So is it me, or has infinity forsaken the queue completely?

I've been trying to join some i-trials using the queue since i20 popped, but failing miserably. spent over an hour waiting, several times, and still haven't been able to get on a single run in two weeks.

Due to my new jobs hours, I don't really have the luxury of sitting around pre-forming leagues, and I figured the queue would be my saving grace, but so far its only helped to stifle my incarnate progress. So what's the deal infinity, is there no one who uses the queue... at least between 5-7pm EST?

Go to the Rikti War Zone and stand there. Theres almost ALWAYS a trial forming broadcasting for members... most of the time open to all takers.

If you can wait for over an hour in the queue, you can wait a few minutes in zone getting a team the old fashioned way... with much more success!

As others have said RWZ is a quick and easy way to do it.

Worst case scenario you have to wait 30min for a BAF to form and 15 for a Lambda. That would still let you run one of each per day on your schedule.

That pace will get you double level shifted in a week or less depending on drops.

Best case you get on ones that form in 5 min and can run two of each...

If you just want max threads and astrals get on a "train" of either trial. A group that reforms after each run. Some parts might swap out but downtime is fairly low.

That would probably work most of the time...

... however, Sunday nights on Infinity is usually ship raid night. I know people were complaining last Sunday evening that all of the BAF/Lambda recruiting in RWZ is making it hard for the ship raids to get enough warm bodies. Remember, the zones are capped at 50. Twenty-four on a BAF and 16 on a Lambda leaves only 10 for a ship raid.

And since IB can't be everywhere at once, 10 peeps = a not very successful ship raid.

Maybe BAF/Lambda recruiting can move to Pocket D?

A little late to the discussion but...

The one time I tried the queue system I sat in it for over an hour in the RWZ watching team after team form up and head out. I can honestly say that at least 3 BAF's formed and finished in the time I sat there because a friend was on those BAF teams. The leaders were broadcasting looking for more, but I sat and waited in the queue. There were Lambda's forming and leaving as well and in all that time never once did I get any indication of being put on a team. I was even set to join events that had already started.

Nada.

Now, I did this purely as an experiment and was actually going over a potential respec for the toon I was on, so I wasn't just wasting my time. Granted, I was taking up space in the zone and maybe kept someone from zoning in, but that didn't even occur to me at the time.

Anyway, the queue is a nice "feature" on paper. In the "real world" though, it's apparently a huge waste of time and code. Hardly anyone uses it and the times I've actually been on a league that wanted to start with a few members short, hoping to get some of those from the queue to join, the people in the queue declined to join. Which makes me wonder why they even bothered putting themselves in the queue if they had no intention of actually joining.

That time is pretty busy for teams in RWZ. Like PPs said, if you pop over there, you shouldn't have any trouble getting on a team that can likely run 2-3 (or if it's really rocking, more) trials in that 2 hours.

Thank you all for the replies

A few things just to clarify, my available playtime has been between 5-7pm as I said but I am only on at some point between those hours... not for the whole duration, typically.

I think the longest I've been on is maybe an hour and 20 min, and I've only gotten to play about every other day or so due to family needs ( just had a new addition a few weeks ago! ). The few times I was able to get on during beta, the queue worked well and very quickly... which led me to believe it would make things more accessible on live given my schedule.

I guess I'm a bit disappointed there's no fast Q'ing action, but I'll try getting in some pre-formed leagues tonight since I've finally got some time to play (no work tomorrow, yaay!). Maybe I'll be able to work in some formed runs throughout the week if they aren't taking long to set up, here's hoping

Yes, but you either create clones or program robots with your personality and memories unless you can effectively control another 8 accounts with the same level of competence.

Mystic, the problem with the queue is that it dumps you into the trial as soon as minimum is set, which is hardly ideal, and there's been issues with people crashing the instance when joining in progress trials, so lots of people try to leave with full teams.

I think that for the queue to work it needs 2 different prompts once you join: a 'go now or wait till full' prompt once minimum attendance is met; and a 'leave current mission to join trial' prompt so that you can run instanced missions while you're waiting in the line. Adding those features would really make it useful. That, and letting you queue up for ANY trial, TF, or WST, which is what they ultimately want to implement I'd imagine.

I feel your pain though; even on successful runs sometimes it takes up to half an hour to re-fill the league and go again. Granted I usually play late for the U.S. (anywhere from 5pm-1am pacific time) and players are down to a trickle by then.

Well, I was able to join some pre-formed leagues through the weekend and had a pretty good time. An old friend of mine came back from a leave of absence sunday and wanted to do a trial, but nobody was starting one... after about 40 mins of running between RWZ and Pocket D I decided to form up a BAF but he had to leave a little while after I started recruiting. I finished putting it together anyway and we did a few successful runs (thanks to everyone who joined! ).

All in all got my T1 Alpha to T3, unlocked Judgement and made 2 of the T1's for it (Pyronic and Void), got Lore unlocked and a T3 slotted (Seers) for the incarnate shift, and I need another 11% to unlock Interface, already crafted a T3 for it (Reactive)... not bad for a weekend, it all went pretty fast. I think I did about 15 BAFs and 3-4 Lambda... average time for BAF runs seemed to fall around 22-25 mins with approx 5-10 min in between. The one I formed took about 30-40 min, but then we ran (i think) 5 consecutive runs in about 2 hours or so. Guess I'll have to stick with Pre-forming for now, it's not really as big of a hassle as I originally thought.

I think Pocket D is the better choice for Trial forming, but I think the server has spoken and decided on RWZ and that's that.

Sundays it might just be best to go to RWZ 2, which will inevitably pop up.

Of course, I'm more than willing to start going to Pocket D if enough folks want to make a point to try to push the server to that instead.

From the start I said Pocket D would be the smartest place to form them. But the server seems to have spoken. I think the lack of a store to sell Junk filling inventory slots is a factor. If we had someplace to sell Recipes/SOs/Salvage it may help sway people.

Also, the fact you can't being in the Queue while your on a mission map, on an SG base, Slotting enchantments, working on costumes, or any thing else that takes up a full screen pretty much leaves you standing around a Zone, or killing for badges.

I spent a couple days trying the Que and not once did it drop me into a League/Trial. Even with the "Join already in progress" flagged it would not toss me in to a trial I knew was running with room. Why waste time sitting around in a Queue when I can sit in the warzone for 20 min max and get on either trial. So unless they change the way the LFG works, or make it so you HAVE to use it, I don't see any thing changing.

Unfortunately, it won't add you to trials that merely have room. It only pulls new players from the queue if the league falls below the minimum size to start the trial.
