I was previewing this pack just now and have to say it is really, really weak. The masks and head pieces are well done but there are not enough pieces and then add it is, basically, female only was enough. THEN that sash item is not like the one here; the item in the pack is bulky and seems to protrude from the toon. This was an easy no sale and, possibly, one of the weakest packs out there.

Yes, I know they said it was going to be a female only pack but I really hope this is not a trend. I guess I get to save some more points. I think it has been over a month since I've bought something from the store. Ah well.

I like all of the pieces in the pack (haven't viewed the weapons yet though). But yeah, pretty limited. Even for females you basically have 4 costume pieces: choice of 4 head decoractions, choice of 3 carnie masks, choice of 2 boots, and the sash.

So I do think it's overpriced... but I'll buy it anyway. The items themselves are cool, and I've wanted carnie costume pieces forever.

I think a more complete pack would have had a corset, gloves, maybe a shoulder/sleeve option for the corset... and a couple of male options but the sash at the very least. Too much work I guess, but then for what we get I'd expect to pay less.

But I do like what we did get. ^_^

You missed the point by miles...

I was not surprised.
I bought the pieces I wanted for my female characters.
Still piss me off devs dont modify or add a single piece based on player feedback in the same feedback threads posted by them.

Yep, we could had a higher-resolution reskin of the UVs for the boots, but those are awesome as they are...

Really, we know that.

What pissed me off is two things:

Price. 400 pp is expensive for 10 female items. (But I love them and I buy some of them...)
The feedback threads when they stated they CANT add or modify SOMETHING in the pack due to time and resources. I dont get it.
Of course I get it. You, as you just said, are the one who doesn't get it.

Read the Beta threads. You will find lots of outrage, if that's what you're after. All this has been said/done/gone over repeatedly.

You could also look at the feedback threads as, "How did we do with this pack? What should we do differently for the next one?"

This pack fulfills a number of my standing costume requests! It's also very nicely free of bugs at first glance. I'm really quite pleased with it.

5 Stars! AAA! Would buy again!

By the time costume sets show up in test it's pretty much a done deal. All they are concern about is unexpected clipping, selection, coloring issues and not what parts are available for what body type.

Changes may come later but in the time frame between test and live, no.

I don't recall a time they ever did.

Once the pieces go to beta, you're pretty much testing for serious flaws, not what avatarsthey can and cannot go on, they already know.

Maybe you're expecting to much from the whole test them phase of things.

I strongly dislike that we're devolving further and further from the Super Booster ideal of content packs.

I strongly dislike that anything below the 400 point level seems to be right out for costume packs, regardless of how logical they would be, along with more nuanced price points in general.

I strongly dislike that we're still stuck in the backwards and absurd system wherein I have to pay double or triple the price of a single part for minor variations of that part. (See: CoL Detail 1 parts.)

I strongly dislike that pricing seems to be entirely guided by what they think they can get away with and the raw market data, with little to no dev communication on this front. This especially irks me because the boards have proven well that folks will rush to buy anything Paragon puts out, regardless of quality or if they even actually wanted a particular part/pack in the first place, simply out of some desire to "support CoH!!!". That has to be smudging the metrics on some level.

Also, something that I have decided to make customary in costume threads: Paragon: Fix your prices and bring back Super Boosters.

Edit: At this point, re-pricing the market has become yet another thing on my list of "What I would do as a willingly unpaid intern/consultant for Paragon Studios".

They're pretty old. Taken originally from the Succubus models. I love them anyway but yah - they're slightly dated compared to some new stuff.

Brand I agree with an overly large portion of what you post. This is not one of those times we share a stance. Put the shoe on the other foot for a moment. What do you think the reaction would have been if there had been a male/huge only pack? I am pretty sure there would have been a thousand flaming posts screaming for gender equality.

This pack sucks because it neglects a large portion of the player base. Just like the gunslinger pack sucked because it ignored the female player's desire for more gunslingerish clothing. My annoyance springs from the fact that the desire for equality is a lie, because no one seems to care if it is equal towards males. Granted, that may just be my perception of things.

Not to mention there was talk before that people were willing to have packs based purely on gender made, and when it's done...complaints.
Only thing is, I wanted those masks for my male and huge toons for years. Not to speak of a sash for my WS.
The five bucks saved don´t really make up for me still not getting them.

Then you can take it as a proof that the devs just don´t like you personally
Probably would break something else if they just fix it w/o lots of extra coding.

If they´d at least go the whole way and add gender specific packs for male and huge only.
Like I suggested in another thread DE (including the Devoured-Cthulhu head) for huge and BP (with their fancy masks made usable) for male.

I choose not to roll females 'cause I don´t want to look at a female butt all the time... and the way they walk is just brrr.

You making the right choice.
I always buy it all then though... Mmm, I got no use for this, could have wait for a sale or just buy the pieces separately.

I don't have a problem with it. The Gunslinger set had things for males only that I would love to have for females, like the chaps...the Barbarian bundle had bracers that were not for females. It seems that things balance out in the long run. If you don't want the things, don't get them. I say keep bringing them on so we can have tons of choices.

You don't have to. It was a pretty heavily discussed topic in the beta forum. And a quick use of this wonderful thing called a "search button" would have helped as well.
