That one cracked me up too. We are not gonna stop the crashes, we will just tell you better when it happens.

NOTE: Fanbois, please don't jump in here with your Dev Defense Tier 4!! I just thought it was funny the way they said that is all.

Me too, but that kind of fix always hits Test first.

Since I20 came out I have been getting a huge variety of crashes (from corrupt .piggs, to illegal instructions, to "tell us what you were doing", to the game just falling out to Windows without any ceremony whatsoever).

My assumption is that all of these are due to running out of memory, because they almost always happen when I try to run more than one or two trials in a session. I always have noted that memory footprint of the game creeps up from about 1 GB to 1.5GB by the time I get the crash. (I have 3.4GB RAM.)

These crashes, more than any other aspect of I20, have had me down on the game. While everyone else was complaining about the repetitiveness of the trials, and that they were getting common or 10 thread incarnate salvage, the game would crash about a minute before we were to finish on every third trial and I would get a big fat nothing.

Since then I've turned down all the settings and taken to restarting the game after every trial or two to avoid the crashes. Thus, I will find it very useful to know that it's a memory problem and not something else. Being able to detect the cause of a problem can also help the devs track down where the memory leak is, and maybe fix it.

Has anyone else been told, on loading the NC Launcher, that it needs to delete a virtual folder in City of Heroes (US) and City of Heroes? It's been doing that since the last launcher patch, and before this patch. It doesn't stop me running anything, it's just...weird.

Im back to having the locked file issue again. atr least the games play through the laoder, but the loader is bugged. once activated, it gives me the "waiting on locked file: nclauncher.exe" loop again. i guess i'll have to go back through the boards and find the original thread i was commenting in to figure out what fix i had found. but, if my crappy memory serves, i didnt find a fix. it just started working properly :P

Edit: Never mind, fixed problem.

Probably a silly question, but have your tried the /unloadgfx command? I used to get crashes after running too many TFs in a row, and /unloadgfx seemed to help with that.

Just experienced this... in a Most bizarre fashion.
Had two clients running dual boxing.
Exited one.
Tabbed over to the other 1 and used 2 powers...
Boom pigg crash

A friend of mine has this happening to him. So far I have escaped it on both of the computers I use.

I've been getting this since the patch, but I'm also not on my PC, I'm playing on my MBP in the bootcamp partition running Win 7 64 bit, if that helps narrow it down.
