Proposed Meet & Greet, Baltimore/DC Metro

Meet and Greet on the 18th of February:

-Main event! We are meeting at Dave and Busters in Arundel Mills Mall at 6PM EST
- Cost at Dave and Busters is 18.50 a head.
-We have been blessed with the offer of a sketch done by one of our guests as a door prize.
- A drawing will be held for a Razer Naga mouse, as a second door prize.
- Still working on the "Task Force" Scavenger hunt.

-Preparty for those who can't make the 6PM at 3PM meeting at Starbucks in Arundel Mills
-Look for the people in the CoH shirts

i live only about an hours drive from arundel mills and could possibly do this if it wasnt during the school year, mid january to may is when ill be too busy with my final semester of college to really travel much

if it was at a time i could attend like during the summer then i would prolly try to make it

i dont really have suggestions, just hanging out in the mall would be cool, maybe movie or dave and busters or both since they are both in the mall i believe

The mall has several places to eat at we could easily reserve a group table for once we find out how many... and it does have a Dave and Busters, but frankly the real draw would be the theater's group program. They allow you to rent out a theater for a group and show any movie in they're digital library for your group in the time slot.

I am proposing February time frame to give us the planning time. We would have it as a day long event on a weekend for the students out there is the current plan I had in mind.

So we could potentially watch Dark Knight Rises, and Captain America in a single sitting for example, and have dinner at either the food court, or one of the restaurants...

The last one of these we did was a few years ago, so another one would be nice. The first one we did at a Dave and Busters, and it worked out really well. The second one was a picnic at a park near DC that I tried to help organize, but wasn't able to attend.

The theater sounds like it could be fun, though, especially if people didn't mind us talking through the film.

I will say, though, just because of experience that the Dave and Busters did work out really, really well though. Reserved a semi-private area there that had pool tables and shuffleboard, so that people were able to eat, talk, drink, and have a good time before heading off to play video games. A combination of theater/Dave and Busters might work, too, but would be decently expensive.

MM, I had never dealt with the D&Bers before, just the theater... but if you guys have run something from the D&Bs before and it worked out, then that might be the way to go, even if it is an Adult Chuck E Cheese...

if its on the weekend i may or may not be able to make it since i work on the weekends, depending on my school schedule i may be able to do monday or friday since i wont have classes on either day

I'd love to go, but money just won't permit it right now. It's a bit of a drive - and that's not including crazy DC traffic.

To up participation I suggest advertising on each server forum. I only found this because i occasionally check General Discussions. I know many people that only read their own server forum and dev notes.

I live in the area and I and my husband could come given enough notice.

I will be looking into getting a semi-private area reserved for us Saturday the 18th of February. I am going to go ahead and ask for this day off from work as well, take a leave/pass day if I need too.

I hope this day works for everyone, and thus far it seems to be an ok date, (past the mid point, on a Saturday, etc etc...) and I am taking Quasadu's advice, This is when it is, I will announce times asap...

Hope to hear confirms from you soon, I will begin advertising to the other servers en-masse when I have the confirmation from D&B.

I've made promises to attend such things in the past only to have RL get in the way. It'd be ~3 hour drive, but would be fun.

Can't commit at this time, but I'll keep an eye on the thread.

The movie idea does sound cool, but yeah, we'd want to spend time hanging out and talking and such. So, it is a tricky balance. I'd imagine a movie viewing would be more like a MST3K CoH-style!

My schedule can change at a moment's notice though, so don't ink me into anything.
If I do make it, it'll be with my CoH-playing wife (she just doesn't visit the forums).

So I just want to make sure this thing is still on as we're coming up on the date relatively soon.

Caught this thread about 10 minutes before I had to head out the door for work so please pardon me asking for details that are probably already in the thread:

1) Was it decided to have the M&G at Arundle Mills? Or more speccifically Dave and Busters?
2) What date were we planning on for this?

I helped organize the one Aett referenced at D&B ( I think I still have the pictures actually) but it worked out really well due to the distance to the Mall from a Metro Station. So if we can arrange that again I think that will help a lot of people with the driving point.

If we have confirmation from D&B about this date, I'll be there. Had a great time last time, and look forward to seeing people again.
