Why? Because Basilisk's Gaze gives 7.5% recharge for the fourth set bonus. :3
Yes, I know that, and I was very tempted to buy them. Here is the problem, I have about 20 controllers and dominators who could use them.

For an example my electric/time controller can slot 4 sets. In the end, if I don't get bored and stop playing him, or find anouther toon I like to play more, I will most likely end up slotting him with 4 sets of them gotten ingame. It will take a lot longer and be more overall work, and I would love to just buy 4 sets for him, but 4 sets is 20 dollars. Thats a meal out with the wife. I'm trying to figure out where what I'm personally willing to pay lays.

At a dollar a set, I would try to get them ingame, and if they are not availble or cost too much, I would just grab them off the market. At 5 dollars a set, I'm not buying. I would guess that at around 2.50 a set is where I would switch from yes to no.

The problem is I want multilple sets, so its not just 5 dollars, it 15 to 25 dollars for 3 to 5 sets of them. At 2.50 a set, I could buy 4 sets for 10 dollars, which is my personal point where pocket change turns into real money.

The other problem is the level bracketing. Yes I know that many people slot Basilisks Gaze at 50, but why does it not go to 50. In the game, thats just the way it is, but now you are asking me to buy them with out of game money, which brings it into the out of game metathinking. And out of game thinking says that the reason it does not go to 50, is because a Dev wanted me to chase stuff in game twice, to up retention.

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure why there is so much bracketing in the system anyway, it just complicates everything and I can't see where it adds any value to me. If the Kinetic Combats, Basiliks Gaze, and Luck of the Gamblers had run from 10-50, I would have bought several sets of each for testing to see if it actually makes my playtime more fun and productive. The Kinetics I would have bought 4 sets of 4 to save to use on my TW tank when they release it. I would have bought 4 sets of Lucks to use on a SR tank I made but have not had time to play. And I would have bought 6 sets of Basilisk Gaze for my newer controllers and doms.

Right now when I get to 7, I start buying set IOs, and its good. There are some IOs, they are cheap, and the salvage to make them is available. Then I get to lv 20ish and I start having trouble getting the set IOs I want and the salvage for it requires long bids to get at a decent price. And then you hit the 30s, and the really good IOs are very expensive.

Which means more time at the market and less time playing. Or running a farming toon I don't like as much as the toon I want to play, but I need to run to get the recipes I want on the toon I'm not playing.

I've several times recently almost decied to just use common IOs till I get a toon to around lv 47, to save all the game time I'm spending not playing the game, but dealing with the market.

If the devs made all IOs so they are attuned, and got rid of all the bracketing, I think it would make the game much better. Probably not going to happen, but a guy can dream.

it is also a possibility that the Black Friday sales were not as great as COH Marketing predicted. And they want to boost the sales the best they can.I am sure they ran some sale models and if what they predicted and what was really sold was too far apart, that may explain the extension. If I was going to spend a extra 20.00 on something ,it would be a real item not a bunch of electrons.

I see this as one more step to becoming City Of Purchases, let us mourn the death of City of Heroes.

It's also possible the sales were better than they expected, and they said in a Neo voice "Whoa," and decided to leave the sale up and make even more money.

I feel same way about spending $$$ on electrons. I've got billions of inf in-game & will use them to get enhancements the usual way.

I have absolutely no problem saying NO to RMT transactions.

Pretty much.

The number of players i've encountered who have actually purchased something during this sale far exceeds the number of players who claimed they haven't (by a ratio of 16 to 1). Of course, this is merely my perspective based on the players I have asked. The most striking thing is the sheer volume of purchases made by many of those 16, particularly those spending more than 1000 Paragon Points.

Veridian Dynamics. Mistakes. We all make them. But sometimes mistakes lead to great discoveries. Mistakes are how we learn and grow... so we can do amazing things.
When you think about it, shouldn't you be thanking us for making mistakes? Veridian Dynamics. We're sorry. You're welcome.

Actually, it was extended because we recognized that there were many players who wouldn't get their stipend points until the 28th, 29th or 30th, so we decided to extend the sale until 11:59:59 PM Pacific on 12/1 to benefit those customers.

I don't suppose we could get some kind of schedule back, eh?

One that listed our billing date, server transfer token date, paragon reward token date, and paragon point award date, all in one place?

It's generous of Paragon Studios to consider player stipend cycles when picking start and end dates for sales. That goes some distance to reassure VIPers that they are, well, VIPs.

May we ask how the billing department is progressing with fixing stipend distribution for players whose billing cycle begins in the first third of the month? Unfortunately, all players with the 1st for their billing date are in an uncertain position about receiving their paid-for-in-advance VIP points.

Thank you for your attention.

It's moving towards being fixed. My bill date is the 7th, got my October points on the 12th, November on the 9th, so I'm expecting my December points on the 7th.

This has been my issue with buying any of the sale IOs.

If they were in the Market all the time, at somewhere around $1 an IO, then I can definitely see myself picking up things like Kin Combat as I level new characters, just for the convenience and levelling benefit (I level fairly slowly, so my characters tend to spend a lot of time at the kind of levels where the attuned IOs will really be useful). But I'm not willing to lay in a stock of them 'just in case', because I have no idea what toons I'll be levelling in the future. And I can't be bothered to respec just for exemping, when exemping toons are overpowered already.

That's good too. I also wasn't meaning what I said negatively. I actually hope the sale made good money and will help bring down the prices of some items for people in the future (enhancement slots anyone?). And fuel production of some cooler stuff.

I just want to thank you for allowing the option to purchase some decent IO sets from the store. It was a shame about the Numina error but i'll be picking up a lot of them when the problems are fixed and they're put back up for sale. I'm glad to know that any additional money I invest goes straight back to the game, so anything worthwhile that appears on the market i'll be buying.

I'd like to see more items made purchaseable in the store. I for one would be prepared to pay for:

- Purple IOs
- PvP IOs
- Incarnate material (salvage, shards, threads, Astral/Emp merits, etc).

Lastly, i'll throw in an extra vote alongside Myrmydon for adding Eradication to the list of IO sets to put in the store for the future.

Question regarding the VIP Starter Kit:
How many paragon rewards tokens should it come with?
I started a brand new account and I was expecting 2 tokens, but only have 1. Any insight into this issue would be appreciated!

One is correct. You get one token per month of VIP time. The VIP starter kit doesn't count as a retail code, so you don't get a second token.

Wow, thanks for sending me the e-mail today about the Black Friday sale! Just because it ended 2 weeks ago is no reason to let a glossy advertisement go to waste, I suppose!

Also, the ad for the "new" German Shephard! AND, an add for episode 3 of the weekly arc! All mailed on Dec. 8.

Please try my arcs:

Arc# 63910 "Why Do Bad Girls Like Bad Boys?" (length=Long, levels 40+)
Arc# 401500 "How to Be a Successful Professional Criminal" (length=Very Long, levels 1-10)

Try looking at the actual "mailed on" date, and you'll see that they were simply stuck in the internet tubes.
