The anniversary is April 28th. But yes, that does make a bit of sense...

Please, drop it.
You don't know any more than the people you are asking to prove it.
Just leave it at that.
A powerset does not always have to be widely asked for to come into being. The developers are the ones who make the decisions and pretty much anything that they serve up (that is of the quality that they are known for) will be accepted, bought, played and enjoyed.

A Clown Summoning MM set isn't just a joke... it's just a customization theme for henchmen that definitely has as much background and inspiration as most any other powerset within the game.
I'm not saying that they will ever make such a set... and I am certainly not saying that they never will make such a set.
Really, neither should you. People have lots of requests. This one, at least, is not ridiculous.
And... count me as someone who would like to see them add it in some day (even though I don't request it enough to show up on doubters' radars).

The last "clown" I saw in game was Frosty, and apparently he was so destructive he made Posi hide under the table and also made the devs release a form of player tracking known as "globals"

on a more serious note: as of recent I have been having alot of issues dealing with loss, betrayal and downright tyranny. that's no joke. Iv'e also been put in a situation where I have had alot of people point out to me that despite all the grief I need to deal with, the business end of my situation has priority and with as many people that have been telling me, Posi I now tell you... get over it.

harsh, I know, but if I can get over my issues, so can you.

clown summoning please.

Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.

Never said they wouldn't. But there is not a massively vocal call for it. I see a post asking for it every now and then, but it never gets a lot of backing. Actually though, I said that if you can PROVE it to them, they are likely to make it. But until that point, as I said, its just an April Fools joke, and nothing more.

And with what Knight said I will end it there without a reply to the other guy...

Anyhoo, as far as these pets go. I would buy them, but they are too expensive still for a vanity pet, even account wide. I would like others that fly, but I would rather see costume pieces on the market weekly than I would vanity pets. Try hair, different capes, auras there's a ton of things that would be better than vanity pets...

Thats all I am sayin...

Great, just what we need, more dog frames...because we don't have enough as it is. I'd have thought you squeezed this for every penny already but apparently not. City of Heroes: Dog Impound, the next expansion.

Costume pieces, definitely. They could even do a whole clown custume pack. Hair pieces, hats, different face make-ups, shoes, a clown nose for face detail, all kinds of options there.
(sorry, had to keep the clown theme running.)
I would definitely pay for a clown pack though.

Now, to address staff fighting. The biggest reason for alot of the frustration (from my standpoint) on the delay of staff fighting, is that it was done before BM. It had less bugs, and alot less complaints on beta. In all respects it seemed ready to play long before BM; which according to feedback on beta forumas wasn't really ready to go live when it was released. At this point I can think of two possible reasons for the delay. 1st, they are saving staff fighting for the anniversary event. 2nd, (the lack of communication is what leads me to this conclusion), that someone at PS is actively trying to block the release of Staff Fighting.

I hope we can get a REDNAME to weigh in on these issues.
I'd like an answer to this, too. And I'd prefer it from a RED NAME so that people like me can shut up about it. Why is it taking so long, and is someone really actively delaying Staff Fighting.

Though, I have my hypotheses as to why they're delaying it.

* In one of the UStreams, Zwillinger/Synapse said something along the lines of *recently* having a new melee set (Street Justice) so they wanted to spread it out a bit more, which may be the reason why they released Beast Mastery first even though Staff Fighting seemed largely done when we were able to test it on Beta. (It still upset me that they released a set that they said nothing about in Pummit in Fall 2011.)

* The Marketing team wants to, of course, make money off of Beast Mastery as much as they can. So they're trying to hold off as much as they can.

Again, if my suspicions are correct, I would love for a RED NAME to confirm this. Or even deny it and give us a reason as to why they're delaying it. I personally don't care that they delay it (within reason) but someone in PS should speak up and tell us WHY. We've known about the powerset since it was leaked in July 2011 and was confirmed at Pummit in November. Really, this is the reason why I've been raging. :\

Wow! You called out for a REDNAME Denji, and everyone stops posting like they are waiting for one to reply.

First off: <3 <3 <3 LIGER <3 <3 <3 Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Secondly: calling out for a redname to post is against the forum rules.

Let's not forget: the wind was really sucked out of the Staff Fighting hype when someone last year did some Pigg Diving (obviously) and released a video of the set.

So you can thank your fellow players who continue to break the TOS and release information. So when a set gets exposed ahead of time (thanks, pigg divers!) and ruins all the potential marketing and hype that might have gone in to it, you'll have to learn to understand why it does't get rushed to Live

I just re-read the forums rules and there was no mention of asking a redname to post being listed as a violation. The closest was a mention of posting PRIVATE communications between some form of staff and yourself on the public forums is a violation.

Yes it is and you seem to be the only one with bunched pink dot panties as you hurl insults for no reason other than being nasty. Good on you.

There are in fact other companies that do in fact communicate much better than Paragon Studios did in the specific case of staff fighting, they(Paragon) in fact have done a much better job themselves last month's post from War Witch comes to mind for one. That alone shows they are capable and they just dropped the ball here.

They need to be told when that is the case and all of us with our underwear in a normal place are telling them about it. Our legitimate feedback is just that and people like you with bunched pink dot panties and tinfoil hats be dammed.

They are aware they messed up and they made a special thread to deal with it. Cheers.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

Zwillinger addressed the reasoning before you even posted this.

Darth to which special thread are you referring to, I haven't seen any that address the lack of communication about staff fighting.

Heh, no pardon necessary, there have been so many topics and posts on this subject today, it is easy to overlook key info like that link. And it seems more than one person needed that link, so it needed to be posted anyway.

I'm a little touchy on the subject of "ligers." Here in St. Louis, we had a major scandal a little while back: a local exotic-animal rescue shelter was making up the gaps in their funding by intentionally breeding ligers for sale on what is euphemistically referred to as "the secondary market" (namely, to be butchered for their meat, blood, bones, fur, and teeth, all of which supposedly have magical medical properties in some countries).

But one side effect of that is that, because it was in the news here off and on for months, I know bloody well what a liger looks like, and that's not even vaguely a liger. If you were going to just make up an animal, you should have made up your own name for it.

It turns out that this liger is more of a Napoleon Dynamite liger (hence the scorpion tail) than a real liger.

I'm OK with people not liking that. <shrug>
