CoL costume pieces live in the market and guess what...

This pack sucks because it neglects a large portion of the player base. Just like the gunslinger pack sucked because it ignored the female player's desire for more gunslingerish clothing. My annoyance springs from the fact that the desire for equality is a lie, because no one seems to care if it is equal towards males. Granted, that may just be my perception of things.
I would of said the same thing for those who complained myself.

If the pack was centered around Male characters and complained it didn't have any female options, I'd have said "Roll a male character."

I do think some parts could of been more universal mind you. Females get access to the arm bands from the barbarian bundle set, and I don't see why the males didn't get them. The costume item just seems like one of those pieces that could be universal, and I think would of seen enough use to make it worthwhile to have made a male version. The same with the chest details the males got in that bundle.

I also don't see why some top details the females have access to, werent made available to males. Hacker for instance! No idea why they don't give that as an option for males as a design for their tights.

But I do think they should keep to the idea of what will sell, what will possibly see some real use and therefore not be a waste of their time and money.

Sadly, I think a lot of that means, more people are likely to use male pieces on females and less female pieces on males.

As "enlightened" as the majority of the CoH forums may be, I'd say the majority of player base isn't to this point yet.

Mind you, while I see plenty of tight wearing males in CoH, I see plenty of "What no! Guys don't wear tights!" comments, not to mention plenty of "That's not realistic!"

The last one gets me a bit more confused, when you'll see people say "It's not realistic to fight in tights!" but then go and request dresses for men. Sooo...fighting in tights isn't realistic enough in a superhero game, but fighting in a dress is?

I'm all for more options for both sides. I'm for a bit of variation in pieces out there (love that new belt with cape action that females have access to, but I wish it had a version without the stripes on it, so I could feel like I could use it with any other color and not just black to hide the stripes).

But I don't really see it as the pack neglects a large majority of the player base (and I do think male avatars should get a sash option btw and do wish they had maybe put in the OT to get that one piece ported over with the set) but rather, for those complaining, the pack neglects those who decide to neglect half the options of the character creator. Namely the ability to make female and male characters.

You know what, I've wanted those masks forever too, you know what, I'm still waiting. No really, they gave the CoL masks. They're not the same! They have designs on them that (imo anyways) are limited to a few concepts.

I'm still waiting for the white mask that one could hopefully put on a few of the face details (like Makeup, Dark Eyes, Goth Eyes, Small Mask 1-5, X Eyes...ect).

That kinda why I didn't mention them in the previous post, but did mention the sash.

I don't make female characters because I just can't get immersion when I play them. As a male, I just can't move myself into the female mindset.

If they had added a sash, that would have been enough for me. How they can continue to neglect a costume item that has been requested since Kheldians were released is so beyond me. Frankly, I think it is stupid.

As for fighting in tights, take a look at the K1, or old UFC matches where guys do fight in tights, or for that mater any High School wrestling match. Think a singlet is not tights?

I didn't say me I said other players. I can't be the only one to have heard, in game, "Guys don't wear tights." or "I'm a guy, I can't wear tights." many times over.

Thing is usually that... we want all.
Thats why they have to focus on giving same costume pieces adapted for both male and female.
I want Gunslinger chaps and Barbarian bracers for females.
I want sashes and Steampunk clock belt for males.
If we only have the same kind of belt for example, for both body types people can give feedback but is the same piece at the end.
Giving us different pieces is nice, but at the end is always the same:
WE WANT IT ALL!!

I wonder why these CoL mask are actual masks pieces in detail 2...
Is good to choose different eyes but it could be just different faces, like Praetorian clockwork faces.
The only thing we see under the mask is the eyes.
We could still use some other detail 2 pieces along with the mask if they were just some faces. Skin tone, 1 colour and details pre-tinted in a bright or dark version of the colour choosed.
Pity we can have the classic CoS masks, with the tear, lips and eyes painted.

*Shrug* In my experience, the guys who actively try to "move into the female mindset" are the ones who do the worst at it. Contrary to popular male belief, women aren't aliens from another planet.

Personally, I don't get the "I'm not one so I can't RP one" mindset. You're not a alien/superhero/elf/whatever, either.

LIES!!! The Book clearly says that I am from Mars, and my wife is from Venus!

Now seriously, it is what it is. I am not comfortable RPing a female. We each have our own hang ups.

Still waiting for the devs to make some changes to the pre-tinted costumes of Steampunk, or some variations of the Gunslinger based on feedback threads before those packs went live.
Thats why I say I dont understand feedback threads if they not modify or add options... Not before or after release.

The following is a quick 2 minute search through feedback threads where there was a lot of feedback to make the halos tintable. Guess what they did?

I'm just wondering how many years of asking it took to get that, when did the Halo's first pop up?

Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.

I'm just disappointed by the lockout of the CoL Sash from being combined with Jackets. The Costume Devs should let me decide for myself if the Sash will clip through the Mini-vest Jacket or not (and I'm pretty damn sure it won't!) ... or the Biker Jacket (again, pretty sure it wouldn't). Pretty much the only way to get the Sash is to wear Tights or Tights w/Skin, which is rather limiting ...

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...

I feel the same way about being unable to use them with robes. I really just want a decent kung fu sash, for which that sash could pass.

Those halos were bugged, man.
First versions of them were tintable, then stuck in nice and naugthy for years now tintable again.
There were always meant to be tintable.

I hope there are more tweeks coming in the future, because most of the latest packs were rushed badly.
I will think better to buy costume pieces from now on, if they keep this policy of rushed releases.

Can't resist a little teasing, but simply don't RP as a female. RP as a guy in women's clothing. Like Frank-n-furter in the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Don't RP the female character or say it's a crossdresser.

Agreed on this. I went to use the sash with the Victorian Jacket and was disappointed to see I couldn't.

This was a huge disappointment for me, as well.

Haven't been following the forums lately, especially not the Beta forums, which tend to be "have a look at this thing we're pushing live regardless of your feedback."
So hearing about the CoL sashes was a pleasant surprise. Didn't care about the rest of the set, just wanted that piece, for my male PB.
'Cept now I find out, he can't wear that piece.
Oh well. Guess I won't be spending any of my stipend this month.

yeah, if they would allow the sash to be worn with jackets, it would be a much more useful piece.

I feel the same way. I find the problem comes when people go the "Myself with super powers!" route, meaning the character they create has to feel like something they want to be. There's nothing wrong with it, practically speaking, but it is limiting. I find it's much more liberating to make characters you'd like to watch in a movie, as opposed to ones you want to BE.

Looking at my own roster, I have a lot of female characters, but I don't necessarily want to be a woman. I make a lot of robots, but I wouldn't necessarily want to be a robot. Maybe just some cybernetics, that I wouldn't refuse. I make a lot of monsters and aliens and I definitely wouldn't want to be a monster, even a cute one. I wouldn't mind knowing one, though, especially a cute one. I make a lot of villains, too, and I don't necessarily want to be evil. Not THAT evil, anyway. And I certainly wouldn't want to know evil people.

I now bang my head on my desk over a point either communicated poorly, or a point missed. Like I said, we all have our hangups.

Besides all of that, I prefer to play male toons, for what ever reason. I dislike this pack because it ignored male and huge models. I also would have liked to have the sash with robes because there is NOT a good Kung Fu sash in the game, but I would have wanted it on the huge and male model also.

Either way, the most I can do is not buy this one, and hope that nothing like this is done again. I really don't even want any all male sets. I would really like a fair and even break down of parts for all models.

Like I said - there's nothing wrong with that. Your dime, your time. And I can see how the pack is disappointing. I would have loved to use some of the head gear on my male automaton from the beginning of time, but he doesn't get any, and wouldn't have gotten any since he's using a Full Helmet, and I'm convinced the art team is unaware that Full Helmets exist in this game.

Yes, but you work on a free schedule. You are not working under a time constraint. You are also not having to simultaneously redesign a zone, new mission tile sets, and new NPC costumes, besides the one you are working on, in a specific time frame.

Come back and say that it doesn't make months once you've worked under such demands.

Now see, that's just not what you said before. Silly Zyphoid. And that's okay! Play what you like.

They did say there was technical reasons for it however, and I don't see why they'd lie.

What was it, pieces were made for the female model, and the Kheldian ones we see are likely made specifically for those Kheldians that have them.
