Is everyone leaving?
I might roll something on Exalted but I can't afford to transfer all of my Pinn toons in one go, nor am I likely to use my monthly transfer token to do so piecemeal.
Given that free players won't have any access to global channels and PinnBadges/Coz is where most teaming on the server happens, I'd like to think that most people won't find it necessary to leave.

Eli Senpai here thinking about the VIP server-to-come when Freedom launches and I had a sudden fear... is everyone that I like playing with going to leave Pinn? I surely hope not, but I suppose it's a possibility.
I really enjoy playing low lvl characters, and playing with the potential incoming newbs doesn't bother me a bit, but if that's ALL that I have available to me, it will be very sad. I love Pinn. We are a very chill, friendly server. A little underpopulated, but that's okay because it ends up that you get to know many people and play with them regularly. I feel like many people will move to the VIP server once freedom launches, but I'm hoping that those people come from other servers. Does anyone intend on leaving/staying? <3 |
Never play another NcSoft game, If you feel pride for our game, then it as well, I Superratz am Proud of all of you Coh people, Love, Friendship will last for a lifetime.
Global:@Greenflame Ratz
Main Toons:Super Ratz, Burning B Radical, Green Flame Avenger, Tunnel Ratz, Alex Magnus
Nonsense who want to be cut off form the rest of the Community of Coh and go to Vip Only Server. Maybe some stuck people and Anti-Social, other then that I don't see anything else. Remember there people who play on Virtue who does rping and there really no other place for that. Also Pvp is big on Victory and Freedom so people won't leave those server just to start over again. I mean once someone find a server they like lets face it, it's kind of hard to leave that server.

I am staying put. I may roll something on Exalted if only to grab a name which I have previously found to be unavailable, but I am with you, playing with the new people is something to which I am actually looking forward. Like you, I am a big fan of the 1-50 game, and have reserved a couple open character slots to roll new characters for the express purpose of teaming up with the new people.
I see the most obnoxious Free players finding their way onto the higher population servers, which already have a base level of obnoxious players, so odds are, things won't change too much.

No plans to move. Hoping some old friends come back to the server as well.
I delayed responding so people could get their hopes up, but I'm here to crush them. I'm staying.

Taking advantage of the 6 transfers for 6 bucks offer. Moving 2-3 to start. To be blunt, the server is shrinking and this will only add to it.

Yeah, the devs are clearly trying to push VIP players onto Exalted. Discounted transfers, special events on Exalted at level ranges that you'll need to transfer a character to participate in.
Before you know it, jerk hackers will be dupin rares.

I doubt I'll move any characters to Exalted, though I may move some characters to Pinnacle from other servers with my free transfers.
If lots of people go to Exalted it will be crowded, and crowded places seem to attract a certain kind of person. When I play on Freedom I just don't like the vibe. It's all about speed ITFs and speed Lambdas and submitting your resume to the team leader before they'll even consider inviting you. This ain't a mission to the moon, it's just a half-hour trial, for gosh sake...
When you have a large population people tend to be picky and snotty and petty, which is particularly annoying when these guys don't really know what they're talking about. On smaller population servers people have to get along to get anywhere. Yeah, there are some jerks, but the smaller population size reduces your anonymity and constrains the most overt behaviors.
That's ALL the other servers need... a bunch of drunk Pinnaclites weaving through traffic and knocking over garbage cans on their way to other servers.
Best if we all just stay put here, where the authorities are understanding and there's always someone to drink with. Who knows... Exalted could be some sort of tightass tea-totaling server! *horrified gasp*
I'm staying put. Most of the folks I hang with are staying put. I think we're good here on our beloved drunk server.
I'm certainly not removing my best toons from the server. I MAY make one or two new toons on Exalted, but not going to move my mains out.
There's a difference between making it easy for people to transfer and kicking them out the door. Facilitating the migration of people who want to go is a good thing: you don't want to play with people who feel they're "stuck."

I certainly think it's telling that J_D, one of Pinnacle's mainstays, is leaving. This is the sort of thing I was worried about as soon as I heard about I21/Freedom (god, why couldn't they just pick a name that didn't match a server name? idiots).

Facilitating is one thing, encouraging is quite another. Discounted transfers are fine, but the new Exalted-only dev-hosted events, several of which are Incarnate-level and thus would require a transferred character on I21's launch, makes it worse. Clearly the devs will be paying less attention to the other servers going forward. Leave those servers to the freebies and the plebes, the elites on Exalted are the only ones that matter.

Donner, you leaving is... a shock, to be honest. Though, your statement rings true, I have just been in denial.
However, while I will probably take advantage of Exalted, I am going to stay put on Pinnacle for a while. The character transfers stack, so I can use them whenever I want. I would much rather stay and be pleasantly surprised by a bunch of newcomers than preemptively transfer my mains off the server, only to find a resurgence in server population.
@Winter. Because I'm Winter. Period.
I am a blaster first, and an alt-oholic second.
I think people will look before they leap, no-one will want to jump right into a Atlas full of looking for farm or looking for free farm or lvl54/+8 12 million pst (apart from those used to it on Freedom).
People and other servers are a lot less tolerent to that sort of behaviour and it is quickly squashed on the servers I play on.
Also you will also get a fair bit of time-zone difference, so population may not be great, in fact the only plus side from the VIP server, is that you have a chance of grabbing the name you always wanted on it (again useless if no-ones on the server).
Too many 50's to list here's a few you may know.
Slazenger, Area51, Area53, Area54, Erruption, Mind Plague, Thresher, Sheath, Broadside, Debt

I'm moving a 50 to Exalted, reserving a bunch of names and staying on Pinnacle with most of my main alts.

I'm not going anywhere. I might move a toon over there for the opening contests and to see what the new server is like, but have every intention of bringing it back to Pinn.
