Release the Hounds of... Sheep! (German Shepherd pet now Live)

German Shepherd pet now Live: 500 Points.

Video here.

Stupid Shepherd tricks:

1. Fly straight up. Unlike other pets that frantically try to follow you and run around jumping up on stuff, the Shepherd just sits there waiting for you to get back low to the ground.

2. Fly laterally and perch somewhere high that the Shepherd can't get to. The Shepherd will just remain where he is waiting for you to get to a place he can get to.

3. The upshot of this is that you can ditch the Shepherd anywhere you want. So, e.g., leave the Shepherd in front of Ms. Liberty and fly to the top of the Atlas Statue and there will be an abandoned dog in front of Ms. Liberty. If you're in TF mode, you won't log out. If enough people do this, Ms. Liberty will look like a dog lady.
500 Points.

500 points for a vanity pet? That's a little too much IMHO.

I have a new Native American themed character that would love to have a wolf pet. A German Shepard is close, but not close-enough (especially at that price).

Luckily, there is a Wolf pet option (no word on when it'll come out). In fact, it was the first one we found out about (use [Wolf Pet] to pull up in-game info). It'll probably look like the wolf models used in the new Halloween trial.

Also, I agree on the cost. At most, the vanity stuff should cost a single month's worth of points (400). On another (slightly threadjacking) note a unique vanity pet as a Tier 9 VIP reward would be pretty cool (doing specific costume sets for that stuff all the time might get a little stale, if only for lack of options aside from costumes).

Well, I was waiting until this week's announcement, but I think I will finally purchase the Halloween bundle since that disappears this Friday. The dog pet is very cool, and I absolutely love German Shepards, but I just don't need one in the game. At least you don't have to take this one out?

Of course, with this logic, they'll release something that I really want next week, after I've spent the points.

Great, now this game is going to be City of German Shepherds. They'll be all anyone will make -- characters with German Shepherd pets! Thanks for destroying the game, CoH Devs!

Woof. Woof woof, woof. Arf!

500 points is a bit much for me to spend on a vanity pet. Assuming it goes on sale in the next few months i might buy it then.

Also, post 9999.

Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...

Not only that, since its a toogle, using [walk] will switch it off, so you cannot take your dog for a walk.

One more reason not to go there!

I lol'd. Garnered a couple confused stares from the coworkers in the process. *Shakes fist at ZM, but grins while doing so*

It's 500 points. But, I'm hoping money spent on this goes toward funding a new Mastermind primary. Other than that, I do feel it's a bit high for a pet power. I'm investing in hopes of future progress.

The dog disappears when you get outside of 200 feet away from it and will subsequently reappear when you get back to within 200 feet (if you're verticle). It has no collision, does not have fleas, has had all of it's shots and is housebroken.

No promises on if it does the butt scoot or not.

So there's gonna be loads of GSDs hanging around in in Atlas sniffing each others butts?

Can't believe you are releasing these without at least including spaying/neutering.

After all, for 500 points it should be fixed.

Why would anyone pay that much for a pet that has to be fixed at a later date.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

So is the wolf pet no longer a future option? The Shepard looks great and I am sure it'll be a hit; it just doesn't fit my theme. Does anyone know if the wolf is still a possibility?

But does it interact properly with fire hydrants?

That's not the case.

I drop my dog by Ms. Liberty and set her as a way point. Hovering at 172 yards, I can still see my dog as a little speck. Past that, it's beyond the draw distance. However, going up to the zone's ceiling at 294 yards above Ms. Liberty, my dog is still viewable by other players near Ms. Liberty.

It's at a height of about 100 feet (33 yds) that the dog decides to stop following me.
