Converters only through Reward Merits in last patch (Mar 20)

Converters are only available through the Reward Merit Vendors in the Live environment. On Beta, they're available also through Astrals, Empyreans, and Alignment Merits.

Since it costs 10 Merits to buy 1 Converter and it can take about 20-40 Converters to change garbage into gold... you probably could have already turned those Merits into gold an easier way. Until larger bundles of Converters are available through the other vendors, Converters are likely to be a non-player in the grander scheme of things.

Do they not drop from enemies? I thought that was also in the cards.

I have 1100 merits saved for this so i'll give it my best! But are they dropping from enemies too or only via vendors?

My first thought was, "Well, if there were any way for them to actually make money off this, I'd be really annoyed."

My second thought was, "Well, crap. The easiest way to get reward merits is to buy super packs..."

I actually never thought they dropped from enemies. The merit purchases were the only way I was aware of being able to obtain them.

Good luck with that. I just spent 400 doing in-set conversions and couldn't hit the one I wanted. I started out with 63 stacks of 25 merits in my email and am down under 40 from another set of conversions, and only hit 2 things I was trying to hit out of that run.

They introduced the least-optimal, most cash-relevant, option first. This is about as skeezy a move as I've ever seen this team pull, and I'm really disappointed in them.

They DO drop from enemies. I just ran a mission from Ephram Sha and one dropped for me.

the pvp IO niches are down to about 1 billion for glad proc and pancea. Shield wall is at 200m.

I am an ebil markeeter and will steal your moneiz ...correction stole your moneiz. I support keeping the poor down because it is impossible to make moneiz in this game.

10 single converts used and majority are "good" with me also getting the pancea proc + shield wall proc x) Happy days for me

Used about 500 reward merits total, got 2 shield wall procs, 1 panacea proc, and 1 gladiator armor proc.

Considering how many merits luck of the gamblers cost, I'd say this was pretty decent.

I am going to ask nicely to start.

Can we get a red letter to comment on why these are NOT being sold by the Ouro AM and EM vendors like on BETA. I have been saving my AM's and EM's for this purpose for more than a month and would like to know when those options are going live please.

Z?

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

Seeing that I just made roughly 5 bill and +3 def PVP IOs are down to about 300k now, I'd say that the converters are having a impact on things in their current state thats for sure.

I cannot write what I actually feel, but this is close enough.

/signed.

Although I don't actually think it was the "cash friendly" thing. I think it was to throttle the ripple effects that are going to go through the market.

...badly. I think it was to throttle those effects, and I think it did it badly.

That said, I'd like to be able to spend my Alignment Merits, plz.

Can confirm that I did get a converter through running a normal story arc mission.

You mean 300 million, right?

That is still a drastic drop, but, that could mean just the 2 billion bids were cleared out and people selling them for 300 million are taking a big loss.

Or, I could be underestimating people's willingness to spend Merits when the hope of spending Astrals and Emps for a bigger bang for the buck might still be coming down the pike.

I just converted all I wanted to convert (which was mostly purples for my Staff/Ea toon) and I STILL have 12,048 reward merits unclaimed in my e-mail.

I am not to worried. If anything they are trying to bleed them off of people like me.

Seems fair enough to me...Reward Merits are still easy enough to get....or are people no longer running TFs, SSA arcs, heck even regular story arcs anymore? Sure you can get a decent amount from Super Packs, but there are numerous ways to get them in game easily too.

Don't I know you???

Yeah, I did mean 300m and the price is dropping. And its so easy to get the +3 now. I made and sold 5 myself today until the price went too low to be worth it. And I just used the merits I had from super packs. Didnt have to buy a thing... again anyway.

I was unlucky in getting to the proc. Burning 3 at a time eats through *a lot* of Reward Merits.

But apparently some people have *lots and lots* of Reward Merits. Good for them. Make cheap Purples and PvP procs. Make them like the wind!!!

How exactly do the converters work?

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

I honestly thought they would sell converters in the Paragon Market. I am a bit surprised.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

I don't care how many converters it takes... I'm happy to say "screw you" to the power marketeers who dominate the market.
