Quote:We also finished off the evening by running a Magisterium. Got Shadow Master, but were not even close on the Ready to Rumble try. That's another tough one to get.Friday 7/13/2012- 8:00pm - Behavioral Adjustment Facility Trial
Not On My Watch - Allow no Mindwashed Prisoners to escape during a Behavioral Adjustment Facility Trial. 1 got out. I did not see it and am not sure what happened, but we had plenty of firepower so I'm guessing he just slipped through unnoticed.
Strong & Pretty - Defeat Siege & Nightstar while none of their reinforcements are alive during a Behavioral Adjustment Facility Trial. Success. The league was very good at putting down reinforcements seconds after they spawned. - 8:40pm - Keyes Island Reactor Trial
Anti-Anti-Matter - Complete the Keyes Island Reactor Trial after having brought Anti-Matter below 10% of his health while attempting to take control of Reactor Hope Success, but not without some excitement. We actually took him down to 1% and had to be careful for the remainder of the reactors.
Loves a Challenge - Complete the Keyes Island Reactor Trial without anyone dying or destroying any terminals during the final battle with Anti-Matter I think we had a death before I even finished typing instructions, but wasn't sure if it offiicially counted yet (I was still back at the reactor typing). Regardless, we got hit with an Obliteration Beam, Time Stop, Atomic Blast combo shortly after that took out several members. It's a tough badge. - 9:20pm - The Underground Trial
Tour Guide - Don't let Desdemona's health go below 50% Success. I ended up being her lead so could hang back, heal her when necessary, and type instructions most of the trial. The league pwned the Trap room and she didn't get below 80% or so. Easy.
Preservation Specialist - Don't let any of the IDF bombs detonate ] [ this close! In the final bomb hallway (where 5 are clustered), one of our snipers got a few feet too close. His Rad snipe seemed to have a lower range than the Beam Rifle snipe and LRM. I'll have to look up those numbers later.
BONUS: We got "Regenerate This" without explicitly trying and were lucky with the timing of a Seedling on "Avatar Assassin" so we were only 1 bomb from the Master run. - 10:30pm - TPN Campus Trial
Television Addict - Complete all four terminals in all three buildings during each 500-point Public Opinion challenge, while also keeping H.D. above 80% health at all times, and then finish the trial. Success. I'm still not even 100% sure what it technically takes to get this badgeI thought we were not timing our terminal clicking well enough, but we got it.
BONUS: Got "Tonight's Top Story" by pwning Maelstrom.
We ran very close to on time the entire evening, and I only screwed up once by filling the league while someone was swapping (There was someone else with a similar name. They were very cool about it and understood keeping track of 24 is tough sometimes. Thanks!) We got 8 badges on 5 trials. Come back out on Sunday for more fun and badge tries. The Magi run last night was unofficial; we'll still be running by the listed schedule. - 8:00pm - Behavioral Adjustment Facility Trial

See you tonight! - 7:45pm - League Formation

I've had my Naga mouse for about a year and enjoy it. My birthday is coming up so I was looking for things that I want (but don't need
) and thought of Razer Keyboards. The Anansi seems best suited for CoH play. Does anyone have any experience with this (or other) gaming keyboards? Do you like it? If so, how do you recommend best using the features when I get it?

What: Incarnate Trial Extravaganza
Where: Justice
When: This Friday, 7/13/2012, and Sunday, 7/15/2012, starting at 8pm EDT
Who: Justice Superteamers - The folks behind the Justice TA, Traps, Radiation, Blades, Earth, Gun, Darkness, and Time Superteams.
Why: FUN! To provide a guided tour through all the Incarnate Trials to those who may not have done them much and try to grab some badges for the more experienced. We would also like to introduce ourselves and our upcoming Water Blast Superteam starting next Friday, 7/20/2012, to members of the community.
The Justice Superteamers are preparing to kick off a new batch of Water Blasting lowbies in Praetoria. We have recently completed our Time Manipulation project and decided that hosting an Incarnate Trial Extravaganza would be a great finale before moving on! Here are the details:- All trials will launch from Dark Astoria.
- We'll start forming the league at 7:45pm EDT. We hope to kick off the first trial of the night shortly after 8:00. We expect to complete a little after 11:00 on Friday, closer to 10:30 on Sunday; but most of us will stay until we're done.
- 24 man trials will be focused on Friday night and 16 man trials on Sunday. There are 5 24 man trials (with UGT as one of them) so Magi will likely be pushed to the Sunday finale.
- Trials will be run in chronological order.
- Each trial will make a run for at least one of the trial specific badges. The earlier trials will likely feature more. However, this is low stress. If we aren't successful at the badge(s), no problem. We continue on to trial completion.
- A member of the Justice Superteamers will be leading each of the trials. We will do our best to provide full, clear instructions at each phase (and what to do for badges, specifically). We ask that you attempt to follow these instructions even if you are experienced and know another way. We want to provide a friendly experience for those who may be new to the particular trial in question. The runs will not be "speed", but certainly not slow.
- No qualifying toon will be turned away for any trial. Certainly, level shifts and slotted incarnate powers will make life easier for the league in the later trials, but not required. The Justice Superteamers will be bringing enough slotted +3s to give us a chance of completion in all trials.
- We'll be coordinating the league through use of a global channel named "Justice Superteamers".
- The first trial league each night will be first come, first served from the Justice Superteamers channel (and other channels after that if needed). Subsequent trials will give priority to current leaguemates first and then will be filled from channel. Feel free to post in this thread and we'll do our best to get you on the league.
Details on schedule and badge attempts coming soon. -
Quote:Yes, hopefully, we'll get the poll up soon and can start the process for our next project to start in July. I rely on arafel to do that since he always takes care of us, but if help is needed there, just let me know.It should be soon-ish. We've kind-of discussed some themes (some of them listed upthread), but so far, no one's start lobbying heavily for any one idea. If you've got some good ideas, post them or drop by the channel and mention them!
The time team has worked out really well. I know we're going to try for some of the Magisterium trial badges soon.
I won't be online this weekend, but am interested in the Mag badge run. Before we move on, I also would like to host an iTrial extravaganza. We can advertise to get our name out for new folks too. I think we could attempt all the trials over the course of 2 nights on an upcoming weekend. I can help lead any of them (less familiar with UG, DD, and MoM, but very comfortable with any others). I would recommend the core group bring +3s and we can do badge runs on the easier trials. -
I love Superteams as well, though they do seem a bit more rare these days. I regularly team with RO and with the Justice Superteamers. You've seen RO's web site.
JST regularly runs projects based on stacking buffs (we are finishing up our all Time project - very uber) or theme (we've done all Dark or Guns in the past). See my sig for a link to our latest project, keep an eye out on the Justice forum for our next project, typically started by arafel(I'd guess it would start in mid July), and join the "Justice Superteamers" channel. Our official meet up time is Fridays and Sundays 8pm EDT. Feel free to join up and say hi. -
I resolved this by uninstalling and reinstalling the Launcher following the instructions on the support site. Note that when uninstalling, it asks if you want to uninstall all games too. Say 'no' (and then 'yes' when asked are you sure). That was not necessary for me. The issue seemed isolated to the updating of the installer only.
-
I tried cranking up the Launcher today. It began "Initializing" and "Checking for Updates" and then displayed the error below:
Error: System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly '_Launcher, Version=1.6.6.0, Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The parameter is incorrect. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070057 (E_INVALIDARG))

I've tried restarting and running as Admin with no luck. Any other ideas? -
Quote:You know I'll try anything, but I think we need to do it the "easy" way a few times first to have any shot at success. Assume that everyone has never even seen the trial before.Since I23 is dropping tomorrow, any interest in trying for The Really Hard Way badge on Friday?
TheMagicMan is tier 4 on all pre-I23 incarnate slots, but that is my only toon with more than alpha at tier 4 I think. IMO, having a Rare everything is just fine. There is only a small, incremental difference between tier 3 and 4 and it's rarely worth the time investment for altoholics like us.
I vote we stick with the MoM and DD for now. If we own those, Mag may be in the cards. If we own it on easy mode, maybe plan a badge run before we move on to the next project.
I still need Essences on several toons so STFs/LRSFs are great for me too. Bonus Notice for more shards this week too.

In Port Oakes, you should visit your assigned broker (Drea or Mickey iirc). Find them under the broker tab on the contacts view of your Nav window. After you visit them, you will receive a newspaper contact in active tab. Click that to do newspaper missions. After you have done 3, return to your broker for a mayhem/bank mission. Complete that successfully and your broker will introduce a new story contact.

Quote:Awesome! Let's shoot for tonight and/or Sunday, depending on shifts and numbers. I'm hoping a +4 Khan/Cuda is on tap as well. I think with a little communication we can get the storms. My assumption is they aggro just like any other mob and can be column pulled in that room. If not, we may just have to move Penny around to them. The trick will be whether we stay tight, keep up the buffs and heals, and can stay alive long enough to move them.I am so in for an all time MoM or DD. It's my opinion that our HoT would override the DoT in the second phase of MoM.
Quote:Not to be overly contrary, but we did do an all melee team, the bladed team. It wasn't limited by AT because we had brutes, widows and stalkers. But like Starry said, there are more options now (Titan Weapons, Street Justice and Staff fighting) than there were then.
Quote:King brings up a good point. Doms are rarely seen in our projects. An all dom team would be interesting. If we're going to consider a single archetype group, doms should be an option. -
First off, I really enjoy the Time team. I lobbied hard for it and it's exceeded my expectations. It is the epitome of a "Superteam" to me. That means two things: 1. I'm pretty easy with our next project. Anything I suggest below is just rambling. I'll vote of course when the time comes, but doubt I'll be too invested in what we end up with. 2. I'm not yet ready to put the Timers to pasture. I'd really like to continue our dominance of high level content and get some more level shifts. I'd really like an all-Time MoM and DD (only need 8+ for those) before we retire them, but *mostly* +3s may be a good idea for that. I do know that others are getting antsy to move on, and we still have to collect options, vote, and post the new project, which takes some time. Speaking of which:
Quote:I actually really like the idea of a single AT team, and all Corruptor or Controller teams are quite powerful; however, I actually liked the idea of an all-melee team that we discussed. I would vote Tankers with Stalkers a close 2nd (I hear they are much stronger after the recent buffs). Heck, even Doms might be a good mix and are something we rarely see on our projects. This may be surprising considering I'm normally all about the force multipliers, but maybe it's for some variety both in our projects and in my normal play. There is no doubt that this would be less powerful than all buffers, but it will certainly be different. We can still pick up team friendly powers like Leadership to give us some stacked buffs. If I had to choose a buff type, I'd go Controller so I can try out Darkness Control. This is why I'd like to suggest that our next group be a group of force multipliers. We could go controller, defender or corruptor. Personally, I prefer corruptor or controller. Containment works for everybody on team and scourge kicks in a <50% health. This would allow people some freedom of choice in deciding what they would like to bring to the party. In fact, if the hive mind did agree to this option, I think that we shouldn't reveal what powersets we chose. The logic behind this is with other groups people chose powersets that complemented the rest of the group. Not knowing would add an element of chance. -
Quote:I came to this forum last week to make this very suggestion and then got distracted by a shiny. I came back today only to see someone had beaten me to it.I'd prefer they just make it so that two more servers could fit on the screen at once. There's a lot of space that could be utilized for the expanded selection box. At least the scroll wheel works on them (one of the few places in the game it works!).
I agree completely. I play on several different servers, including ones that are typically the most populated. This means that I end up scrolling to the very top or bottom very frequently. As Kitsune Knight alludes to, there is space above and below that could be used. Otherwise, the height of each server could be diminished a bit to make room for all of them.
My only question is whether the number visible on screen is determined by resolution. I can always see all but 2 servers. Can anyone else see more/less?
