Hillarious I typed a code they just posted and within 5 seconds and it was already redeemed. #wtf
This is a waste of time.

When I got mine, it was from just typing the first one in the middle that my eyes fell on, rather than working from top or bottom.

After not getting an aura code last week, in spite of doing everything they asked (and having both tweets and a PM about that completely ignored- <_<)... and seeing the speed at which entire lists of grab-codes vanish... I think i'm officially done with this Twitter business. It's more of a pain in the rear than anything remotely like "fun".

Try under ten seconds.
Possibly under five, depending on what programs people are using.
This particular style of promotion is only making me more and more angry. I'm glad I'm not particularly interested in a Rulu Shin costume...
Seriously, Zwill... Again, I love you guys. But can you pass up the chain of command how much ill-will this particular style of giveaway induces?

Having three employees work on it for 2 days, 2 employees for 1 whole day and 1 employee for 1 day to keep your clientele happy, I think is well worth it and it mitigates outbreaks such as this thread here.

Mostly luck. I was refreshing their feed every fifteen seconds or so from a few minutes before one of the posts... clicked straight through as soon as it popped up, looked at a random code, and typed that over to my redemption box. Probably took.... 15, 20-ish seconds from it being posted. Helps that I have dual monitors, so I had the feed on one screen and my entry box on the other.

Another option someone suggested...link the forum account to the twitter account name. Do the retweet for 2-3 minutes. Get the twitter names. Match to the twitter names on the forum accounts. Either just go ahead and apply the code to the accounts for them or send them a message on the forums. There shouldn't be a limit to that since you guys have control over the messaging system there.
I prefer the retweet method, even if it is only limited to 250 people a day. Its quick, only a quick press of a button, much less time wasted. Or wait to run the contests until some better tech comes along to make it so you aren't running a contest that completely frustrates and infuriates the player base you're trying to please.

That's it. I've pretty much decided to give up on this method of giveaway.
It's NOT FUN guys. It's rage-inducing. It is doing the exact opposite of what you want it to accomplish.

Again Gone within seconds!! I have to agree this is Not Fun!! A Waste of Game Time; & not the way to treat your customers (especially VIP's!)!
If anyone doesn't know, the codes aren't case sensitive, and you don't need to include the dashes. That helps a lot with the typing time, I've found.
doesn't seem to matter, they are used within seconds . . S E C O N D S ! unhappy!
The typing time isn't the issue. It's the loading time, and the fact that there are so few codes to go around.

To be fair, I think the US codes should be released in bigger batches. I'm sure there will be more US then EU codes over the day, but longer lists would give more of a chance to US players with slower connections.

I've also sent two Tweets about it.
At this point, I've honestly given up on it. The dots are cute, but they just aren't worth wasting much more time on... Call the whole business a case of "lesson learned", I guess.
ETA: And now I'm going to grin and say "YAYS!" ... because Hit Streak got the second PM and sent me my dots. Thanks again for that. ^_^

Wasted 1/2 the day trying every 30 mins. to get. Not happy!
it seems to me the simplist solution would be to have user enter their twitter name in their account profile, most profiles have a place to enter email, and msg, and i'd be supprised if their wasn't a twitter field.
then all you need to do is a table comparison
if *user* has retweeted And Followed check database for matching Twiter_name field, send code to email on file with account.
run that as a sql queery with a little php mail script all all your staff has to do is compile a list of users who firt the two criterion (did they respond in the time aloted, and have coh twitter followed?)
heck i can write the code block up right here
