I'll just take solace in the fact that Charlize Theron is in it.

I wonder what the cars will be like? I wonder if they will be using a Falcon? The current car is supercharged - although its appearence is subded compared to the original or the old 5.4 used in the Falcon.

Sigh...I bet the studio will try to make a green statement and all of the cars will be hybrids or full on electrics.

I believe that Max's car was destroyed in Road Warrior....it would be a shame if the movie went this route. Imo it would make it unwatchable...

Not necessary. Just give him a mohawk haircut and have him play Wez.

I doubt this thing is an electric.

It's called the Gigahorse. It's referred to as the 'hero car,' which would imply that Tom Hardy's gonna be driving it.

You can be sure that in movie-land even electric cars explode in massive fireballs...

I really should do something about this signature.

Gibson does not need to be in a remake of this. I understand and get why the original actor that played a character should get a nod in the remake, I really do...Still I feel if it is a complete remake/reboot why bother? It would be pointless and you would end up tossing funds at someone who doesn't need to have a part to begin with.

my 7 cents....

It was, on Max's first attempt to leave the refinery compound.

It's 106 miles to Grandville, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing faceless helmets

Gigahorse? Eh, the name doesn't sound any dumber than the 'car' looks.
This is just my opinion of course, but that 'car' looks pants-on-head retarded to me.

Inside the "Thunder Road" Prop Department office:

"Oooo... remember how cool Humongous' jet-truck was? If we made something bigger and monster-trucky... it's be even cooler. It could even run over stuff and all!!!."

note: meeting was held by four 10-year olds and a 50-year old guy named "Brylcreem" Bubba-Ray Jobahb

Seriously, in previous movies there was a sort of "kit-bashed" functionality in the vehicles we saw, with the odd embellishment here and there. "Gigahorse" looks like it'd fall over at the first bump or reasonably attempted turn.

What can I say? These days everything has to be bigger and better than the original. Just be glad this isn't the 90s, or Mad Max would have a backwards cap, razors everywhere, and some sort of flying skateboard.

Good lord that is a neck. Is she a Cardassian or something???

I kinda like the Gigahorse, though not as the hero's main car. Max's car should be a bit less visually modified than all the baddie cars that show up.

I'd further modify the "Gigahorse" to have a shielded chariot-like area in the trunkspace, and possibly replace the monster truck tires with wedge tracks.

In terms of movie props, "hero" does not necessarily refer to a prop used by the protagonist, but rather a prop that is high-quality, functional and has appeared on-screen in the movie/TV show, typically in a close-up shot. If they're referring to that vehicle as the "hero car", they mean that it can actually be driven and will appear in the movie, not that it's the hero's car (though it could be).

Thats got me worried I'm sure its the bad guys car, but it takes "way over the top" to the next level.

I know this is going to sound made up, but one of my best friends has a cousin working on the production in South Africa, and to say this is being called the 'safe bet' after losing money on the two Happy Feet movies (both Miller's work) should tell you what you want to know here.

Miller's tried being original, and now he's going back to what made him a name to begin with. It's just a shame it's being shot in South Africa instead of Australia which gave the originals a real sense of unique character, but the tax breaks must be great there....

And people are right, that car looks stupid. Apparently the future isn't so post-apocalyptic that they can't double decker a monster truck.....

And seriously? The eye candy from the last Transformers movie is an asset to this film? *sigh* At least Theron can act....
