They might offer bundles. But I think what may be more important is that the concept of what used to be called a Booster Pack is going to be replaced by the a la carte concept. Will it really matter if you buy every "mutant pack" item when the very idea of there being a collection of items called a "mutant pack" doesn't really exist anymore?

Like Yoda famously said, "You must unlearn what you have learned."

Surprisingly, I understand how bundles work.

One reason I wonder about this particular instance is that the party pack seems to be cheaper in the new system (even than the old bundled version).

Also, being 65% much more expensive for non-bundle v. bundle is more of a mark-up than I would expect. Something like 20% would be much more reasonable. A 65% markup makes me worry that even the bundle will be more than $10 in the Paragon Market.

If that VIP then goes Premium, does he still keep those "VIP 12"? He should since technically they are bought slots.
Again, once you drop from VIP to Premium, you don't have any slots unlocked automatically. You're given a supply of Character Slot Tokens equal to the number of character slots you have earned/purchased in the past + 2.

You can use these Character Slot Tokens on any server (or combination of servers) up to the max, which appears to be 36 per server for non-subscribers.

Again I think you might need to let go of the old "bundle/pack" concept.
Buying items in this game is no longer going to be confined to "collections" of items.

Huh? There will still be bundles in the store. Even today's update about the Paragon Market gives a price for the complete magic costume set (which is presumably cheaper than buying the pieces individually). They may well still sell the whole magic booster pack as a bundle in the new store as well.

edit: The store screenshot even says "bundled offers" as one of it's tabs . . .

You're right, thats what I meant. I just wrote slots instead of trays accidently. Oops :P

Edit: Well trays wouldn't work in that context, but I can see how someone could misunderstand it.

Woot!, if so. But now that you can spend two hero points to get merits and potentially (unless I'm wrong) buy them from the ingame store, doesn't that kind of undercut the current reward merit price of 220-ish for the rares?
As revealed in another thread those are like purples: can only slot one set; are BIND ON EQUIP NON-marketable, and are AT specific.

That depends, how much can they charge for an "I win" button?

More new soloable content please. Level 30-50 please. Or at the very least remove the minimum team size restrictions from TFs so I can just run them with a few friends who don't think racing to see who gets to nuke the swarm of blue-cons first = fun. It's become pretty obvious to me that the majority of the player base wants an easier game, so at least give me options for not playing with those people.

The Paragon Store looks very cool and I have a feeling I'll be using it more than I should. (But I *NEED* more character slots and costume slots and super duper inspirations and... )

Anyway, one concern I have is that the description of items to be bought seems a little on the terse side. I would like to see a "More Info" button that brings up a window with more information such as:

  • Is item for one character or account wide
  • Numeric stats where appropriate, e.g. super inspirations duration/percentages, travel powers's speeds, etc.
  • List of power sets' powers, damage types, etc.
  • In-store (not just in costume creator) pics of costume parts
  • etc.

I can't wait for this to ship!

This. Requiring those of us who want more challenge to solo kind of leaves me cold when new content is bound to the concept of enforced teaming. The removal of team size limits for tf's is one thing I've wanted for a very long time.

Oh so being a vip lets you buy a previously 10$ booster for...10$ and having to use up your 400 points too....Yeeeeaaahhhh.

I personally totally expect package deals aka a full booster to still cost 10 bucks which would be cheaper then all the points paid piecemeal, which would let a vet buy that booster for 5 bucks as they'd be using their 400pp also.

Except, to pick a nit, this isn't true. I bought incarnate access with GR as you MUST own GR to access incarnate content (powers/trials). If I go premium (which I won't be), I lose access to incarnate content that I paid to access.

Remember they also mentioned in the ComicCon thread (think it was that thread) that uncommon IO's will be purchasable from the market too, not that that really does a lot of good when it's usually the rares that people have a problem with supply wise on the ingame auction house.

Per Month (as we'll be releasing a new "chapter" each month), with the huge caveat that they're included at no additional cost for VIP's. Account wide.

AE story slots.

If they 'crack' the limit on how many purchasable Architect Entertainment story slots you can get, I will craft shutupandtakemymoney.jpg pixel by pixel in MS Paint in thanks. Oh, and they will take my money. All my money.
We'll be cracking it wide open. Our current plan is for players to be able to purchase an unlimited number of AE Story slots via the Paragon Market.

Especially with the new options opened up with the next round of Power Proliferation! I like other ATs too, but Scrapper characters get the priority on space!
Believe it or not, characters are a rather huge chunk of data to be stored. Remember you have to take into account all of the character data (badges, power, alternate builds, etc, etc, etc) for each and every character.

The amount of lines of data that just the badges constitute on some characters is rather staggering.
