I was plannign to reroll my 50 archer/devices blaster into an archer/martial combat blaster.
Rewrite the AE arcs I lost when my old PC harddrive went sour.
Replace my old PC so my wife and I could play together again. -
Sylver Bayne will reaffirm his pledge to Recluse and stand at his side to face the end.
Throw-Down Kid, his sister Eagle Eyes and their ward Vertebreak will face it from atop the PPD HQ in King's Row
Pops Holmes will reconcile with all his surviving children and they'll go out in battle somewhere.
The other dozens of alts? Probably on the john. -
My first thought was F%#$ NC Soft, then I realized I got my money's worth. I have no desire to play any product from them but this one. So they'll not anything from me anyways. I just get the feeling that this entire closure is a pointless move that only makes them look bad.
So I don't have to boycott them, this is the only game of theirs I play. When it goes, I go with it.

To the Devs,
Thank you so very much for nearly a decade of quality entertainment. New friends. The costume creator (I would seriously buy just that). My dozens of alts. Never giving up when everything was telling you maybe you should. My wife and I have played this game since issue 2, we've been on the same server, with the same people all that time. We'll stay friends outside the game, but the game was what drew us together. I'll miss the memories, the people, the alts... so many alts.
I'm very sorry for how NCSoft handled this. Putting people out of work, suddenly announcing the end of an era in MMO's and giving us little reason as to why. I will personally not be trying any NCSoft products for quite a while if at all. This is my first and so far only MMO, and I don't see many options to fill the void for me or my wife.

Now that we have the retro bubble helm, I think we could get stuff like this:
Also, could we get a torso piece similar to the unitards worn by Abyss or Nightcrawler:
Maybe they could go under robes? -
and if we're talking about cultural clothing. What about India?
The above is fully possible in the game.
So is this.
I'd love for more than a few Culture packs similar to the Imperial Dynasty pack they did. -
I want this.
And these.
And one of these. Hats. -
I more liked the idea of participating in a movie. It gave some pretty good moments without having to run an arc. I'd like to see the cinema stay up year round, and have them add more features, maybe even limit the time on the runs of each one. Just link the in game theaters to the lobby map and let us pick which feature we want to run.

OK, I misread this as saying that the Thorn Blade isn't available at all. I take it you mean ported to the sets you listed from BS. I can get behind that. Also I'd love to see the impervium axe on a dual blade user. I know it has no point, but it is vicious looking all the same, more like a machete than an ax.

Considering it has been quite some time since we switched to the NCSoft launcher, it wouldn't bother me in the least for the wisp aura to go on sale. Honestly, I'd forgotten that was how it was unlocked to begin with.
The thing about these types of exclusives, I've always felt they should be timed. A few people get their hands on it and its like saying look what you can get in a few months. Especially if it was given out in a way that we can longer repeat, like how the wisp aura was given out. For the same matter I'd like to see the items given recently put on the market, the Zeus and Tartarus mask and cosmic aura. I couldn't keep my account VIP the entire time, I can now thanks to a promotion at work, but at the time of the promo my wife and I could only keep one of our accounts active at a time so we'd switch back and forth on whose account was VIP during that time.
In short, I want these pieces they give away to be available to all at some point. It doesn't have to be right now, just some day. If I never get them, no sweat. Its a game, and they put out plenty I will buy. If they put things like Dark Matter aura, Cosmic aura or the face masks up for sale, I'll buy those too. -
I like this idea. More of the shard is always a good thing.
-
I'd buy a target dummy. Especially if you could see it's power stats to see how strong your buff/debuffs are. I do't know if I'd use it to show off powers, but I'd definitely use it to test builds somewhere closer to a crafting table. I don't think I'd spend more than 5 bucks on it, though.

More slots. I make and play a lot of characters, each with their own concepts, backstory, blah blah blah. I have rerolled a few for the new sets and proliferations, but I'm out of space. On the plus side I'm leveling all my characters on Pinn, on the downside the Character Creator is my addiction. I can make plenty of costumes, but no more characters without deleting/transferring.
More slots. -
When I first started hearing rumors of Guardians movie I went and read their more recent stuff. Brilliant. Just good classic sci fi the Marvel way. Think Avengers meets Buck Rogers and you're kinda close. I would still have rather seen a Dr Strange, Heroes for Hire, another Hulk movie (with Ruffalo) or Thunderbolts. But I'll settle for what they announced and be entertained (I hope).

I don't mind giveaways, but I have no use for Twitter. I have bought every costume piece available as they've come available, including the old super boosters full of emotes that I never use. Hopefully the Dark Matter and the pieces that were given as loyalty giveaways will be offered at some point on the market or even as a tier 9 reward option. I missed out on the loyalty pieces due to hitting a rough patch financially and my wife and I both had to let our sub lapse for a few weeks. I'll miss out on these, since I work every Thurs (barring vacations) and don't use twitter.
I really hope the marketing/dev team consider offering these at some point to purchase, though. I was bummed about missing the loyalty stuff, but not much I can do with a family to support. This I'm not as bummed about, but I do love getting new costume bits.
I do really support the community team finding new ways to promote CoH via social sites and I hope they keep doing things like this, though. Even if I can't get my hands on the awesome prizes they're giving out via tweeted codes and such. -
Crane Kick still gives me giggles. Bam! Foot to the face and flying foe.

From everything I read on this, it seems more like a creative pass around, and it's more to the writer's liking. A lot of them have been on the same family of books for almost 10 years, some not so long. Bendis writing a series with the original X-Men sounds very intriguing. The single image of the Uncanny Avengers looks promising and is a team made of some of my favorite mutants and non mutants. Cap, Havok, Thor, Rogue, Scarlet Witch and Wolverine sound like a good mix for a team book. I have faith in Remender to bring this book together nicely. I also really like the idea of the Avengers recognizing they've done little to nothing to further human/mutant relations and seeing the X miniverse folded into the Marvel universe a bit more. Same for the cosmic miniverse.
I'll at least be giving Uncanny Avengers and All New X-Men a shot out of what they've announced so far. -
I've wanted a thrown weapons set in the game for a while. I'd buy it.

OK after seeing all the thread I could see why moving scaling radio missions to each zone would have a negative impact.
What if each zone had a "flavor" contact that hands out repeatables at the appropriate levels for the zone? These particular contacts would be accessible to all from 1-50 but missions themselves cap and you have to exemplar down if you want to run them beyond the level range of the zone. These particular repeatable could tell a kind of meta story like the tips, only involving goings on of the various gangs and the trainer of the zone. Running x amount of them could grant a zone themed badge or zone themed temp, something consumable like a signature summon of the zone's trainer or something like that.
I agree with the idea of the OP for concept reasons I'd like a few of my heroes to return to zones they've left to keep an eye on things. My forum namesake was raised in King's Row, but now he's "too big" for it. I'd think he'd go back to look in on things. But as I said, reading the debate on both sides makes it obvious being able to run 1-50 radio missions in Atlas a probable bad idea. -
Not only does it seem Marvel is prepping Big Hero 6, but it looks like Guardians of the Galaxy may be the next big non sequel Marvel movie. Also Edgar Wright has test footage of Ant Man to sit down with Marvel and discuss the future about.

I think I see where you're going with this. Not a bad idea really for the older content, UI may even just require a tab in the Oro UI that switches to "Lore" mode. Only downside, is I think alot of the arcs happen "at the same time" depending on level.
Maybe have themes to what parts of history you want to see in Paragon, perhaps bases on origin? Say magic theme starts with the early Hellion and progresses through Circle, and BP arcs? Science deals with events delaing with Vahz.
Interesting, but seems like it would be hard to implement vs how many people would use it. I would use it though. -
I think if I could somehow transfer my base and all it's contents easily I'd push to carry my SG over to Virtue. Luckily Pinnacle has a pretty dug in core and teams are fairly easy to get through the global channels. That and I've been on Pinn since around issue 3.

Wow, this thread got volatile fast. One thing that keeps popping up is the gambling aspect. I don't see the packs as gambling as in Vegas style, so much as buying a pack of baseball, Magic, Pokemon etc cards. You don't know what's in the pack, it's a total mystery. You can be sure, though, that around 2/3's of the pack of cards is garbage. You have the off chance of getting that rare that hooks you. But out of the 3-5 bucks you pay for 12 cards, 8 of them may as well go in the trash with the wrapper.
The packs are nearly identical to this. Not everyone wants the ATO's, insps, merits whatever. All they want is the super rare parts. Except unlike trading cards there is no after market of people saying "I don't want this wolf pet, who wants to buy it for 200 bucks?" You don't get what you want and you get mad at the pack, the devs, the whole system.
I wouldn't be mad if they brought out the EO set for sale, or any other set for that matter. Tier 9 sets included. I'm also not mad that they haven't put those things on the market, its not ruining my experience either way. I missed out on the masks and aura they gave out recently due to hitting a hard time financially, but I'm not mad about it. One day they may be for sale, or not. That choice is not in my hands.
For me, the packs are neat. I don't have an attachment or goal in buying them, I usually just have left over points from buying something else. I pay a buck and I'm guaranteed something that costs more than a buck on the market. That's a better trade off than any pack of cards I ever bought. -
I rolled a Praetorian for each of the 4 paths and loved all 4, though Warden and Power were my favorites. Its definitely a challenge so if you run it, make characters you can survive with, but patience, insps and planning can get you through almost any situation. Big downsides are there is almost no one, at least on Pinn, so soloing is almost the only path, it's easy to out level contacts, no access to SG amenities.

Quote:Too true. I love reading some HPL stories, but they don't have the kind of subjects that appeal to everyone. The other downside is horror movies these days have gutted budgets compared other genres unless the film gets whittled down to a PG-13 to bring in bigger crowds. AT the Mountains is probably one of the easier to adapt HPL stories, I was disappointed that it got cancelled. I'd also love to see a new Herbert West: Reanimator movie and a version of the Case of Charles Dexter Ward.Hmm i imagine the other problem is that a lot of HP Lovecraft work is a 'downer'.
There are these big, unknowable things that drive a man insane simply by looking at them, they cannot be defeated once arisen by mortal man and the universe is a cold, horrid place that finds humanity insignificant.
Pretty hard to do a blockbuster based around that I suppose.
