  1. Can confirm that I did get a converter through running a normal story arc mission.
  2. ****Sorry please delete. Simply took a while to update to the game client****

    Hey guys,

I'm sure this has been asked previously, but I can't find it through searching the forums.

Coming back to this game now after some time, and when I re-subscribed to VIP, I thought that would 'unlock' most of the new(er) power sets that have been released.

I was mostly looking to play a start a Dom with the new Darkness power sets, but they still are 'locked' during the character creation screen.

Do I have to buy these sets with points, or should they be unlocked after I re-subbed?

    Thanks!
  3. Hey guys,

Just finishing up getting my STJ/Elec brute up to 50 and would like some advice on where I can improve my build.

Main objective is to run incarnate content and solo AVs.

Currently, have around 35% defense to S/L and F/C, but am thinking of swapping the F/C defense to try and cap the S/L.

Also tried to get hasten as close to perma as possible for attack chain and Energize availability.

Any ways, please leave me some feedback or suggestions.

    Cheers!

First off, MA is teh sexiest of all primaries (I know BS might dispute this ) and has great single target damage and as well some decent knockback/down mitigation.

Please please please don't pick a power based on whether or not it will make you attractive to a team. Pick whatever tickles your fancy or at least helps your build.

I'm at work so I can't comment too much on your build, but here are some quick thoughts:

-60% melee defense is not needed with SR. Trim that back to ~45% by getting rid of the ToD's in your melee attacks for recharge bonus based sets

-you don't need 2 recharges in practiced brawler; 1 is more than sufficient

If you're looking to mix/max your build let me know and I'll brew something up, but other than the above changes, it looks you've covered everything and should be fun to play!

    Cheers!

SR is definitely top of the top tier IMO. Once you're soft-capped, have some form of heal, and have a decent amount of recharge, it's pretty sick to see what the set can do.

Don't know about how great a farmer it is but soloing AVs is its specialty.
  6. Thanks for all your opinions, guys.

I'm still at a standstill on what to make. I started a claws/ea last night and it felt squishy (but what doesn't until IO's). I might start an /INV tonight and see where it takes me.

The problem I'll have I think with EA is not being soft-capped or even really close until 40+.
That's a long time. I think /INV will be more sturdy from the get go and maybe that will translate into me liking the toon more. Who knows. I have gotten 2 /SR's to 50 and they are late bloomers so maybe I'll just give /EA a shot.

    Here's hoping!
  7. Hey guys,

I'm going to roll a new I16 Claws brute and I want some opinions on what secondary ppl would recommend. I have a few ideas but I'm leaning towards INV or EA as I haven't really dabbled with those sets before.
    Here's my criteria:

    -mostly played solo
    -be able to solo AVs
-not be too too expensive (~500mil)
-not be /ELA or /SR as I have lvl 50's in those already

So what do you guys think? Right now I'm leaning towards INV but I'm at work without access to Mid's so I'm kind of struggling.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just as you are doing here.

My claws/sr is a farking PvE god. He's a god because that's precisely what I turned him into using the set as it is now.

Your desires would cause the set to be overpowered and thus nerfed later on. I understand that you don't see it that way. I don't care.

The reason that there's so little in-fighting here in the scrapper forum is because most of us understand that when the various mitigation sets are fully slotted out with SOs, they all function within a certain performance range, some being superior in some situations while others win in different situations.

    We like it that way.

There's a thread elsewhere on the boards where folks are having the same discussion about stone armor that we're having in this thread about SR. Many say the leveling process with SA is far too painful and the set should be overhauled because of it.

Personally, I just hate the lack of mobility. I've voiced my opinion but I know I'm on the losing side of the discussion. Far too many people like the fact that after you get Granite, you're a god. Therefore, I don't see SA ever getting tweaked to my satisfaction.

    I'm ok with that.

SR doesn't need changed. If you want more of the defense from less powers, play Ninjitsu. If you want an HPT clone, play Willpower.

Beyond getting evasion earlier in the build, claws needs no changes at all. Changes should occur when a NEED is present.

That fact is why I'm no longer posting in the SA thread. And that's why this thread will go nowhere as well.
    +1
