Names that you are amazed you got

Since this thread is about names I'm amazed I got, I won't include names from Exalted, for whose launch I was present and able to snag things, or names created after name purges.

I flatter myself that I've come up with some clever names over the years, but the only one I've ever been surprised to have available was "Emissary," a character I created on Liberty around the time Titan Weapons came out. He's a sort of Herald of Galactus/angelic/cosmic entity type of character I'd been trying to create but unable to get into up until that time. I'd been planning on making him "Emissary of" Something if "Emissary" wasn't available.

I'm still suprised that I got "Not A Nemesis Plot"

He's a AR/Energy Blaster and is a Nemesis Automaton.

Really, the only ones I'm amazed I got on Virtue:

Opposite Force
Opposite Reaction

Maybe because of the lack of grav love, who knows.

I'd say I was amazed to get T-34, but I've had that name for years, and I grabbed Temp Staff as fast as the set was out on beta, so not that amazed there.

On Virtue:

Blackstick for a fire/staff tank.
Canain for a stalker.

Might as well add a couple more:

On Virtue, I'm still amazed that I got 'Catdroid', 'Imager', 'Spillover', 'Pantherette', and my favorite of all, 'Sponge'.

I'm not amazed I have them because I've been sitting on them for....uh....the whole run of the game. So at least that means I got them back when Defiant was worth a damn, so I was surprised then.

Those names are Catastrophe and Imperial. Of lesser surprise but also pretty damn unlikely to get were Barbarous, Pure Sin, Carnal Sin and Pure Angel. I got a lot of milage out of sitting all over 'Pure'. :P

As an aside, when I find out who took 'Khorak' from me on Defiant in the space one ONE F****** HOUR, YEARS AGO, AND STILL F****** HAS IT, I WILL END YOU.

One name i was surprised i was able to scoop up on Exalted was 'Incendio'. Great name for fire based toons, imo.

Unfortunately was not able to scoop us 'Incendia', which would've been even better.

Dark Astoria Dark Astoria I made in response to all the "Lord Darkity Dark of the Darkest Darkness" Villains.

I was surprised I got:
Alloy - tech tank in powered armor (This was like 7 years ago, but still surprised me.)
Captain Freem - I didn't think of this one until a couple months after the April Fool 'freem' joke.
Al Pine - plant/cold controller (This just works on so many levels.)
Numbers Guy - This can work for any tech or science character.

For my current tank (SR/StJ), both 'Fists of Furry Fury' and 'Furry Fists of Fury' were available. (I went with the first one.)

My only Titan Weapon character so far.


Midnighter's Club

On Virtue, I've been surprised to get: PinUp Girl, Tex Arcanum, Waltzing Matilda, Circuit Rider, Rainbow Serpent, Oriflamme, General Dynamics, and Auntie Artillery.

The biggest one I was amazed at was Flawed Clone.
I mean surely someone had tried THAT before!

Thought about creating Trapdoor Bifurcation, but that one would just be for the funny screenshot.

I've never really had trouble getting the names I wanted, except someone had taken Statuesque so I made do.

"Error 37"

Just snagged the name Fluidic on my homeserver Defiant and also Virtue, ready for Water Blast.

Also snagged the names Femme and Bio Human this week too! Guess I'm having a lucky streak

To be honest, many of the people posting in this thread just seem to be posting their favorite names and what they think was a catch. Really though, it isn't much of a surprise that people got most of their names. Many of them are made up compound words. Unless the character name is a common single or compound word, more than likely you'll get the name. The only names I found surprising in this thread were Alloy, Pocket Watch, Transform, Rosetta Stone, Cremator, Mangler, Roman Candle, Mr. Science, Mother, Epilepsy, and Avarice, to name a few.

The only somewhat surprising name that I ever put in was on my blaster, Dreamist. And even then that's somewhat of a stretch.

I was surprised that just a few months ago, I got:
- Guilty
- Not Guilty
- Hateful
- Millisecond

all on Champion

"Rocket Science"

This was a long time ago, but for my AR/Fire Blaster:
"Safari"

Still holding this one in reserve, until I come up with a concept I like:
"Sterling Silver"

I was once the holder of "Neverminder" on Virtue, but lost the name in a server move. I no longer play him, but it was good while it lasted.

"War Drop" on Virtue. Name will make more sense once Water Blast is out.

"Freedom Laser" on Freedom (of course).

"Wind Ghost" on Freedom.

And all the coolest names I wanted on Exalted, but got them during the headstart so they don't really count...
