Who is that Feline Patron?

Just an idle curiosity. Since the animal pack debuted, PS' ad department seems pretty keen on including this particular character in a lot of the recent promotional art, from the Freedom ad with all the Freedom Phalanx to the Underground incarnate trial guide, there's this big Huge body tiger in leather pants and an X-harness. You can also just check him out chilling out in Pocket D with a few other feline patrons.

So, who is he? Or just coincidentally a fav NPC of one of the artists? :>

He's Tony. Tony the Terror.

I'd like to actually see that trio turn up in something. These are three "blank slates" that the Devs can work with, a small super team with a clear theme that we could run into from time to time.

Yeah, we know they're not afraid to dip into the animal pack for NPCs, s'how we got Grym afterall. Though, I'm kind of expecting the Shining Stars to show up in more future content too.

That's DJ Mao Mixx.
He keeps offering to take over when DJ Zero gets bored to no avail.
He's even offered to give Zero a CD with more than one track on it.
Also to no avail.

Best pun name of the day. That's right up there with this week's earlier entry, "Sidhe Bang."

I've already gotten requests to make a video for that character. Three guesses as to which song.

A bit slow on the uptake? Did you pull a Posi and start cutting caffeine out of your diet or something?

The feline patrons are emissaries from Cat Earth. They are here to discuss a trade agreement with Primal Earth. Mice on Cat Earth are extinct due to overhunting and they are hoping to acquire a large breeding population of them to take home so that the citizen's of Catopolis can once again enjoy their favorite snack food.

Bah. There are multiple cats, hanging together sporting their feline fashion. So what? What do we need to be more involved with them for? They have each other.

The real mystery and person I feel sorry for is the only flying denizen of PD, the lonely bird man off hovering over the dance floor.

His destiny is a lonely one. Pity him not, for he bears the weight of it nobly.

Also I'm afraid to walk under him in case of bird poop.

Wierd, I got exactly these words in a fortune cookie in Talos the other day....

That was a VERY strange fortune in that cookie.

"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"

"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."

Dude, our characters live in a city where flying people take the elevated train, aliens from more than one dimension invade fairly regularly, Halloween is motive for hiding in a bunker with food and holy shotgun shells, there are retail stores that sell bazookas, and walking down the street can get your body co-opted by ancient ghost wizards.

If someone's fortune cookie contained ancient mystic secrets which imbued Bulletproof Monk style powers on the opener in a flash of light and music, I am not sure anyone would notice. Having it just contain a really strange fortune would probably be a relief!

Captain Dynamic: Whoa, I opened that fortune cookie and you know what it said?

Ascendant: What?

Captain Dynamic: "I'm afraid to walk under him in case of bird poop"

Ascendant: That's it? Just that??

Captain Dynamic: Yep.

Ascendant: Well, I'm relieved.

Strange as all that sounds, though, you are probably right that that is the way it would come down.

No, no, no, no, no - I am far too busy.

Sorry people, I'm sitting here in my chair laughing so hard that pretty soon I'm going to need Topheavy Gs and her Gravity Control powers to stay off the floor ...

If Zwillinger will forgive me for "stealing his shtick" and taking off on a quick tangent (and I *only* found this thread because Zwillinger posted in it!) ...

When I came up with the name Sidhe Bang for my Storm/Dual Pistols Defender, I was ... mighty pleased with myself. Finding out that the name wasn't taken yet on Virtue made me ... rather excessively pleased with myself.

Receiving a private tell from literally the first player character who ran past me going the other way into the Magisterium, within 3 minutes of arriving after completing the Praetorian Tutorial(!), that essentially said, That is the most totally awesome name! ... yeah ... that was kinda priceless.

And the best part of it all is ... the pun isn't "obvious" ... until you say the name out loud.

And if I'm reading Samuraiko "between the lines" correctly ... does that mean you've received requests (plural?!?) for That Video from people other than me?

So yeah ... I'm ... inordinately pleased with my Gunslinger Girl ...

Sidhe Bang indeed.

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...
