NCSOFT may take away our servers and beloved dev team, but they can't break our spirit and community. with all your power, NCSOFT, your victory will be bitter-sweet. I, personally will be there to laugh at you when you face-plant into the ground.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. I know that the costume pieces males received were considered to be "badass" in general opinion, but are you saying that females were receiving pieces that only looked good on males?

No. But, you completely disregard the part of the playerbase that asked for certain pieces to be given to males, too. Females were not getting the short end of the stick; both sexes were getting different sticks, and both sticks were appealing to members of the other sex.

No. I never complained about what Dink did. I made it clear from the start that it was 100% awesome and what my opinion about these complains was. First of all, I play both male and female toons, so this gives my females more options. Even if that wasn't the case though, I know how annoying it is when the other sex gets access to a costume piece you really want. So Dink made a lot of people very happy that day.

My problem is that in that same thread, it was announced or at least implied that males won't get the same treatment. And as if that wasn't enough, there were a lot of posters that were quick to insult or make fun of or just show no understanding for all of those who requested such treatment. They even made arguments to support that males shouldn't get access to certain pieces. It happened in this thread, too.

You're the one who fails to see this from someone else's viewpoint. Male sexism is a thing, too, you know. I'm requesting for equal treatment, not worse treatment for the opposite sex. If you read my post about how this pack would have been perfect in my own opinion, you'll see females get to keep all their pieces, and even get some new ones, too.

So, no, I'm not saying you can't have the Baron jacket, I'm saying give us the pointy witch hat.

This pack has an astronaut suit in it. And females are missing a piece.

The boots they have are part of the second costume, the retro sci-fi dress.

Since when did "retro sci-fi" have anything to do with real life... well, anything really much less astronauts?
The "fi" in sci-fi stands for 'fiction' after all.

Thanks anyway, I needed a good laugh.

Huh? When did I mention real life? Yes, this pack is called retro sci-fi, but half the pieces are part of a space suit.

Even in fiction, I don't think I've seen a woman in a space suit wearing heels.

Really? Shows up in pulp comics and B-movies all the time (with allowances for what passes for a space suit, of course).

Well, tights and dresses definitely don't pass as a space suit.

So, yeah, I'm not talking about Ulala, but women wearing (fictional) space suits.

You mentioned "real life" when you compared an example of retro sci-fi to an attached pic of a REAL LIFE astronaut in space.

Then you apparently never had your eyes open whenever you watched classic sci-fi. Remember in this context "retro sci-fi" is like the pulp serial stuff from the 30s, 40s and 50s, not anything made in like the last 20 or 30 years.

You're apparently confused as to why SCIENCE FICTION characters don't have the proper foot gear to be in the vacuum of space.
No one said SCIENCE FICTION had to 100% correct or realistic, especially RETRO sci-fi.

Not anymore they don't, but they sure did in 1950.

Give me a link, picture, video, anything that shows a real woman or a fictional character wearing heels while in a suit that looks even close to this:

That's a fictional space suit, since it was designed by Paragon Studios, not NASA. The pictures that were posted, as well as the video do not feauture space suits. So, when I'm talking about astronauts, I'm specifically referring to space suits, not shiny tights and mini skirts.

I think then, in that case, I propose a counter-challenge to Hitback: Find any depiction at all of a woman wearing a space suit like that from a sci-fi comic book or B-movie made between the 1930s and 1960s.

Also, just to be clear, I am not even slightly against the idea of the chunkier, flat-heeled male boot styles being given to the female character models. All I'm saying is that for god's sake, if this pack were released without any go-go boots in it, that would be a complete travesty.

what part of retro science FICTION do you not understand? you have been given examples of spacewomen in heels, just cause you don't like the answers doesnt make them wrong...

What part of "I'm not talking about retro sci-fi" or "this pack has both retro sci-fi and actual astronaut costume pieces" don't you understand?

Women are missing a piece from the astronaut costume and the retro sci-fi boots can't replace it.

And no, scadily-clad women with glass bowl on their heads are not astronauts.

are you saying the (CoH) image you posted is an actual astronaut suit?

they were in the 1930s-1960s... hence... retro SciFi...

You know: Given the fact that no one will actually be walking, space is probably the best place to wear High Heels.

Check any resource defining what an astronaut is...

A person who travels beyond Earth's atmosphere.
A person engaged in or trained for spaceflight.

In no definition does it specify "high heels not allowed, only big, bulky spacesuits."

The pack does not have any actual astronaut costume pieces no matter how much you claim that it does. It does have both a male and female retro sci-fi space suit. That's an important distinction you insist on overlooking.

So, yes, scantily clad women with a glass bowl on their heads are not astronauts, but they are retro sci-fi and exactly what this pack is supposed to represent. If anything the female costumes pieces in the pack are overly concealing. (Not advocating for more skin, just saying.)

Here're some pictures: pictures!

That being said, I wouldn't mind some heelless boots for the female space suit. I generally prefer women, and thus also my female characters, without high heels.

It's a fictional version of a space suit. It's definitely closer to a real space suit that the pictures posted in this thread so far.

At least, when you see it for the first time, it's more likely to say "that's an astronaut", than seeing this for the first time.

Travelling beyond the atmosphere makes you an astronaut just as much as swimming makes you a sailor. Astronauts are trained professionals.

If a woman was wearing heels while also wearing something like that, how would you be able to tell?

Of course...

Ok, Ulala is an astronaut. Are you happy now?
