I do notice the Thorns parts have a faint scale patterning on them that I'd like to see just as a regular pattern....people always want that Captain America look.

Well, you can make the thorn pattern less visible by putting a different pattern on the tights.

Think he (or she) meant the opposite... they wish that you could apply the scale texture from the CoT pants to other tights. Not that they'd like to hide the texture from the CoT tights.
