That is much clearer. I still don't think it's clear just who that is (though her placement does indicate she's important and not just a random hero like most of those along the sides), whether or not she's with Longbow, and whether that's skin or tights (that last bit mostly because the colors are so de-saturated.)

PS I wonder why Blue Steel got stuck back in the nosebleed section.

PPS I don't see Maria Jenkins in there and she's supposed to be one of Statesman's oldest friends. Maybe that's her in her old Madame Danger outfit. It still fits!

I do find it odd how there are three Praet Clockwork and an IDF member in there.

I know, I know, player costume parts. Most of them are just all of one or other of the sets, though.

Edit: Huh, I realise why Desdemona looks so pale. She's wearing a Carnival of Light mask. Nice touch, that.

I think that might be Apex in the lower right, but I'm not sure.

Edit: Nevermind, I now realize is a Stealth Longbow.

Mr Energon

Confirmed altimaniac.

Nah, generic Longbow Spec Ops

Can't be, he's not shouting "Level 15 Scrapper LFT" in the picture.

On the big picture, you can see Dark Watcher in the upper left hand corner between red clockwork guy and green guy.

I'd expect, given him and States history, he wouldn't be so far back, but then, for the character, maybe it fits.

Also, I just realized that this means Dark Watcher is the last living original Phalanx member.

I think the most telling is Ms. Liberty's focus on the casket with Mynx and Aurora there to support her. Call me an ole softy, but it is a very sorrowful and touching scene that choked me up.
Remember the multi-month "Funeral for a Friend" storyline that followed the Death of Superman? For me, that was the part of the story that had the most impact. I was thinking of that and the "Wake" storyline in Sandman when I drew this.

As the permanance of Statesman's death sinks in, devs and players alike will eulogize and commemorate in their own way. This is how I chose to do it.

You did an amazing job that, in my opinion, captured the emotion of that moment.

I spoke with Positron and Dr. Aeon quite a bit about who to include in the image and where to put particular characters--esp. around the coffin. There's a specific reason why each sig. character is where they are.

QFT.

It's a beautiful work of art; must have taken forever to do all those details.

Surely you have a couple escaped praetorian characters, Lazarillo? I know I do.

This. Disappointing. Love the picture, though.

Noble Savage confirms that Sister Psyche and Manticore will also die! Pass the word!

Well, I can blow up the new picture and your thumbnail. The colors are different, and the face thing is altered...but the lines, patterns, hairstyle, etc. all match.

It's her.

Very interesting.

So. Praetorian Penelope Yin is on Primal Earth at Statesman's funeral...

I'd find it really odd if it is the Praetorian version of Penelope Yin, because the Praetorian version was really messed up Praetor Tillman, then again, she does seem to have adapted her (lack of?) fashion sense.

I'm thinking they just have palette swapped costumes, so it really is Primal Penelope Yin as a full-fledged superhero. Her costume, in the picture of Statesman's funeral, is red. The Praetorian one is purple. I'm assuming this is due to the different 'factions' they belong to (purple from Mother Mayhem, red from Longbow, or possibly as a homage to States).

Granted, that is just an idea. Very well could be the Praetorian Penny using her new SG colors after switching sides. <shrug> Just gonna have to wait and see when the last two WWD SSAs come out.

He didn't exactly treat him like a worthy foe

Paretorian Penny says at the end of MoM that she'll now be able to be the hero she's always dreamed of being.

Also, they might be looking at some kind storyline about swapping places - Desdemona's already been set up as a Primal hero who's gotten tied into the fight for freedom in Paretoria, so they might be going to use Penny to show the experiences of a liberated Praetorian crossing over to Primal Earth - and just like Desdemona's joined the Carnival of Light, Penny could join Longbow - 2 heroes swap dimensions and join heroic organizations in their new home worlds.

Or, she could just be wearing red because she's always worn red, white, and black. It is kind of her color scheme.

You mean red, white, and camo green?

Another thing that always gets me laughing at those type of shows is the whole, "the person isn't looking at the camera, but we can just move the camera down and then point it to the person's face....like....so...zoom in and...there the person is y. Go get him/her!"

Really?! You can move the camera angle down and do all that from a STILL picture?
Why not? If they can track an IP address with a Visual Basic GUI they can do every thing they want.

In topic: Well, the last thing Wade says is that his next target is Sister Psyche, and she's currently in bed. So we can assume she mind-rides Penny to fight Wade.

FYI, the lower body on the "Mystery Character" is tights (if you look at the high rez version you can see the sheen/reflection). The midriff is actually the only skin showing (aside from the face I believe).
