New Character Pains: Account Items

Is it just me or is claiming account items for new characters a real PITA? The issue is that once Incarnate items get mixed up in there, it's impossible to Claim All on a level 1 character.

In email section of options is the "hide unclaimable items" button. Switch it on and be happy.

I dunno, I find it way less tedious than how Veteran's Rewards were.

PERFECT! Thankyou very much. That's just what I needed. I didn't know it existed

My problem with is is that the scroll bar doesn't quite go down all the way. It makes it difficult to see what I still have unclaimed. I think I'll try this "hide unclaimable" switch, though, that should help out. Thanks!

If only there was a way to hide the prestige sprints.

At least the pets don't show up in the enhancement screen. I hate the scroll bar. It's way to long.

agreed

however, in doing this they also nerfed being able to claim the sg base items multiple times per character, so if you want to get the items again you have to roll up a dummy character to claim them then find someone to invite you to th sg then place them

Really? I preferred the way the old vet rewards didn't get in the way of anything else and didn't sit there glowing red because I didn't want to claim all of them on this character.

This is a song about a super hero named Tony. Its called Tony's theme.

I click 'Claim All.' Confirm a few power selections (blackwand, Sands of Mu, etc) and done.

Where's the issue?

Not to mention that there's no visual cue that you have new email because its always red now. My OCD forces me to claim even the stuff I don't want just to get rid of the red letters.

Excuse me, but I feel the need to correct you here. The proper abbreviation is in fact CDO.

It puts the letters in alphabetical order. As they should be.

Where to now?

What =is= impossible is doing a Claim All on a new character you're constructing. I'd sure like to have access to the stuff I already "own" when I'm making the character, rather than having to create the character as much as I can, THEN Claim All after zoning in, and immediately hit the trainer for a retrofit. <sigh>

The incarnate salvage purchasable items. You can only claim them on a 50 so they will sit in your email and clog it up on every sub 50 toon. It drove me nuts until I read about that option.

I wish. I refuse to claim them. They can annoy me in the email box or they can annoy me on the enhancement screen and powers list.

I really wish the whole account/character items was given it's own system instead of using workarounds like the email system or the previous badge system. Although to be honest I found the badge workaround less annoying. It was more frustrating to claim the ones I wanted, but much easier to later ignore the ones I didn't.

I do wish I didn't have to claim my stuff on every alt I make (still currently trying toi decide what AT and power sets I like best, so making sooooooo many alts) It would be nice if it worked like how they are releasing the facepalm emote, and you enter a code on the NC soft site and... all done, you then can access whatever you unlocked on any character on that account regardless.

So, I see where the big divide is...
It works great for claiming all (so long as you cut out the Incarnate shtuff)...
But it is quite bad for going through and picking each thing you wish (and ignoring what you don't currently want).

As I fall into the later camp... My main problem with it is the Email Inbox window is just so damn small. And if I try and increase the email window size, it only increases the email section, not the inbox.
So, I have a small amount of tiny email subject lines to pick and scroll through.

I hateses it.

So, yeah... maybe I'll just claim all from now on.

And yeah... I really dislike that the Incarnate bought account items are not applied to the account and that we have to select them on each and every character. Porquoi??? Porquoi????

Here's what I want: The option to hide certain items (such as the prestige sprints, as the common example) and make it so that when you hit Claim All, it doesn't claim hidden items. And of course, hidden items won't cause the email button to light up.

For bonus points, make it so that when we hide items, we get the option to hide the item on ALL characters (so that we don't need to re-hide them on every single alt or new character).

I think I need to contact support for one of the Paragon rewards. I took the Signature Hero power, but none of my characters have it, and it,s not in my list of claim able items.

Wait a minute, I thought you could only have one veteran respec "banked", so to speak, at any given time. Can one actually claim them all and keep them banked now?

You can only have one Freespec at a time. There is no limit on the number of Vetspecs you can have on a character (except the vet level limit).

Personally I prefer the new method of claims. I'm willing to put up with 4 unnecessary sprints in order to just be able to 'Claim All' on a new character. In either case, I don't see it as a problem that's in your face that often.
