I plan to be standing atop City Hall, saluting the flag, when the servers shut down. Thank you for nearly 9 years of great memories!
-
That's definitely it, thanks

Does anyone know what costume piece the character on the left of the Freedom Freebie announcement is wearing? The reddish top with buttons on both sides?
-
I secured Bill's identity, that's all I cared about. I didn't get him on 2 of the euroservers but eh, close enough.
-
I'm just hoping I can de-select all of those ridiculous bonus sprint powers that are clogging up my powers list when I dink around with enhancements. All in favor of being able to rearrange your powers list on the 'manage' page?
-
I've been here since Day One, so you may have seen Bill zipping around town before.
-
Thanks for the info everyone. For the record, I DGAF what my post count title is, I was just curious and didn't realize that 'rookie' was above citizen.

Quote:I've been getting this since the patch, but I'm also not on my PC, I'm playing on my MBP in the bootcamp partition running Win 7 64 bit, if that helps narrow it down.Has anyone else been told, on loading the NC Launcher, that it needs to delete a virtual folder in City of Heroes (US) and City of Heroes? It's been doing that since the last launcher patch, and before this patch. It doesn't stop me running anything, it's just...weird.
-
Weird, because I just saw someone tagged as 'citizen' with under 80 posts. Well, guess I know what I'm doing at work next week!
-
So how does the forum determine your status displayed under your name? I registered in 2004, and I've got more posts than people I see labelled as things other than rookie, so what gives?
-
I just saw this and it brought a tear to my eye. Mscats, my thoughts, prayers and good intentions are with you and your sister, and family. Like villain_tech said, you're family to all of us whether we've me IRL or in game, or never. Be well.

For the people asking about endo changes to the AOE buffs- Don't powers like Repel just stack the endo use for each successful hit? It stands to reason that these would work the same way.

That was a great write-up! I've had a time or two way before the invention system hit where I was on a team that just finished a TF right before we got booted for maintenance, but this was an enjoyable read. Thanks for sharing!

Quote:Agree, but only if by "handed to" you mean you get to pull it out of her bustier with your teeth. Call it the Two in Time accolade!Great job, really. I found that when I joined on those 16-player BAF runs led by Ms Mesmer that they went smoother than most of the full league ones I'd been on. And a few of them ended up being < 16. I know that the players can't be far away from a successful 8-man BAF.
Solo BAF trial, though deserves its own special award handed to you in person by Mother Mayhem. -
A BAF trialis no place for education, what were you thinking?! Weenus and fart jokes only, please.
-
I've run with you a few times as well, and totally agree with you. I'm much more comfortable being a lieutenant and hammering out instructions from the leader's prompting to move things along, but I led my first Lambda last week and having a full load of able, competent players that have all run it successfully before is a HUGE help. That said, I'd follow you any day of the week! I don't think I've ever run a trial with you on team that didn't end swimmingly well.
-
Mystic, the problem with the queue is that it dumps you into the trial as soon as minimum is set, which is hardly ideal, and there's been issues with people crashing the instance when joining in progress trials, so lots of people try to leave with full teams.
I think that for the queue to work it needs 2 different prompts once you join: a 'go now or wait till full' prompt once minimum attendance is met; and a 'leave current mission to join trial' prompt so that you can run instanced missions while you're waiting in the line. Adding those features would really make it useful. That, and letting you queue up for ANY trial, TF, or WST, which is what they ultimately want to implement I'd imagine.
I feel your pain though; even on successful runs sometimes it takes up to half an hour to re-fill the league and go again. Granted I usually play late for the U.S. (anywhere from 5pm-1am pacific time) and players are down to a trickle by then. -
I spent the better part of the day on Sunday running the new trials, and thanks to the excellent communication and leadership of Big SOB, received not only my first wins in both trials, but several of them and unlocked all but my Destiny slot.
More than anything what I've noticed is that the new trials really require communication on the team. Even if everyone's done the mission before, you still need to coordinate who is doing what. I felt that for the first time on a trial/ TF that I was part of an actual team working together, not just 8 different people running in and firing off whatever powers they had.
Also I'm absolutely stunned at the amount of people that will join a trial, talk through setting up the team, and once the 'join' button pops up they're silently and mysteriously AFK. *sigh* That and the shocking amount of people that don't know where their temp powers are. Again though, we had great communication and teamwork and only failed a single attempt during the breakout of the BAF, and I think that was b/c a controller disconnected.
Just wanted to give major props to the big guy for leading some great runs. If you're looking for a TF and he's broadcasting, jump on board! -
/agree to letting you run instanced missions while qued up. My guess it it's an issue with timed missions, which would be harder to flag the lfg system to ignore some missions and not others. Any other mission I'd be fine with getting ported out of, I'll just restart it later. That said, they could just toss in the caveat that you shouldn't attempt timed missions while qued, and problem solved.
What I would love to see is an option for ALL taskforce/ trials added to the lfg que. There's still some old Freedom Phalanx TF's I never did and there's seldom interest in them, so barring me setting it up ahead of time on the forum, I'd have to hang around lowbie zones spamming for group members to do a not-very-popular mission. No desire to do that. -
Just wait until the server list merge, I'm sure you'll see a huge adjustment in prices then.
-
Ran the Lambda trial last night and did some missions after, seemed to be working normally. Chalking it up to "post quad-failing trial bias" making me think I was en-n00bled.
-
Last night after getting schooled on both the new incarnate trials, I ran some radio and alignment missions. Same difficulty I'd been running on the past 2 or 3 weeks. Only this time even though the mobs were conning the same as they had previously, my damage output seemed reduced from what it was before i20 went live. I have my Tier 4 musculature slotted and while I don't have any hard numbers, it sure felt like it was taking a lot longer to wipe out groups than it had. Does anyone know if there was a stealth-ne...er..I mean, "damage output adjustment" ?
-
This is an outrage. AN OUTRAGE, I SAY! I'm deleting all of my unused lowbie alts to return some XP into the pool as soon as I finish this post.
Oh, and thanks for the surprise Halloween events -
I read about this contest on another forum, and was happy to attend. This was their first attempt at a big CC and while it did sort of drag out a bit, the Prophets made a great effort to fill people in on what was going on and where we were in the progress of things. There was some good-natured teasing and a bit of peer critique, but all-in-all things were very civil.
Until the winners were announced. Then, lo and behold, a new group formed- the "didn't make the cut haters." Cries of "you copied your costume from the forums" and "the judges have sh***y taste", or "all the winners are decked out in mutant pack items", etc. So disappointing. My home server is Infinity, but Bill lives on all of them. This was the longest I'd spent on Freedom in a while, and really I was ashamed for those people. A CC is judged by individuals with their own taste, which might not be yours. If I want to hand 5 billion to people who think like me, well that's too bad if you don't like it. Bill managed to place in the top 11, but missed the final 5 cut (full disclosure). And his outfit is very Silver Age inspired, sort of Flash meets Captain America. Very different from the other winners. Did I cry and moan? No, and if I hadn't gotten one single inf I wouldn't have either. I spent an hour in Pocket D in a game I enjoy, people watching. If you didn't want to and weren't happy with the result, well, I'm sorry that you can't just be gracious for those who did win.
I'm stunned, because in 7 years of playing this game, I've never seen a group go from content to complain-y to flat out rudely hostile over something so trivial. I'll still play on Freedom, but wow...poor showing from a lot of the contestants.
I'd also like to mention that the Prophets themselves were very good-natured about the hostility and responded civilly and with dignity, which is 90% of the reason I joined them immediately after the CC. At least I found one group on Freedom that I know I can get along with. -
Quote:Been dating a british girl for a few months now and this one really floored me. So now I always check when her full stop is coming. Can someone in the UK PLEASE tell me why some of you pronounce bagel as "buy-gull" instead of "bay-gel" ?!
