I know this thread is way old but I gotta add something... and I fkd up this quote so it's gonna be ugly...but i'm kinda drunk and lazxy.

Unless something was changed recentgly ATOs were vip onboly as for trading merits for. Er you had to be vip to trades ATOs for mertits...other way arouynd. You get. it.

You aren't going to see any inflation or huge changes in the market unless one of these two things happens...

Something changes drastically in game...

Someone plays the market and temporarily messes up the norm...

A good example of the first would be with LotG recharges. They used to be around 70-90mil for a recipe but now are down to about 50-60mil because of Hero/Villain packs flooding reward merits.

A good example of the second would be...pretty much anything on WW. If someone has enough money to buy all of one type of popular salvage for 100k...then relists it for 1000k there will be people who will still buy it because they just don't care. By those people buying for that price it sets off a chain reaction which causes the next buyers to assume that is the normal price. Eventually things get back to normal but short term it's a pain.

Yes I could buy a bunch of things to be able to use the things I already bought...

But what you don't seem to understand is that I only spent money on the account to be able to join a SG/chat privileges. I spent 5 dollars on the account (got an error said try again...so I did...then it became 10 dollars instead of 5). So while yes I COULD buy VIP...why would I?

I could have investigated the packs more before purchasing. But I actually did a fair amount...on my VIP account I purchased several packs which is where I found out about the merit vendor ATOs. On the VIP account it said nothing about meeting a requirement to make them by being VIP...and since they were just added I did not think to check on the f2p account as well...since ATOs were available to freebies.

And again yes I can trade the ATOs to my VIP account. But that's not the point I was trying to make. The point I was trying to make is that premium players who can't do that really get shafted since they can't check for prices, or list on a market.

Hearing about the i22 thing is great but I have one more thing to say...Even though I'm a complaining pain in the ***...the things I'm complaining about are obvious problems. They are either extreme oversights or ploys to earn extra money from honest paying customers.

I can't make a new character. I only get two character slots and they both have lvl 50s. If I can use ATOs why can't I redeem something I paid for...for ATOs?

And yes you're right I can use reward merits for enhancements. I can make like 50 enhancements and sell them to NPCs because I already have HOs and +3 SOs.

It just doesn't make sense...at all.

Well I should have known better than to buy stuff from the cash shop of this game without testing stuff...

But I must say that I thoroughly enjoy how the packs were set up...

On an account that has only the 2nd tier of rewards I got reward merits. Cool! Except...not really. I can redeem them for Inspirations and Single Origin Enhancements. On this free to play account with 2 characters at lvl 50 that is very...uh...useless.

From what I've been hearing f2p players can even use ATOs. Cool! Yet again...not really. The reward merits I got are redeemable for ATOs...but only as a VIP subscriber. The ATOs I did get are not useable by my Archetypes...and this account has no access to wentworths.

Also why aren't enhancement catalysts tradeable? I can't get ATOs on this account so I should be able to at least make use of them on my Vip account (soon to be f2p again after this great money grubbing ploy).

Seriously...you don't lose what you pay for...because you never got what you paid for to begin with.

Against my better judgement I made a character with a questionable name that is an inside joke to my brother and I. The name includes a body part in it that is spelled backwards.

Is this against any rules? And if it is will I just get genericd and a free rename? I ended up liking the character that started as a joke...lol.

Ok so lets say I have a VIP account with a mastermind that I drop to premium. Do I lose access to the mastermind? I'm assuming yes...but that seems extremely stupid...anyways...

When you refer a friend what exactly do you get? Do you get 1 month VIP, 400 points, server transfer, and 1 reward? I'm confused on that part for sure...

If I was premium, went VIP, went premium again are my unlockable slots reset so I can redistribute them?

...Would that yield the same results if the serial includes 30 day sub?

I have two premium accounts I am kind of interested in making VIP for a basic "trial" run of CoH...again...lol.

Well it was an in game petition...but it was for general help I think and was answered through email. I don't understand why customer support wouldn't want to support customers...

...I could understand if it was a random free player question I guess. But I asked something that was directly about making a purchase...not to mention I've been p2p for 4 years so I don't really think that's a nice way to come back to the game.

Ok I have a few questions...

Does adding a Going Rogue serial to my account give me 1 month of VIP?

What game editions offer 1 month of VIP? Do the original COH/COV games offer 1 month of VIP now that the game is f2p?

Can I apply the same game editions repeatedly if they are different serials and still get VIP time?

Edit: Oh on a side note. NCSoft really needs to rethink some of the crap they are doing. When I ask support a question because I'm interested in making a purchase and I get the response, "We only respond to VIP players."...

I'm not all that computer smart so I don't really know what OpenGL is. I can tell you that this gpu can play on quite high settings at 1920x1080 though regardless of what that magazine says

Alright I messed with a few things and found some much better results. As for drivers I am using 11.12...and I just crashed for the first time so eh might have to roll back I dunno yet.

Anyways after messing with settings for a while I got up to quality without lagging while playing in 1080p windowed. I tweaked a couple of settings lower and disabled a thing or two but I haven't been lagging at all from what I can see. I'm running AMD System Monitor and it seems nothing is capping it's speed by simple things... but it's pretty obvious that my GPU would be the cause if I do feel a bottleneck.

I'm happy for now though :-)

Yes my computer was a budget build at $450. But it is a very solid build.

According to canyourunit and gamedebate my rig surpasses what would be defined as "recommended" so it does not make sense to me that I lag when I try recommended settings. My graphics card is by no means amazing...but like I said...I have played games with a lot more detail on higher settings than CoH will let me.

Any tweak advice? I know my computer is capable of higher settings than performance. It should be able to play on recommended at the very least.

I recently redownloaded Coh to give it another shot. Last I played I was using a PoS gateway with absolute **** specs.

Anyways I recently upgraded to a decent gaming computer. It's not "leet" but it should be about to achieve much more than it currently is with CoH.

AMD athlon II x3 450 3.2ghz
ATI 6670 Radeon HD 6670 graphics card
8 gigs ram

With those specs I should probably be able to play with most of the setting on high I would think considering I've played what I THOUGHT were more graphic intense games on higher setting than I am able to do with Coh.

When messing with settings if I go past the Performance setting I basically lag out when changing directions. That makes absolutely no sense that I can't even make it to Recommended with my rig...

So what gives? Am I missing something or does this game require alienware now to play on recommended?

That sounds like a great idea to avoid problems...require the person to attack every so often. I know this is getting complicated Dee but here's another thought. Allow Hibernate, PFF, and Phase...but a player can only use ONE of them...not a combination. Paired with required attacks, this would definitely solve the problem.

No Dee, you never will be able to make a choice that will please everyone...but here's my feeling...

Hibernate is a staple to Icers, without it they are nothing. Phase and PFF are luxury powers that an AT should not have to use in order to survive normally. So your idea to accept Hibernate but not the others would be a great in my opinion, but I'm sure that others will disagree.

In addition, if I do come to this...I'm willing to help you monitor if needed.

It may sound like I'm going against what I just said, but your plan to eliminate them all together was a better option. An Ice tank with Phase/Hibernate will NEVER die...that's the simple truth. A Controller/defender/blaster with PFF fully slotted will NEVER die, especially if it has aid self.

There is no answer to this problem aside from what you stated previously, that they need to be removed. However, I think I have an idea that would smooth out this issue a bit...Remove the ability for tanks to use tier 9s and remove the ability for all ATs to use epics. In addition, rule out Phase/PFF AND inspirations. This seems like a rough idea, but it would ultimately even the odds.

Goat is tough, but without Hibernate I don't stand a chance. PFF I can understand, that in my opinion is a "I win" power considering it overpowers all other in-game defense/res. Phase I can understand too to an extent...but robbing a squishier tank of the main power it needs to survive...that's just wrong.
