It's too bad, really. Marvel so rarely puts out a series that I can really enjoy, and Earth's Mightiest Heroes has been one such rarity.

Why? Granted I haven't watched much of Season 2 so far, but A:EMH is a fairly solid series. And the plan is to use the Movie-verse Inspired? yesh...

Unless this new series is ready for a late '12, early '13 launch, I don't feel it would be worth doing. The 'hype' from the Film is gonna be gone won't be around much beyond that time frame.

Thank you for the time...

Avengers: EMH is awesome they see the $$$$$ everyone spent on the movie and are trying to capitalize on that. We hopefully get the rest of this season of EMH. If not I will never watch another Marvel Cartoon ever again.

Did A:EMT catch the JLU bug or something? Do they have to cancel a team cartoon if it is done well?

Too many alts to list.

My guess is that they are retconning it to be more in line with the movies.

its a completely new series, EMH is ending after season 2. Lets hope they didn't end it on a cliffhanger.

Looks like we are losing Wasp, Giant Man/Ant Man/Hank Pym, and Black Panther in favor of Black Widow and the Falcon.

I can appreciate that they are trying to line things up with the movie, but I thought the line-up in EMH was a good one. They had good story lines that are spread out over multiple episodes. I even liked the unlikely buddying of Hawkeye and the Hulk.

Unfortunately, Earth's Mightiest Heroes couldn't beat their true nemesis: Nielsen.

I find your lack of signature disturbing.

EMH season 1 was great...

EMH season 2?! Ehh...I don't know it seems very sporadic and hap-hazardly put together to me. I've watched all of season 1 and while I was watching the first episode of season 2 I was like, "did I miss an episode or something?" "Is this really the first episode of season 2?"

The last episode of season 2 I've seen was about 2-3 weeks ago....*shrugs* Season 2 is still okay but...definitely not season 1 good, in my opinion.

The end of the article is really telling.

I LOVED the Spiderman and Wolverine and the X-men animated series that were out in 2008-ish....and they cancelled them. UGH. Seriously, those were the best ones yet. I was a BIG fan of the 90's X-men.....and now of this new animated one. I wasn't so much into X-men Evolution....

....but they keep cancelling these good cartoons =/

Although Unneccessary I welcome a Movie Aligned cartoon the very very misnamed Ultimate Spiderman is already this way so I wonder if that means they will share the same universe?

Spectacular Spiderman got canceled because the animation rights reverted to Marvel and that series was done by Sony.

Seems that the big comics companies are quick to "reboot" their cartoon franchises these days, with little time between them. This is right in line with canceling Batman: Brave and the Bold to make room for Beware the Batman, and canceling Spectacular Spider-Man only to immediately announce Amazing Spider-Man.

You mean Ultimate right? If so the reason for that is above your post.

Yuck! Avengers: EMH has been the only Marvel animation I've really liked. I loved how much it adhears to the comic books, but twists them in fun ways.

I've not heard about this "Beware the Batman"...

And I have to admit that I wasn't sorry to see the Spectacular Spider-mole disappear.

Can't the Marvel Universe accommodate a well-done animated Avengers series and a well-done, live-action Avengers movie that aren't clones of each other? Avengers: EMH had well-developed characters and plots and was faithful to the spirit of the comics. It was one of Marvel's best animated efforts. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

it the rule for marvel catroons can't last past 2 seasons. It seems a bit silly thought.

"And for us this is the end of all stories, and we can mostly say they lived happily ever after. But for them it was the beginning of the real story. All there life in this world and all there adventures in Narnia had only be the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of The Great Story which no one on earth has ever read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before" - C.S Lewis, The Last Battle.

The more that you don't hear of Beware the Batman the better.

I liked Spectacular Spider-man, though from what I understand, it was less the rights reverting back to Marvel and more that Sony was given the choice by Disney when Disney bought out Marvel to either keep the movie rights or keep the tv cartoon rights, and Sony chose the movie rights.

Ultimate Spider-man's sorta grown on me though.

It's just some studio person insisting that an Avengers cartoon HAS to relate to the movie in hopes of holding interest until Avengers II.

They tried the same thing after the Fantastic Four movie but the series wasn't very good.

I have not caught any of EMH's second season, but I loved the first and was disappointed to hear of the cancellation. Not surprised though, Disney XD is not promoted enough and not available on basic cable tiers, it seems that channel has trouble keeping these properties in spotlight. My cable provider doesn't offer Disney XD on our tier, I can catch the repeats On Demand though.

On the plus side it has some talent working on Assemble at least. Link

Now Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. has me worried. That just looks dumb, please let me be proven wrong, as EMH has handled the Hulk better than most media has.

and all they had to do was add Black widow to the roster next season and they'd have their movie roster, plus wasp and Ms. Marvel.

Started watching season one on netflix today and while I do like the show, I am not overly fond of the nu metalish theme song....Kinda wish they would have gone with an instrumental opening or something else....

While it sucks that disney/marvel have decided to cancel this, I can see why they wanted to start up a new one to try and catch the wave of the Avengers flick..... Although it would be smart if they released the new cartoon soon or perhaps around the time that the movie is released to dvd/blu ray...just saying....

just my 2 pennies...

Oh joy, Oh joy...
We kinda knew there was solid interaction w/the Avengers cast in USM (The linked Article is more a focus on USM getting a second season (uggh...) and a Hulk-centric show (be afraid...)). But there's a bit more in the TV Guide interview that's linked in the article.

All I can hope for is story pacing like A:EMH and nothing like the writing in USM. And let's hope AA isn't set in the same 'verse as USM...

Thank you for the time...

This. The Avengers goes from two women on the team to one. Maybe they'll throw in Maria Hill to balance things out a little (sigh).
