Discussion: Paragon Rewards program details
Yeah it seems pretty clear that you buy the 1200 points, keep the 1200 points, and also get a reward token alongside.
I'm just hoping I can de-select all of those ridiculous bonus sprint powers that are clogging up my powers list when I dink around with enhancements. All in favor of being able to rearrange your powers list on the 'manage' page?
I understand that its sometimes very difficult to give a verbal description of something which is easy to understand when you see the user interface. I hope that is the case here.
I notice that there are many posts along the lines of I have read all the details twice and I still have some questions. This worries me. Most casual players dont want to read through anything at all. The devs need to come up with a system where a new player can easily understand what options are available to them and make reasonable choices.
I wish they would post up the Powerpoint presentation so we could go over it at length without it being blurred by Ustream resolution....
I have only 1 question...how long before we can start beta testing this?
I mean on the beta you can get to the splash screen, and log in to server selection then it stops us. Q.Q
its not fair to tease, cofuse and make some of us orgasm and not let us play with it

I'm hoping soon, if its polished enough to show at Comic Con its polished enough to open up to us soon for Open Beta... thats if everyhting was polished enough for CC
As GG said, there's also Street Justice. Those 4 are the only officially announced powersets we know are in development at this time and will be out in Issue 21 (though not all at launch--they're planning to stagger them by a bit to keep things fresh). There's also "something in the works" for Dominators that will come later, but no official info on it.

There is no immediate plan to revamp, remove, alter, change, nerf or buff [Dominators] as a whole. I never said changes were coming. I said we had plans for the archetype. As in plans for power sets. So, stay tuned for that in the future! (And by future I mean post I21.) |

What, the bit about something in the works for Dominators?

*Edit, NVM just saw Posi's post. Nothing to see here, move along.
Check out the dev chat highlights thread, it has a lot of good info (including a few people mapping the current system onto the tiers):
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...266298&page=24 A rough analogy I like to use is that each spot on the chart (except of the first one) corresponds to one 3-month veteran reward under the current system. So count how many veteran reward badges you have and that's where you'll start. Additionally for every full year you've been subscribed you get one bonus. Since the bonuses follow pretty much the same order as the current rewards (with a limited ability to reorder them) this is roughly equivalent to increasing your veteran rewards level by one step for every year you've subscribed. |

I read through this thread and this question was *almost* answered but not quite:
What happens to vet rewards that are expendable? like the XP power or the bonus merits? do we lose any that we havent used up? (do I need to go nuts at the tailors? start a whole rake of level 1 toons claim the bonus merits and use them to buy stuff to send to my main toons? - why havent I been doing that all along? .....).
If they do remove all earned vet rewards and replace with points so we can "re-buy" then fair enough, I'd just like to know so I can decide if I need to use up the unused rewards that I've been saving for a later stage (like the XP power for instance)

THANK YOU!!!!
I asked for this more than once over the last few years... and was laughed at by the community almost as a whole.
Vindication...
Oh, and you're welcome

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

I understood the Vet Reward system since the day I started playing. It had some nice benefits and was incredibly simple. Every three months you got a 'perk'.
The new system isn't clear, isn't simple and yet more unnecessary currencies. Are you guys trying to kill CoX by making it so complex no one bothers with it?
I can understand wanting to incentivize newer players who can't wait for the little perks like Base TP, Reveal etc but this system doesn't make any sense to me. I've read the stuff several times and I just think ... "I'm not going to get any more Vet Rewards. Darn."
You're giving me points every month but they don't count and I have to BUY other points?! I'm not paying you money for to access the vet rewards which I currently get free within my subscriptions.
Either write a proper, simple and clear explanation or for the love of the game, please stop doing dumb stuff like this.

You also have the OPTION--not requirement--to buy $15 worth of points and be automatically granted a Paragon Reward Token. This means you can now buy your way to a Tier 9 reward status if you feel so inclined.
You also don't have to buy them in $15 increments; you can buy $5 (the minimum) three different times (with no time limit) and still get the bonus token.

As to it not being clear, what are you confused about? If you don't post your questions, they won't get answered.

In the old system, you got a predefined reward every three months.
In the new system, you get a token you can redeem for a reward of your choice every month, rather than three months. The limitation is that the rewards are organized in tiers and you cannot pick rewards from higher tiers until you get everything from the lower tiers first. Its still better than the current version where you have *no* choice. Now, you still have to take each tier in order, but you can take the rewards within each tier in any order.
On top of that only VIP subscribers get these tokens each month. Non-subscribers do not. To give them a way to advance in the system as well in the new system non-subscribers will get an additional reward token for each $15 they spend. The only way they can advance in the system is to spend money. So we get reward tokens every month, they get them for each $15 they spend.
And to make it fair, if VIPs spend money in the store, we get the same benefit: one reward token for each $15 we spend as well.
