I don't think we will be getting a space zone anytime soon. Mostly because...

In space no one can hear you "FREEM"

I have made plenty of choices for you to choose from and hopefully the pics will show that. The main costume is shiny fabric but I also made it to where you can pick the standard version that will go with all the other costume pieces. There are glowing and non glowing pieces that you can choose from.

I hope you will like it thus far and this is one of the funnest packs I have worked on ^_^

1. First up is the Male (yes this will be ported over to Female) and the bubble helm is working as it is a Detail 2 under Standard so you can pick whatever hairstyle, face or glasses you like.

2. One of the back details

3. The other back detail.

4. The female outfit. The hats, belts and Shoulders will be ported to Male and Huge.

5. Please take note the gloves are the Standard version and not the glow version.

6. This is to show a couple of the standard pieces and how they match the other pieces in the creator. There is also a version of the skirt without the bands/rings.

I really do hope you like it so far and I do hope we are going in the right direction.

Thank you for your help and support ^_^

Dink
Can we have the female costume ported to male too? (replace the skirt with some pants or tights)
Please?

Oh, btw, any chance of getting a peek at Loyalty rewards? (Only 6 weeks until we get the rewards, so it should be finished work already, I think)

Hi Dink,

I see similarities to CO's Retro-Sci-Fi pack (no bad thing) as the key iconic influences from 1940s/50's sci-fi films are well known & used, but if you fancied doing something their pack did not, how about a jetpack with wings that fold out on activation, players have ben crying out for a jetpack with foldable 2 stage (think F-15) wings since...err, well forever.
Maybe something for FX but maybe they could have them recognise the afterburner power being activated and fold-back into the swept-back position. Obligatory overthrust and plenty of billowing smoke FX on take-off please.

\o/
*wooosh*

Other ideas;
# A 'Gort'-esque (Day the Earth stood still) helmet-aura eye slit, perhaps with strobing (and colourable) glow in the slot.

# A costume change animation that has a classic 1950s UFO decend to hover above our heads before a beam shoots out the bottom enveloping us (maybe lifting us up off our feet in the process) [costume change] - before beam ends and shooting back up and away.

Good point. A set like this cries out for some themed costume change emotes. I suspect that means that they are already in the works and being held back as a surprise element, but I'll just put in a vote for "yes, please" to one or more CCE's.

Does it? I can't seem to remember people changing costumes much in those shows... Space suits were just 'on' after a scene change like people talking inside the ship, slide right, they are outside the ship in a suit.

IMHO it calls out for big square clunky robot costume parts with spinning widgets and blinking lights. ^^

EDIT--

Oh snap: Zero-gravity-esque animated 'tail' item that is a suit air/power cord!

Amirite?

I'm hoping the chest piece that they salvaged from space suit a will have blinkenlites. It was repeatedly mentioned in the space suit vote thread that blinkenlites would be TOTALLY AWESOME, so hopefully something will come of it. *fingers crossed*

*SOUND OF RECORD SKIPPING*
Wait holy crap.
MAKE THAT COSTUME CHANGE EMOTE.

No I'm serious. Make me a costume change emote where it looks like a scene transition from a TV show. you know, where a vertical line slides from right to left along the screen, (perhaps with a short campy message box saying "After our heroes change into their SPACE-SUITS") and the only thing that's changed afterwards is the costume...

That would be AWESOME!

you could have it all

Your logic is impeccable...

To go with it and the set: A travel power for the store. Hover where your character floats around turning randomly, ending up upside down or sideways, etc. Low speed flight, like hover but with no defense bonus.

Make a macro to do the costume change emote and toggle that on! XD

Winged sandals are less specific than space suit boots?

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

To me the space suit boots are just boots, potentially with glowy bits. Thus having far more applications for me than winged sandals. I can't fathom the winged sandals being 'less specific' than boots. Seems like an odd thing to assert.

Actually, I have to take that back. The WINGED sandals aren't, and that's one reason I've never used them... The other being I don't own them. However, just the sandals without the wings, like what essentially every civilian in Cimerora wears, really are less specific.

Besides, the point was about the quality of the graphics, I think. Sandals really do look like sandals, and there are many more implementation for them than just Romans.

Please make that star belt available to guys.

I don't know how feasible it would be, trademark-wise, but if this set were to come with a costume change emote, I think the obvious choice would be a "Transporter" effect complete with whiney transporter sound.

Well if you look at all the various "Transporter" effects we've seen in all sorts of sci-fi over the years I doubt you could say it'd be unique to any one show or story. Heck even Star Trek has shown us dozens of versions of a transporter beam during that time.

Since the 8th anniversary of the game is coming up next month I would guess we could be seeing it for that.
Given that Dink is still heavily modifying these, including still adding textures etc, I would say they're quite a way off.

The Devs (collectively) have never been in the habit of publicly showing us anything that isn't -relatively- close to being done already. I already accounted for the idea that for the 8th anniversary celebrations it still may be almost 2 months (end of April) before the sci-fi pack goes live.

Seems like a reasonably long enough wait for a handful of costume items to me. *shrugs*

You do realize you can delete your own posts, right?

For when you somehow make a double post.

Odd that the forum won't let me make a double post, but it does for other people.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
