Discussion: Take the 2012 Freedom Player Summit Survey!

I'm realizing now that I should have made this suggestion:

Zwillinger, for future surveys, you may get less mistakes if questions are always oriented so that the "good" rating is always on the same side.

I realize that this was my mistake for not reading directions, but if you want the most accurate feedback possible, I think this would help.

I'm still kicking myself for delivering the opposite of what I intended. Anyone actually reading my survey would figure it out easily, but I have the feeling the results are just going to be aggregated. Oh well.

Wow, that was tough to do. I had to work out which I hated more, Superpacks or Incarnate content.

Survey is done.

Had a good time at the Pummit and hope you guys make it up to PAXPrime again this year.

Survey seemed pretty well-done, though I hope they have a way to match up the answers to the first two questions for those who rated in reverse order for the second set.

I couldn't really think of anything to add to the super packs, so I cheated a bit and said "more common ATOs." I've only bought one stipend's worth of super packs and was disappointed at the number of ATOs I got. Should have added catalysts to my comment since I got none in my packs (I think). Those were the two things I was hoping for.

My only market request was a TW sword with a fully tintable blade. My TW character is themed around copper, so her only option was the Razor Sword, which I have to pretend was "reforged" at some point since it obviously doesn't fit with her Ancient Roman background. The Purgatory Sword would be almost passable if it weren't for the permanently silver edges.

I think my answers may be a little skewed because the individual ltems were not identified well from my perspecitve. I.e. I had no idea what some of those things were. Perhaps they were explained well to the people at the Plumit...especially the new power sets. What the holy handgrenade of Antioch is Nature's Favor or whatever it was? Water Blasting??? You understand. Some things just take more explaination than the name before people are going to get excited about it.

Not entirely sure what some of the options are, but they sound kewl enough, lol.

Anyway, not liking surveying that well, but I decided to take this one anyway

Those 2 kinda go together - you'll need to show at least a tiny bit of interest in the new Trial if you want the new slot

My favorite part of the survey was the last choice which let you explain what you wanted/opinion. Since they won't be read (jk) you guys just keep throwing costumes and powers at us. IMO the character customization is CoX's biggest most unique feature for me and I think tons of games fail when they get too far away from their bread and butter. So more costumes. More WEAPON CUSTOMIZATION. More powers. Lastly, MORE ANIMATIONS.

Person spaces also sounded pretty cool. I mainly only play with my brother and we duo all of our toons. So I would be interested in how this is implemented. Also an nrg staff...

That was kinda the point Golden Girl, I do not have any interest in something being locked behind a new trial. I definitly don't have any interest in doing said trial some five times to unlock the new trial. My primary concern there is to show that while I am excited about the hybrid slot, I AM NOT excited about having to get togther with 24 other people who likely won't bother reading how to do the trial, or having run it in beta yet like I have, and won't listen to instructions of those who have. That is frustrating to me especially on a small population server.

Now what should be done, in my opinion, and this is an opinion poll after all, is that the hybrid slot xp should be open to all who have already unlocked the other four slots via soloing in Dark Astoria. IE: if you already have Alpha, Judgement, Lore, Destiny, and Interface all unlocked then the new Advance IXP should start trickling in due to missions and street sweeping in DA, or in any other incarnate trial.

Locking new content behind new trials sets horrible precedent.

"Do our new stuff or else" is basically the tone they are setting. Last I checked they were giving us a sandbox to play in, not a railroad to run down, to use the PnP terms.

The precedent was already there - Prior to Issue 22 you had to do trials (or manage shards like a crazy person) to unlock Judgment, Lore, Destiny, and Interface. Then after awhile a solo/small team path was introduced. The devs have already stated that a solo/small team path will be introduced for Hybrid...just not in i23. So...they are following their own precedent. Just saying...

And like every other trial out there - the first few days will be rough and then once people get the hang of it - smooth sailing. I spend as little time on beta as possible for two reasons:

1. I like the surprise when it hits live
2. I feel like i am wasting my time earning stuff that I can't keep.

So my advice if your reason for not doing Hybrid is because of people who won't listen thus increasing the % to fail...wait a week or so to run Magisterium My next comment is not meant to inflame...it is just my observation and personal experience:

I left smaller servers once Freedom went live because I found the population less capable of succeeding at trials..and I love doing trials. I completely understand when people on the smaller servers get upset due to 1. lack of trials being ran and 2. horrible success rates; which is why I refuse to relocate back to those servers because being an incarnate is the main reason I continue to play.So while I feel your frustration....there are options if trials are something you enjoy...there are servers that continually...and successfully run trials. If that's not an option for you...then I pray for patience for ya GL and have fun!

Can't get it to work very well. Can't even get past page one.

That said, more information on their items would have been appreciated. For instance, anything I have to pay extra for as a ViP will lose a few points in the "like" area compared to anything I will get with my sub regardless of how nice it is. Having to pay for a solid "10 out of 10" type homerun release will make it more like an "8 out of 10" for me and some things that I woudl be VERY happy to see added to the game for free hold zero interest for me if I have to pay - such as more enhancement slots.

You just have to endure the trial (x5), not be interested in it.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

Is there a description of the stuff in the survey somewhere?

What I am saying is that I should have to endure group content to enjoy content that everyone has been chomping at the bit to have, especially not x5!

O and btw that's 5 successes! if you had failures in there it's gonna add to the number of runs, so yea... it could be as many as 10 or 15 times before that slot unlocks for the unlucky.

They gave us the solo path to the incarnate powers and a lot of players took that as a step in the right direction. "Finally a way to do this in small teams, and by ourselves, without having to do scripted trials and events" and then what do they do...

Scripted Trial and Event, You must do this 5-10 times to unlock the next power... and we might release it to soloists "someday"

You can see where my aggravation comes from.

Yes I will play the new trial... no I won't like it... that is what my post means... I am exicited about the options the new power brings, anytime the new slots becoming available is always going to bring me to a grin... but locking them behind trial content is not the way to go about it In My Opinion...

Even though I already gave a small list of 'wants', I'm going to keep going with it.

Long ago, we used to carry ten crap tons of BASE salvage on hand, and the storage bins used to hold 999 items. Then you came out with Enhancement Salvage and took our 999 item bins away, and instead gave us bins with a limit of 30 items....

WHY??

I rack up, every day, 60 pieces of salvage in an hour, and 9 times out of 10 my salvage inventory is completely full on every toon I have, even though a few of them can hold upwards of 70 pieces of salvage.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, for the sanity of all of us who use IO's (which is a good portion of the population, regardless of it being a set IO or not) raise the limit in salvage bins back to a 3-digit number. This would decrease the amount of storage bins we have to put down in bases, we might be able to empty our inventory more often.

I don't know if this has something to do with the fragile house of cards syndrome (see my post on page 5) that the base code is. And if it is, Devs, confirm it so we at least know why we're stuck with a 30 item limit in storage bins. We're an understanding community, and in comparison to those 'other' mmo's, we're a million times nicer all around than 'them'. Clue us in on these little QoL issues that have cropped up over the years, and at least acknowledge that some of us see this as a problem.

Finished the Survey and sent an email to my SG mates who don't frequent the forums.

I forgot so much in the "what would you like to see added" section. Then again a lot of the stuff I'd like to see added is already there, just locked behind a specific gender model.

At least I remembered to note that while there isn't much I'd like to see added to Super Packs, I'd love to see some of the consumables removed or at least limited to the COMMON drops as opposed to getting 3-5 of some single use power I don't give a hoot about as my RARE drop. That is a terrible idea and should never have been implemented.

I realize that Super Packs aren't going anywhere and are probably making you guys a boatload of $$, but I certainly don't want to see MOAR stuff locked up behind gambling and random chance. I still don't have the entire Elemental Order set (after buying a 24 pack) and will probably never get the Black Wolf pet with it's horribly low drop rate. I've opened around 1000 Super Packs on the Test server and have yet to get all 6 of the Tanker ATO set.

EDIT: Wow, that came out way more ranty than intended. I'm just having flashbacks to when I played Magic the Gathering and it's making me cranky.

EDIT2: To add something constructive to my rant. Add me to the group that wants global Midnighter membership, Global Patron Powers, and Power/Ancillary Pool customization. I would also like to be able to obtain anniversary badges on newer toons as I rerolled my main when WP dropped. Before the reroll he had them all.

five to TEN times?

....nnnnno. No.

To date, there aren't any particular chokepoints in this trial where failure is highly possibly. They're still tweaking things, but even adding a level bump to the trifecta phase hasn't done much to stop a whole herd of 50+3 from steamrolling it. Even if you somehow manage to fail it at the end, you don't get extra iXP from completing a trial, the iXP is earned from killing everything through the trial.

At worst, if you perhaps have a crash and miss out on a big chunk of the trial, maybe you'll need to run it a 6th time. But 10? No, that's almost certainly out of the question.

THIS for sure. While I understand that being able to hoard 999 salvage per bin and being able to have multiple bins in a base can get out of hand, 30 seems arbitrarily low. It seems reasonable that the salvage racks should be on par with the IO and Inspiration storage which both hold 100.

This issue, alone, is the reason I have 6 (mostly) solo sg bases. They don't like Solo SG's, and I understand why, but it came to a point where I had no choice but to open up another SG, just to store stuff.

Count me among the ones who did that as well. I took the survey at the Summit, and I think I ranked the choices with 1 as "want least" and 15 as "want most". If that's backwards of the way it was supposed to work, I think the survey is going to wind up providing lots of mixed and unintentional responses.

Also, is this survey different than the one at the Summit? I don't remember that question about cross-server teaming, player housing, etc. on the Summit survey. And if it is different, are we allowed to take it again? I might be able to clear up my backwards responses.

Yeah. I'm a relatively new player (Xmas 2011), and I have no clue what half the options are supposed to mean.

Right now I've stopped trying to fill in the survey. I came to this thread in the hope it had more information, I have read all the posts. Someone explained Amplifiers after the post by Gorgar quoted above.

I'm stuck on page 1, as I don't know what the options mean, and I can only make a reasonable guess for the costume suggestions (Mecha, Chain Mail, Cyberpunk, Halloween II seem to be costume options?). Night Ward, Summer Blockbuster, Hybrid Slot I have no clue what they mean. My Praetorian would love to smack the Tyrant around some, so I suppose I'd like that, I assume Additional Enhancement trays are in addition to the two extra trays you can buy now, the new Powers mentioned could mean a lot of things, and while I understand what the current Superpacks do (never bought one, I've stopped doing things like that after I stopped playing Magic the Gathering), I have no clue how a Rogue/Vigilante variant would be different.

I really can't give a proper answer if I don't know what half the options are.

You don't have to run the New Mag Trial that much. The devs said that there's a bug in BETA right now that does not allow you to convert threads to the new IXP. So sit tight. All will be well .

You know, now that you say this, I'm wondering if I did the same thing on the paper survey at the first Summit as well.

Edit: I also want to thank the developers for letting people who couldn't make the summit take the survey online.
