Outbreak post Issue-21?
Wow, I didn't think of this until now, but I21 will be a problem for my silly ancient level 1 character, Original Name. I made him when I first set up the test server (Issue 4 beta, I believe), and left him in Outbreak and forgot about him for a couple years. Then I remembered him, and wrote him a weird backstory about how he's been banished to Outbreak forever, even put him in a supergroup named 'Guardians of Outbreak'. He mainly exists because I find it amusing that a level 1 in the tutorial has so many badges, even an Ouroboros Portal (because he has the first two anniversary badges, which unlock the 5th Column gladiator, which for whatever reason counts as time travel...)
Hopefully people parked ahead of time should stay, since I've heard that there are still people in the Paragon Dance Party, at least as of a year or two ago. It's a bug, but a rather long-standing bug, because they don't seem to ever delete zones, just disconnect them. I think the old Faultline and Rikti Crash Site might be in the game files still, too.
Proud member of Everyday Heroes (Infinity Heroes), Dream Stalkers (Infinity Villains), Devil Never Cry (Freedom Heroes), Enclave of EVIL (Pinnacle Villains), Phobia (Infinity Villains), Les Enfant Terribles (Freedom Villains), Gravy Train (Virtue Heroes), and more!
Full, detailed character list
I see no reason why they couldn't make Outbreak/Breakout optional starter zones for VIPs, or perhaps purchasable via Paragon Points, or, heck, just plain optional for everyone.

Why you care about a lvl 1 character in the old tutorial?

If the character has an amusing backstory or you have fond memories of it - what does the level matter?
I have to agree that I will miss the old Breakout/Outbreak, too.

I like the new one much better than Outbreak. I always warned new players that that game got much better after the tutorial. The lack of variety, the useless NPCs all frustrated me. That said, I still went for the badge on most every character I created and have spent many hours running round the little back courtyards and the like. I have some fond memories of Outbreak, but I will not miss it and like the new one much better. I am not at all convinced that leaving it in would be worth the developers work time.
I think the new tutorial is much better and its awesome.
More epic and more superhero feeling.
I was hoping either Statesman or Recluse would be teleported in by a mysterious voice that was guiding you through an escape from an alien slave ship during the tutorial finale to help you destroy it.
Weight training: Because you'll never hear someone lament "If only I were weaker, I could have saved them."

I was all 'wow, coool' the first time I ran it. But when I slowed down and had a look at its substance, I saw the man behind the curtain lol.

To me, the new tutorial feels about as un-epic as...well, exactly what it is; Everyone else doing all the Heroing and me being some sideline watcher.
In the start? BaBs and Psyche are single handedly holding back the Shivans. No sweat. Giant Shivan fight? Always gets dive-bombed by Vanguard jets and one shotted.
Terrain? Boring rubble that would be worthy of Boomtown. Glance of the Galaxy Girl statue? For about a split second.
The new tutorial is grating on me more and more every time I look at the damn thing. If you're going to hype something, at least make said something GOOD!
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Personally I think the old tutorials were a bit too long and a bit bland (to much running back and forth with the action to backloaded) while I think the new one is too short and but has a bit of drama about it (the situation does feel epic but the foes are defeated to quickly, due to NPCs, and it is over just as you are getting into it).
i like the new tutorial cause its a heck of a lot faster than the old tutorials lol, the new one can easily be done in 5 min or less and is a lot more fun (no stupid zoned mishs)
i really hated outbreak cause the zone was freaking huge and took twice as long as breakout to finish, breakout wasnt too bad, it was just kind of boring to run 50 times lol
At least Outbreak feels like it's a zone and not just a map

Won't the same issue affect anyone who is currently logged out in Galaxy City as well? Since that is going away with i21?
Make a man a fire and keep him warm for the day, SET a man on fire and keep him warm for the rest of his life.

New one is better, much faster and you get to choose any of the non epic at's to start out as a hero or villain.
This is great for dou's who want to form a pact but couldn't before, IE Tank and Corruptor.
Freedom Server - Main = Lil Bug & way too many alts to list
This thread inspired me to use one of my available slots and create a level 1 Hero to leave in Outbreak. Thanks, Eco!

But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Guys, even with Nostalgia Goggles on, the old Tutorial Missions are vastly inferior to the new one.
One assumes you will always be a criminal breaking out of the Zig, the other assumes that the First Rikti War ended a couple years ago. They're outdated and I could have sworn people have been complaining about getting railroaded into the story...
Still, I guess those "Beat up a bunch of Infected" and "Hey, you looked in this cell!" badges are important enough to start raising Hell about the new Tutorial...

I can only envy one whose existence is so full of peace, harmony, and tranquility that the posts in this thread equate to 'raising Hell'.

For the record: I want you guys who want the new stuff to have your new stuff - but I want the guys who want the old stuff to have the old stuff, too. There's not a thing wrong with the old stuff. It's just old. Not 'bad'. It's served us well for all these years and could continue to do so IF the devs would just be so kind as to allow it.
Why not?
I'm going to create my most lamest villain ever and put him behind bars until he rots. Maybe if other people do this we can have an annual "zoo day" (devs permitting). Anyone else interested?
According to what I read in one of the beta forums, any characters left in Outbreak/Breakout when I21 goes Live will be given the chance to complete their missions and then be instantly transported to their respective starting zones.
Any heroes with missions in Galaxy City will instantly be transported to Atlas and said missions will be purged from the character.
The Isolator and Jail Bird badges remain acessible via Ouroboros introductory arc missions which will now be available as of level 14.

After being less than impressed with the new 'tutorial' mission on Beta, I wondered if it was possible for me to keep Oubreak (which I am quite fond of) alive for myself, somehow. I rolled up a new toon, parked him in Outbreak, and then transferred him to the Beta server using the character transfer tool.
On the VIP Beta, he is still in Outbreak!
This is either a temporary bug-like thing, or when I21 goes live, my live version of 'Old Tutorial Guy' will still be in Outbreak too!
I'm hoping the latter, so i can visit from time to time and beat up a few Contaminated for old times sake.
