Why is the German Shepherd pet usually 100 PP more than the Lion?

Why does the Liger, a non-mythical animal, be represented by an animal with a scorpion tail? There's plenty of mythological animals you -could- have gone with instead.

Why are Vanity Pets so expensive when you can only have one out at a time? Why are they so expensive when they do nothing other than take up server bandwidth?

Why haven't things like Enhancement Slots, Auction House Slots, Salvage Slots, Recipe Slots and so on gone on sale yet?

I'm sad that COH wants me to keep playing other games. i feel that Staff Fighting is long over due at this point. If i'm not mistaken its had a longer delay then Street Justice....

I too am disappointed that beast mastery did not get a male lion and most of all that staves are not available once again. And to those that decide to quote my post in an attempt to defend the devs/producers save it for another time.
Asking them to save it won't save you!

To answer your question about the re-posted items: they have done that since the beginning. It is just a reminder of the last couple things to hit the market, nothing more.

@Winter. Because I'm Winter. Period.

The Clown power set (and everything else shown on April 1st--aka April Fool's Day) was a joke. It will not be released, at least not anytime in the near future... they are NOT releasing a power set that hasn't been tested on beta. FYI, Positron (the lead developer, not the NPC) is apparently terrified of clowns, which is why the joke keeps resurfacing.

As far as Staff Fighting not being released, I'm of the opinion that they're putting together a Weapon Pack for it like they did with Titan Weapons, and will put it in the store once that's been finished.

Ok we'll see... Thing is I will not be replying to anyone that does quote it for that nature. I am basically stating that they would be wasting their time in quoting it for that reason.

As has been said - that's not a liger.

The only vanity pet I would ever purchase, if it were to be made and released, would be a giraffe.

Yeh I got that much, I was joking, but... I did see a clown in Atlas with his powers being listed as Clowns Summoning: Summoning Happy Clowns and he was sonic. How did that happen? or was it a fluke/bug? And for the record I saw the Clown summoning and sonics font were highlighted in blue.

it came out first. That was the price they tested it at. Clearly it hasn't sold as well as they'd like, hence the new vanity pet's lower price and the sale on the shepherd.

You see I think this is where Paragon could make some serious steps to improve things and the growing disconnect with the players.

I don't think most players get upset about delays or schedules etc.... they only really get upset when they are not given timely information and in place of that is silence and teasing.

This goes from zero anger and total understanding with information and communication to 100 anger and calls for more communication in an instant. All of this could be avoided with clear regular communication.

The set is coming out April 10th. On April 7th you find a bug that will delay the sets release. All that is needed is to communicate this to us and it is understood by most. Other companies do it and this company can do it as well because they have in the past many many times. Why they are teasing and not clearly communicating about staff is a mystery, but it is also a huge bottle of failsauce.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

My guess is it was either a Paragon Studios employee furthering a the prank or someone who fudged together a creative background to make it look like power selections.

NO other game studio I've had experience with give the level of communication that Paragon Studios does. Quit getting your panties in a bunch just because they're not giving you exact dates on things. They haven't given us a release schedule with dates since December.

And FYI, the people who find the show-stopping bugs aren't the same people who report to the playerbase on the forums. Unless the QA guy specifically tracks down Zwillinger to tell him, he's not going to know why something got delayed at the eleventh hour... or even that it was delayed at all.

This isn't me "blindly defending Paragon Studios." This is me saying that your expectations are unrealistic and that you need to keep them in check. The only person at fault for your frustration is you.

Screw the Liger, would rather have Clown Summoning be a real powerset.

I'll make you a deal. I'll buy the Liger pet at the same time I buy the Clown Summoning powerset (after the set is exhaustively tested on Beta to be as bug free as possible)... deal?

First, I love the cape. FOREVER.

Second, there is a market for things of the clown summoning/ alive furniture even it if is a vanity pet.

For feedback: There is a portion of the playerbase that totally digs odd-ball antics, Alice in Wonderland, Wizard of Oz, Labyrinth, Bed-knobs and Broomsticks, and Circus type material.

Those April fool's items are things people actually WANT.

Including the fish!

Here's the thing though: You have to consider what percentage of your audience would want said powersets. Yes, I get it, you guys want clown summoning. If that percentage ((And its a very low percentage, even by the forums already only 10% of the playerbase)) is to low, then they don't make enough money off it to make it worthwhile.

From a buisness standpoint, there just isn't enough call for a clown powerset to make it a reality. To much effort, and not enough return.

First, I'm going to start with clown summoning. Yes; there is enough of the player base that wants/would buy this to make it reasonable from a business perspective. No; we will probably never see this become a reality because of one dev's unreasonable fear of clowns.

Now, to address staff fighting. The biggest reason for alot of the frustration (from my standpoint) on the delay of staff fighting, is that it was done before BM. It had less bugs, and alot less complaints on beta. In all respects it seemed ready to play long before BM; which according to feedback on beta forumas wasn't really ready to go live when it was released. At this point I can think of two possible reasons for the delay. 1st, they are saving staff fighting for the anniversary event. 2nd, (the lack of communication is what leads me to this conclusion), that someone at PS is actively trying to block the release of Staff Fighting.

I hope we can get a REDNAME to weigh in on these issues.

The thing I dont get about this so-called "fear of clowns" is how did Carnies ever make it to the game and stay there? Also it's a stupid reason, that's like me saying I have a fear of spiders as a developer at PS and decide to wipe the Arachnos VEATS and the mobs from the existence of the game...

Anyone saying that vanity pets are a waste are just being foolish.
They may be of no interest to yourself, but (sorry to break it to you) you're not the center of the universe and your disinterest does not make something a waste.

People also say that they are overkilling the pet releases... While I think that is entirely untrue and won't be true until they cover a wide variety of options.
You see, this game has basically been founded on variety and customization (from powers to appearances) and the type of pets that a player may want for their characters is no different.

That out of the way... I do think, with these pets' limited nature (noncombat, only one at a time and zero customization), a great approach would be to create some more domestic pets in packs, with a variety of skin/texture/coloring options.
The House Cat Pack could have a tabby, a black, a white, an orange, a grey cat... all a toggle power of their own, so that the player can select what they want.
And a similar option for Dogs would be great.
Obviously the first waves would focus around using the same model and just applying different colors and textures. Maybe, eventually, if they deem it worthwhile, they'd get to other shapes and models (whether it be poodles or rottweilers... a St. Bernard would be great, hehe).

So, paragon Studios... please don't stop... keep going... and maybe trying and circumvent the inability to customize them with a greater variety... and feel free to include them together and charge accordingly.

As for the Liger... I'm pleased to see something different... although, a different name may have been best (movie reference notwithstanding).

I did say the fear is unreasonable. On top of that carnies are not clowns. Actually I don't think I have seen an actual CLOWN in game, all kinds of carnies, but no clowns.

Also, I don't think Posi has a huge fear of clowns. He may truly have a small issue with them, but (even if that is so) it has been greatly exaggerated for humorous reasons and... apparently... for false forum "knowledge".

My 2 cents is that more than likely we will get new powerset next month or closer to the 8th year celerbration of the game. Marketing likes to crow and combine events together.
and for my taste they have hit the point of diminishing returns on vanity pets.

tin foil hat time

they could be releaseing these pets to get us to use up any banked points so when new powerset goes live, we will all have to purchase more points.

tin foil hat off.

by the way I will be passing on vanity pets(unless it is a girl in a dancing costume)
which i have one in a MMO in a galaxy far far away
