Character name policy/violation question
If the name would be against the rules spelled forwards, it's probably still against the rules spelled backwards, just as other methods of circumventing the chat filter are. If you're subtle about it you might get away with it, but it would still be against the rules if anyone notices. And if you're the same person who was asking about this in-game a few minutes ago, the name you chose was not subtle about it.
Edit: But AFAIK you won't be banned for such a name, it'll just get generic'ed.
Rule of thumb: if you have to ask, you probably shouldn't do it.

Bwahaha. Yeah I'm the same...and no it's not subtle. Just gotta cross my fingers then >.>
Goat, if you're worried about it, you can always petition yourself, and explain the situation. I would imagine the GMs are a bit more forgiving if you turn yourself in than if someone else does it.
Though in either case, I think you'll just get a generic name and then get a rename token/an e-mail explaining your options.

Why would they generic a character named Regnif? Or was that not the body part? Toof? Gnul? Wait, I know... Sugahpose?

WARNING: I bold names.
Just go with it and if it gets generic'd rename it. Pretty much all you can do. I see alot of names that should be generic'd go unchanged for months/years. The only real way it would happen is if someone reports you for it, if it doesn't upset anyone and no one reports it, then you will more than likely be keeping the name for a long time.
example, a friend that played a long time ago had a spines/regen scrapper named Garrfield (with 2 R's), which was also the spitting image of said fat cat, he had the name for at least 2 years, then someone went out of his way to report him and he got generic'd.
I also had a friend that got 3 day banned twice for naming characters after copyrighted super heroes (all his names were X ____ and one of them was named X Deadpool), but that was a long time ago, pre i7 I think. AFAIK they don't ban people for that anymore.

And yet there are people who will keep doing it:
CD: "I'm C1ark K3nt!"
*genericed with a message informing them that imitating other companies' characters is not allowed*
CD 20 minutes later: "I'm Gr33n Lant3rn!"
*genericed with a message informing them that imitating other companies' characters is not allowed*
CD next day: "I'm Clarkk Kkent!"
*genericed with a message informing them that imitating other companies' characters is not allowed*
CD an hour later: "I'm Wunder Women!"
*genericed and temporarily banned while the GM wonders to himself how anyone can use punctuation and still be so profoundly stupid*

As a further point of reference, don't pick any name on this list:

So does that go for MM pets aswell? I have nin pets named after the mutant turtles, individualy there wouldnt be a problem since they are normal names as well (to some degree), but what as a whole? (for some reason i could not use Leonardo and Leonarda had to suffice. Guess there must be some protected name, is that so?)

Best advice was given earlier. If you have to ask then don't do it.
They will ban for any repeated offenses, so multiple name generics, multiple language warnings etc. They usually start off with a 3 day ban then escilate it from there 7 day, perma etc. But it has to be the same type of offense, like 3 name violations. They do have a zero tolorance policy on some things that will earn insta bannings.

Kinda hard to justify zapping generic minions named after a group of cartoon characters who were themselves name-ripped from historical celebrities.
Then again, the company is based in America, the land where "litigate first, ask questions later" is the rule rather than the exception.
I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.

Ok so...I'm a little concerned about even asking this because I don't want to get banned but here goes...lol...
Against my better judgement I made a character with a questionable name that is an inside joke to my brother and I. The name includes a body part in it that is spelled backwards.
Is this against any rules? And if it is will I just get genericd and a free rename? I ended up liking the character that started as a joke...lol.
