When old ones retire, will they be available in the paragon store proper?

So what your saying is it would behoove us to get to Tier 9 asap to avoid missing out on Tier 9 VIP rewards being given now, as when they rotate they're going unavailble?

I don't particularly like that idea...

Odds are they won't be limited time only, but will be rotated in and out on a regular basis.

So around 2 years, if they don't buy any points.

Also, FPARN!
I'd love to be incorrect, and for you to be right, but none of the calculations are showing that 2 years would get you to Tier 9. Unless the new tokens are in addition to what we already have earned.

Steelclaw's handy list, based off of Posi's equation doesn't show it being that fast:

7th = 7 (28)

9th = 5 (40)
9th VIP = 3 (43)

Besides, the system is going from a once/quarter reward to a once/month reward and it's a good way for the current veterans to "catch up". At 33 months I should be only 1 month from unlocking tier 9 and instead I'll just be into tier 7 or 8 (depending on when it goes live, before or after my 36 month reward) even with the extra buys.
If this is the case, I retract what I said in my first post... However, I'm not seeing where this is expressed at all.

Anyone have confirmation?

Yes if you want it RITE NAO or you go Premium (free to play).

OR... if you continue to subscribe, you get 1 Paragon Reward Token per month effectively accelerating up what used to be the Vet Reward Tree at three times the pace. This means in will fill out the reward tree (and it *is* a tree) in just 7 months.

Since Tier 9 are just consumables (and a good thing for that, I don't have room in my trays for several more years of permanent temp powers), this means you'll catch up to current 7+ year Vets in rewards.

Did they say that the "Windfall" reward is? I saw it on a couple of slides, but not in any of the notes.

If I'm understanding this right, Tier 1 players won't be able to make Huge characters at all, but Premium and VIP players are automatically at least Tier 2. (i.e., the restriction will only apply to completely-free never-paid-for-anything-and-never will players).

A newbie who starts to subscribe as a VIP the day FREEDOM launches will max out the Paragon Reward tiers in 3 years.

What do old time Vets get? The ability to spend future, monthly Reward Tokens on consumables since they're already maxed out.

Hmm... I'm usually quick to get this sort of thing...

I'm not following how my 42 months gets me past Tier 6.
N/3+((N/3)/4)= Paragon Reward Tokens at launch (N is your number of months on your highest vet badge)

So, 42 months would equal 17.5 points, no? And that would be in the 7th Tier.

What am I missing and/or doing wrong?
And thanks for any help (I'm very happy to be wrong in this case... and as soon as i have it pointed out, I plan to fix my first post in here).

I, for one, simply relish the thought of doing a STF and at then end when Recluse does his little I Am Invincible! thing, all 8 people on the team summons their own Statesman.

I'm talking about AFTER this comes out. If someone new to the game signs up the moment CoH: Freedom is released.

To get to the 'current' level of veteran rewards (84 months) a player will have to get (84/3)=28 tokens. Said tokens are given out on a monthly basis after Freedom comes out, plus one per year of subscription.

So 28/13=2, remainder 2.

So just a little over two years will earn you seven years worth of veteran rewards.

As a result rather than never catching up with the Joneses who were here since the beginning, you're just going to keep gaining points until you reach Tier 9. People who can already reach Tier 9 will spend their tokens on consumable rewards, rather than getting a new reward every 3 months that you'll never, ever, ever be able to get at the same time as them.

this is all kinds of confusing to me...

So im a 7 year vet right now. October comes and i get all these crazy points to unlock whatever. Do i have to unlock everything with these points? And then i have tier 9 available but i have to chose between tier 9 and tier 2 for example? Or are they already unl;ocked and now i just have a massive amounts of points?

And as a 7 year vet who is paying by quarter, am I a VIP Vet, VET, or VIP. Its all so confusing.

Actually, Tier 6, with 4 more reward tokens to get to tier 7.

The thing is that you are jump started 17 months into the system. To get to Tier 9 just by subscribing, you need to subscribe for another 17 months (13 reward tokens a year) until you catch up. OR you could accelerate that by 1 token per 1200 points ($15) to get to that point sooner. If a NEW player starts with Issue 21, they have to wait 3 years, or purchase a lot of Paragon Points.

I'm curious when it comes to the consumable ones, like the unslotters and the summon signature character powers. Are those account-wide like current vet rewards, or do they get used up after you claim it on one character?

The points will be "pre-spent" with your existing Vet Rewards. Any future rewards are your choice.

I have a substantial concern that if Vets can make use of their old "Vet Rewards" credit to basically "buy off" all the restrictions placed on the Premium accounts... that we'll see a large migration of former paying customers cancelling and going free to play.

Hopefully enough new "Free" players will come in and perform micro-transactions that will cover that difference, but I have my doubts.

but if they cost 30+ points to unlock, do i have to accumalate another 30 points to unlock the next refresh? or is it unlock forever and as they become available i have access to the new rewards?

Oh! I just realized that it seemed like I was correcting your tier.

No, I was correcting your "New costumes locked behind 7 years of vet rewards" comment.

Sorry for the confusion.

First, ignore Von Krieger's and Steelclaw's faulty math. ( )

Yes, will have 17.5 points.

Look at the picture with the boxes. You buy one box per point. You don't advance to the next tier until you buy all the boxes in that tier. It take 13 points to buy all the boxes in Tier 5 and lower.

Then you can buy 4 of the 6 Rewards in in Tier 6.

Then, if you're subscribed, you get one more point per month to continue climbing the reward tree. You'll fill out Tier 8 with 14 more Tokens (which is only 13 months because of the yearly Token). After that, you'll be able to spend future Tokens on Tier 9 consumable or Tier 9 VIP items.
