Kettenpanzer gloves?

So, it's a glove option, and it's just white. No fingers, it doesn't accept any colours or textures. It's not even the costume option white, it's whiter.

Are we going to see chain mail options soon?

Sounds like a mistaken leak. Just like how the Gunslinger Costume Set is on the market but isn't actually available.

Hence the "are we going to see chain mail options soon"?

Because it'd be nice. Chain mail shirts with Tunic chest detail options, new medieval helms. Or maybe it'd be Chain Mail Shirt 1, Chain Mail Shirt 2. Chain Mail Shirt 1 would just be the shirt, 2 would have the tunic.

And female characters would get a chain mail bustier.

Hopefully soon.

Don't forget that females will get a chain mail skirt and chain mail thigh-high stilettos!

I always thought the classic D&D joke was related to a chainmail bikini. *smiles deviously*

Which is precisely why we can't have a chain mail bikini. Just the same way people complain that this is becoming City of Final Fantasy with the release of titan weapons.

Also in Female tops with skin, there's Chainmail Pasties with chain mail tassels.

I think a chainmail skirt would be legit punk wear.

61866 - A Series of Unfortunate Kidnappings - More than a coincidence?
2260 - The Burning of Hearts - A green-eyed monster holds the match.
379248 - The Spider Without Fangs - NEW - Some lessons learned (more or less.)

If frazetta and vallejo are to be believed, that should have been in the barbarian set.

ok, and did a search since my German is rusty, it does seem to translate to chain armor, so yeah.

Coif!

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

Indeed. And if they were going to use a dumbed-down term for it, it seems like "hood" would be more appropriate. Unless they're doing something silly like a maille skullcap.

Heh, in this case, I could go with "less is more"

However, to be perfectly serious, I fully expect women to get "girly" versions of the gender-neutral stuff men get just by default these days irrespective of what set we're talking about.

My sister's pet peeve is when a company releases <something traditionally aimed at guys> in an attempt to rope in female consumers, and the product is exactly the same, except pink.

So what you're saying is...

Female Baron Jacket pre-colour tinted pink? So if we want a white jacket, it's pinkish? :P

I'd rather not have a dumbed down term at all. If they can use the correct terms for all the pieces of the Samurai armour, they can damn well use them for medieval armour too.

for items that allow it, mesh on tops and others makes great chainmail

You can do a bulky or whatever it's called top, with mesh to make a chainmail top. Same for legs. No mesh hat, so you need a medieval helm, gauntlets, and boots.

I made some very convincing chainmail armor years ago for a few of my toons - with my female BS scrapper turning-out much better than my male tank.

For my scrapper, I use Shirt>Mesh texture (instead of tights that the slightly poofy look you get from chainmail and its accompanied padding). Then I use a skirt w/mesh pattern (pencil skirt if memory serves). It gives a very nice chain hauberk look.

My male tank's chainmail looks more like a chain t-shirt, since there's no viable skirt options for him (just the kilt and barbarian pieces, which give a totally different effect than I'd like)

I would be curious as to how a new chainmail outfit would work. I could see it worn more like a coat, with a tintable gambeson underneath... possibly with a higher-res chain texture thrown in. In fact, it wouldn't be that much more work to add a few other textures to represent other flexible armors like scalemail, ringmail, brigadine, even leather and studded-leather armor.

I'll have to post some screenshots of my mail-clad characters later sometime. I'm at work atm, so no can do right now.
