Well, I'll most likely be the oldest. So it goes.

Meeting "Internet people" is the same as meeting any other group of people, except that in this case you know you have something in common with them. If you want to, treat it like a blind date: if you don't like the way it's going, or the way it's making you feel, pretend to get an urgent phone call and bail.

Yea, but now that we've posted about that excuse, if I use that, someone can call me out on it. Joking aside, my final issue is just getting to Baltimore as I live in the Virginia area. D.C. Traffic Sucks.

Hell Vexen, kick in $15 for gas and you can car pool up with me. I'm coming from the Woodbridge area of Virginia.

I live in the Fairfax if thats any consolation. Guess Put me down as a maybe now. Just have to see if I'll be available when the day comes.

Cancel my last post. Just read through the thread and saw it being planned for the 18th. Going to be gone all weekend on a four day retreat. Figures my luck.

last time was a blast, everyone was very friendly, so to all the other introverts out there who are on the fence (i do sometimes fall into that category), trust me when i tell you that it was a great group of 40-50 we had last time, everyone very friendly, i think everyone settled into the group dynamic in mere minutes. much fun was had by all..... except the staff, who got a little nervous when turg decided to start crawling on the pool tables, that was until he promised them he would use coasters... which i think just confused them, but he got away with it, and we ended up with a great photo album record of the event!

Ha! I remember that! They really did freak out on him until he started walking around on the pool table on coasters.

But yeah, it was a great time had by all, and we don't care if you're 6 or 80. Last time I think I was maybe 24 years old, and there were several people younger than me there. There's no age restrictions there except to drink alcohol, but we don't force you to do that.

Weekend trip to the sister's was pushed back a weekend! Looks like I'll be there!

(Traegus, I don't think I've played pool since then, so my skill have probably decreased even further...still, you're going down!)

Looking at those pics is bringing back lots of fun memories - and yeah, I remember the coasters on the pool table.

That event was so much fun. I am really looking forward to next weekend.

I would love to attend! Unfortunately, there's a major anime con that weekend (Katsucon) and I have to go and help man the table for my webcomics group (www.tangentartists.com). It's one of our biggest and busiest cons, so I can't bail out on them. Maybe next time?

dude.... been years since i've seen those, good memories guys, good memories!
oddly enough, as i sit here writing this, i am wearing the same shirt as in the pictures.... this may be because i haven't removed it since the get together, i tend towards the obsessive sometimes. kidding kidding, i changed it once.

great to hear your schedule cleared up Aett, i just realized that you were wearing a Pats sweatshirt, and i'm a Giants fan..... oooohhhhh the abuse you will take! don't worry, i'll buy you a couple of drinks to make up for it.

and if Turg comes, i promise i wont put my badge there again.


speaking of the badges, is anyone planning anything appropriately geeky and labor intensive for this? i just think, even if it's a small purchasable item, everyone who shows should have a reminder, i still have my old badge, i would like to add to that collection. (read this with the mindset that though i would like some crafty geeky item, i am in no way volunteering for any of the labor part.... i don't do that......yucky)
