finding a new player and teaming with them to hear them remark about all the cool stuff i don't even notice anymore.
helping someone get a badge or beat a fight.
hearing from a player i helped a long time ago that they stayed with the game because they had fun that first night and have enjoyed the months they played. that really put a smile on my face, that pm stays till the servers die.
oh and hitting a low level hellion with crane kick in perez and launching them entirely across the street. also putting them in orbit with jump kick slotted for a kb io set.
those darn sounds of origin choices, i love them so much. when youa re making a new char and you pick an origin and it makes those little sounds...i love them all, especially science and magic.
When my scrapper is surrounded by mobs, hits Build-Up, then a PBAoE attack and everyone around him is dead. (I mean "arrested.")
Laying down trip mines and then having Rikti/Skyraiders teleport next to my blaster to engage in melee, only to go "BOOM."
Watching mobs cower from Cloak of Fear while my DM/DA scrapper takes them out at his leisure.
Having my spines/FA scrapper fall in a hard-fought battle. then using Rise of the Phoenix to come back and win the day. It feels magnificently spiteful. ("From Hell's heart, I stab at thee.")
Getting two Sequestration Rings on my StJ/Nin Stalker, then using Smoke Flash to make Siege and Nightstar stop looking at me. Then stepping back a moment, letting a ring vanish, and CRACKING one with Assassin's Strike (love the CRUNCH on Street Justice 
)
Going to Atlas, finding a random level 1 Hellion, then sending him into the stratosphere with Disembowel, Crushing Uppercut (Slotted with Force Feedback!), Lift (Gravity Control), Lift (Mind Control), Knockout Blow, or Wormhole.
Nailing a particularly vexing league leader with Headsplitter during the Avatar of Hamidon fight (If you are concerned about people seeing your messages, use Request instead of spamming League with all caps nonsense)
Nailing an entire group of friends with Atomic Blast while confused (I do love Confuse, it leads to such wonderful hilarity )

Self Destruction. There is no greater "Flipping the Bird" power. I only wish it was affected by Burnout, so I could use it that much more often (also, I'd have a reason to take Burnout

Any situation where standing my ground ends up in defeating stuff right as they are about to unleash something nasty and/or while at extremely low HP. For example, landing the final blow on Lambda Marauder during or slightly after Nova Fist.
Taking on seemingly unsurmontable odds and barely scraping through after wiping a bunch of times. Those situations when your teammate(s) just work with you flawlessly, without a word being spoken.
My StJ scrapper brings a smile to my face each time i play her. Newest incarnation of Sapphic Neko

Using a knockback attack on a low-level enemy on a rooftop and watching him fly out of targeting range is always satisfying.

Knockback attacks on enemies standing near a ledge. Particularly Romans on the bridges and towers in the last mission of the Imperious TF on a bad day.
Any knockup attack, whether it's me, someone else, or even a Grave Knight. Something about enemies bouncing off a ceiling and /or low level mobs achieving an all-too-short temporary orbit never fails to amuse.
Street Justice. Period. (Although I've cringed a few times, too. Rib Cracker and Shin Breaker on weak or unchallenging enemies who are getting up from prone? I kinda feel sorry for those poor ba*****s. Though sometimes I imagine the cringe on the faces of the med staff on the end of their teleport to the Zig' and THAT brings a smile to my face.)
PvP <whistles innocently> (win or lose, it sucks either way, but is still marginally fun. Like - or unlike - disco, a comeback to the good ol' days would be nice)

Okay, I misunderstood what this thread is really about. What powers/attributes of gameplay make you smile. In a word (er 2 words): Ragdoll physics
Seeing a good, strong power fire off and work, such as spreading disintegration amongst an oh-so-deserving crowd of LongBow or Assassin's Strike dropping a red-con where they stand, that Ghost Widow hold spinning someone around in the air like a disco-ball, those sorts of things.
I love getting a concept for a costume and having it work out well with the parts available and be something I've not seen done before. I'll probably never live to achieve this with the empty-jar-head option just released; I ran into a guy who was nearly identical with my first/only jar-head when I was just level 4. 
My ego basks in the glow I get from the adoration of MA players who run my arcs and leave fawning comments... shame that happens so rarely... I blame marketing, or all of the devs collectively for ignoring the big red "MA AWESOMENESS" button on thier desks that they could easily push if they weren't so lazy and I don't like their haircuts, or Zwillinger... you know, whoever's closest. Philistines.
I quite enjoy logging in to a toon I haven't played in a few days or more only to find he or she has some "surprise" cash rolling in from the market or is ready to go up in level and I'd forgotten about it. Nothing can quite grab me at log-in as "oh hey, time to level!"
